The Irresistible Beauty of a Tender Heart - 1 Peter 3:1-6 - Skip Heitzig

The Irresistible Beauty of a Tender Heart - 1 Peter 3:1-6, from our study, 60 1 & 2 Peter - Rock Solid - 2013, with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.
MESSAGE SUMMARY
The most attractive people in the world are those who display depth of character and pleasant personalities. Solomon insisted that "[outward] beauty is passing" (Proverbs 31:30). As Peter speaks to a common issue in the early church (Christian wives married to unbelieving husbands), he also gives us three marks of a tenderhearted woman: in her actions, attitudes, and admiration.

As A Registered Nurse talking, wounds heal from the inside out. Ointments, dressings, salves, are topical. You have to have proper nutrition, hydration, and circulation to truly heal. I earnestly feed my inside with what I know will keep me on the right path. A diet filled with God's WORD, Grace, Mercy and LOVE in the mix. The outcome IS infectious. To GOD be ALL The Glory! Not my first time listening to this Sermon, and won't be my last. ❤ it!

does this apply to everything and anything a husband does? if he's harsh and cruel do you still just keep submitting and respecting? He'll eventually change? I've been doing that(not perfectly) for over 30 years, not much change...it seems to me that the goal is to please the Lord and not expect much for a loving marriage. My husband is a believer but does not walk with the Lord. So I'm guessing I apply this as if he's a non-believer. I sometimes wish that marriage was more like a master servant relationship, that way I would not have longings for love, sharing etc. it would just be functional and much more doable...

I loosen the word of 1 peter 3:1-6, 2 corinthians 6:14-15, 1 john 3:10 to win my god-ordained husband over to God almigthy while I bind being unequally yoked and share anything in common with any evildoer serving satan, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

What about an unbelieving wife, one that's in the Word but doesn't follow? Do these same principles apply?

What if you try to have both .as you can be giving out all your energy for others .then collapse at the sight of yourself.its is having a close relationship to God. And that's the key .

fashion is not at all important. That is world that should not have place in church. Church should influence world not vica versa.

I agree with you on that. Not sure why Skip needed to even mention that. I really love him as a pastor, but I wish he would drill it to the women like he drills it to the men.
