There are Ukrainian soldiers being trained in England by British military and there's some New Zealanders there training them too. There's also a whole squadron of foreigners fighting in Ukraine. I've definitely seen videos with Brits, Germans, Americans, Aussies and know there's a couple of Kiwis too. Sadly we had news here last week of the first New Zealander killed fighting in Ukraine.

Brilliant. I love that Ukranians are using advanced & hard to implement battlefield tactics. They are able to fire manpads against a tank from DEEP in concealment. It offers you a narrow field of fire requiring many carefully sited firing points to cover a wide area along w total fire disciple, situational awareness & team work. Your spotters must inform shooter where & when targets are so they can be prealigned as it comes into their limited field of view & they can lock on w minimal tracking. The plus is the enemy has no way to target firing point before launch & almost no way to spot where fire is coming from one attack underway. Utilized properly you can let a unit go past effectively attacking them from rear. The surprise & confusion can be epic.

Tongue in cheek humour is way better than bias in media. You see the values of the presenters, but it doesn't compromise the reportage.

We’ll, brother, I like your focus on new developments in combat and that TVP seems unbiased in coverage of the war. You personally seem like a good guy.

Rode in HMMMWVs while deployed to Iraq! Really a very “cool” vehicle!! Even got to drive one (I am actually not allowed to drive this vehicle because I am a Colonel in the US Army Medical Corps and assigned a driver). The “Hummers” I rode in were equipped with a M2 machine gun.

NASA just announced that the International Space Station has almost collided with a Russian tank turret. NASA said there is around 500 Russian tank turrets circling the earth in low orbit.

Great channel. Opening video is too long. I have to speed past it,

02:25 I have seen explanations of this "Turret Take-off" phenomenon. The first thing is that most armour protection in these older tanks is on the front, less on the sides, very little on the top. Modern munitions can hit the turret from above, where protection is weakest. The second point is that ammunition is stored around the edge of the turret, above the turret 'ring,' so in the event of penetration of the turret, the ammo explodes, vaporising the crew instantly, and turns the turret into an unguided projectile as the 'ring' is not designed for that kind of stress. The Germans used to call the Sherman Tank "Tommy Cookers" as they were prone to catching fire. I suppose "Vaporizers" are easier to clean up after. Perhaps more dangerous to their crews than the enemy in modern warfare, but they were designed for a previous generation of weapons, after all. If only the same effort was put into combatting climate change as is put into killing each other, the world might be a better place. . . . . . . .

If i can add my 2 cents, in most russian tanks configurations more ammo is stored underneath the turret, accentuating the bottom-up effect

There were a lot of examples of turret "issues" in Desert Storm. 🙂 You would think that Russia would have learned something......but no. Reducing the crew from four men to three men reduces the number of casualties...so there...ha! Ivan ain't totally stupid.

Good to see the good ole Milan anti tank missile is also being used very effectively in Ukraine. Cheaper too than the Javelin or NLAWS as well. $15,000 a missile, as opposed to a Javelin at $250,000. There are also some 400,000 Milan missiles available to use whereas there were only some 45,000 Javelin at the start of this invasion.

i think one of the not really thought about things that this war has shown is what would have happened to areas captured by the Soviet union if the cold war had turned hot. and its likely the crimes and atrocities would have been worse as hard as that might have seemed to be imagined.
