The Japan Diaries - family travel vlog - PART 1

Ойын-сауық

In August 2023, we spent two weeks traveling the Golden Route in Japan. We flew into Tokyo and spent time in Mishima, Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Miyajima. Then we completed our Every Disney Park bucket list at Tokyo Disneyland before ending the trip with a few more days in Tokyo. We traveled around the country by train, taking advantage of the high-speed Shinkansen and using Japan's ubiquitous luggage forwarding services to make our travels easier. Thanks for watching!

In April I will be completing visiting all the Disney Parks with a trip to Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong and it reassures me that I am on the right track with my planning because many of the places I am planning to go, you had on your trip and I have always been so impressed with how many fun and cultural activities you are able to pack into your tips. Thank you for enjoying Japan. It was a wonderful journey that really conveyed everyone's sense of fulfillment, and I enjoyed watching it too. If you have a chance to come again, I recommend going for about a month from mid-April and a month from mid-October as the temperature and humidity are comfortable, based on flat areas in urban areas such as Tokyo and Osaka. The taste and autumn leaves are especially attractive in autumn.

I'm a Japanese citizen living in Kyoto. Summer in Japan is extremely hot and humid, isn't it? In particular, Kyoto is a basin surrounded by mountains on three sides except for the south, so in the summer it is humid and humid as humid air accumulates from the south, and in the winter it gets extremely cold as cold winds from the north blow through to the south. Japanese people are a people who experience the change of seasons in terms of climate, scenery, food, etc. Cherry blossoms in spring, seasonal food, snowy scenery in winter, etc. If you like Japan and come back again, we recommend that you come in a different season. I can only speak basic English, so I would appreciate it if you could understand what I'm saying.

You speak English well! We knew that summer has extreme weather and were willing to risk it since we can only travel when our kids aren't in school. I would love to come back to Japan someday to see the cherry blossoms or the fall colours - or to ski! Thanks for watching.

In Japan, there is a culture of eating and drinking under cherry blossom trees in spring. It's called ”Ohanami (お花見)”. In many countries overseas, it is not possible to drink alcohol outside, but in Japan it is legal. However, please be careful as it is considered immoral to walk around while drinking alcohol. If you want to go skiing in winter, go to Hokkaido if you want to enjoy food, and if you want to go to hot springs, go to Nagano. I also ski, but I want to relieve the fatigue of skiing in a hot spring, so I use Nozawa Onsen (野沢温泉) in Nagano. The town itself is a hot spring town, so it's fun to visit the public baths.
