It’s not the oscars fault, it’s A24’s fault for not releasing the movie on schedule. That’s the only reason why the movie wasn’t nominated, due to a schedule eligibility.

I think politics inside the industry. Another assumptions would be: the writers and casting crew of the iron claw didn't listened to Hollywood's diversity bullshit. You know like forcefully casting indian, asian, black, Mexican and every race in a movie to ruin the story.

If the Academy Awards can give Shirley Temple a “Special Oscar”, they ought to do so for the producers of this film.

In this movie Zac Efron disappeared and flawlessly transformed into Kevin Von Erich in a once in a lifetime role. Zac gracefully showed what a real ascension from a Disney child actor to a dramatic versatile movie star looks like. The snub was beyond questionable and unfathomable. Such a disappointing decision from the academy.

I liked Cillian Murphy's performance in Oppenheimer as much as the next guy, but Zac would have been my pick to win. These prestigious awards always miss too much to mean anything significant in my mind.

100%!!!!! I literally never cared about Zac Efron before this movie, wasn’t interested in the comedies/teen movies. He was stellar in The Iron Claw and cemented himself as a seriously versatile actor. Cannot believe he wasn’t nominated.

Iron Claw should be the reason you guys start having stunt and ensemble categories. And shame on you for the snub.

My goodness, I had to watch them every Friday night while my momma would go see them live. They were a big part of my childhood. Congratulations to Zac for such a great performance! It’s about time he gets more meatier roles.

Zac was great in this movie, I'm so thankful that Kevin survived all the sadness and the loss of his brothers, it couldn't have been easy ❤

I watched the movie many times and cried as much for Zac Efron as Kevin Von Erich. Sadly,The Academy didn't see through it for Zac Efron to even get a goddamn nomination.

How could you ever seen at the Academy when it wasn’t even nominated? I think the movie came out a little too late when people are already starting to make their nominations. I bet if it came out a month early then it would’ve gotten nominations in best actor, and best picture among other things.

The film was officially released on December 22, 2023, and had a few advance screenings prior to that.

I watched this film last night, I honestly didn't expect much from it and knew little of the back story about the Von Erich family. But I was actually surprised of Efons acting ability here, I think it was best acting performance in a movie, especially the extremely tough emotional scenes. Deserve some recognition

Why wasn’t Zac or The Iron Claw nominated for ANYTHING? It was a fantastic film. It had the most emotional response of any audience or group of friends I’ve seen a film with in the last year.

Shame on you, academy, this movie was amazing and way better than maestro and you still had the nerve to nominate maestro plenty of times instead of iron claw. Really makes me doubt if the academy knows anything about cinema. Amazing film deserves more praise and recognition

Best actor, best screenplay and best cast. That was for the iron claw. Unfortunately they said no to it.

Zac deserved to be nominated. Cilian murphy and leo wernt as good as zac was for me this season. My personal opinion but i can justify this if you compare the performances back to back.

I had no idea Harris Dickinson was from the UK... the accent threw me for a second. It's always amazing how actors can hide their accent or learn a new one for a film... and do it so well you wouldn't ever know their real speaking voice until you hear it later in interviews. He did a good job.
