This is why reggae, particularly roots and rocksteady, resonates with most. Even if it is not one’s preferred genre, it can calm one’s being. This is because the beats/BPM mimics the human heartbeat [resting rate]. Thus, it restores an anxious heart to normal. Of course there are several subgenres of reggae, whose melodies greatly differ (Ska and DH perhaps most notably different from the others). For _many,_ reggae speaks to the soul, appeals to the expressive and revolutionary heart, and enlivens the spirit. For _all,_ it literally relates and aligns with the physical being, at it’s most basic level. Pretty cool, huh! It’s not one of my fave genres, though I am ancestrally 🇯🇲; but learning that [back in school days] gave me a special appreciation. 🌬☮️🤍
