I bought the SA3, but ended up getting the Emotiva Basx A2 amp. I wanted the power of the Emotiva and the flexibility from SA3. Also bought the NP3 from Iota. Paired these up with the Triangle BR03 speakers and Fluance RT85 and U-Turn tables. Makes for a killer set up in my room. I get lost and spend hours in there listing to my records. Keep up these vids, you're killing it!

I just wanted to say, I've been watching your videos for a while now and I've learned so much about audio gear and the industry in that time. I like how you talk about sound and the pleasure of it rather than just pure measurements.I bought the SA3 on the strength of your 3 reviews (and a few other KZreadrs too!). I have to say I'm stunned by how good it is. Your assessment of it is bang on the money. I was going to play it safe with an Onkyo/Marantz/Cambridge, but I'm glad I didn't and I went for something left field like the SA3. Thank you so much - please keep on doing what you do. Now, if I can only sneak it past the wife, I'll add the PA3. Cheers Sean!

Another A+ review. Example why? The bonus section contrasting this amp with the NAD is so useful as a buying guide that every other reviewer on youtube could learn from it. This is what audio equipment reviews should do imho, and short of providing detailed measurements too, this is as good as it gets folks.

Thanks for the support, Michael. Drawing up direct comparisons isn't always possible, particularly in a video format where people *demand* to see what I'm talking about. I'm lucky to have the NAD still hanging around so I could feature it in the vid.

Hi Sean, I Just purchased the SA3, PA3 Stack, and the Bluetooth dongle based on your (and others - to a lesser degree) recommendation. I think it's a great value and a good place to start as I begin my audiophile journey. I also subscribed to your channel. I wholeheartedly agree with your honest and practical approach to audio. There's room for everyone in this hobby and audiophiles that look down their noses on other's choices and opinions take the joy and excitement out of any learning experience. Keep up the good work and thank you for the hard work you do. - That's right people running a channel ain't easy.

Sean, as an update on this IOTA SA3 Integrated Amp, now owned for 11 months. As soon as I received it and plugged in the speakers , it was noticed that 2 of the speaker connections were "loose". I called IOTA, Tech Support walked me through opening the "hood" which I rerally don't familiarity with, found that the fittings on 2 speaker connections were loose. I tighened them very carefully and was good from there. Now, this week, while playing Streamed music via BT, I noticed a scratchy sound. Thought it was bad BT signal, so I played the same signal on another system - no such problem. Switched the speakers to see if it was the speaker (the problem was prominant on the Left Channel, but heard on bother channels). Not the speakers and agter switching the speakers , the entire left channel was out. I shut the unit off. Restarted it 1 hour later, the sound returned played clearly for a short while and then got scratchy again. Now the left channel is out & done. I emailed IOTA , and waiting to see what they advise. I will tell you, this doesn't bode well for this SA3 cause sad disappointment.

I pulled the trigger on the SA3/PA3 combo and have never looked back. One of the smartest decisions I have ever made in my pursuit of great sound at prices I can afford. I did the SA3 first, then after deciding on some new speakers (87DB @8ohms, close out special from GR Research) I snagged the PA3. Speaker cables from Blue Jean Cables, and the Audiolab 6000CDT. The SA3 has a great DAC which saves on some money, AND contributes to great audio. I also recommend the Bluetooth Dongle. It opens up music/movies on the internet. Ian, at IOTA is a straight up solid dude who cares about his customers. My units arrived in 3 days from the UK, packaged more adequately than necessary, which shows great care. I have reached the end of my pursuit. I listen for hours every day!

I live in Lancashire, UK, less than 100 miles from Iota Enterprises, but had never heard of them until I read your rave review earlier this month. After some enquiries, I decided to purchase their SA3 Integrated amp and am delighted with the sound quality from such a modest piece of equipment. But it gets better. Today, I checked out the Tone Control and was surprised and pleased at how well it works to correct Room Acoustic problems, and it is so easy to use. In fact, it works as well as my TacT Room Correction preamp that cost some 3 to 4000 GB Pounds! To have this capability in a £399 Integrated amp is absolutely amazing. As a consequence, I am contemplating the purchase of the optional PA3 power amp to get a further improvement in sound quality. IOTA Enterprises deserves every success with products like this. Well done to them.

It is hard to put it into words really, but the experience was worth every penny. I use the UB 52 as my front channels, powered by the SA3. My other UB52 center channel and UB51 surrounds are running on my AV receiver. I purchased the PA3 unit late January and it still hasn't shipped from IOTAVX. Zero Fidelity just my opinion: I think a lot of people are searching more and more for the diamonds in the lesser known audio world that have real value. E.G. tekton, Buchardt, dayens?, etc. As you well know, the markup on mainstream hifi is startling, so buying equipment from smaller, maybe newer, companies is attractive. If tekton decided to start selling in retailers, the double impacts would cost over double what they do now. They’d still be good for that price, but people wouldn’t marvel over them like they currently do.

They sound incredible, image really really well and can fill a small room at -30ish db on the amp. The sound signature is fairly u shaped since both the ultras and this amp have the sameish sound signature, like what zero fidelity points out in his videos. @@donde2k Thanks, I gave up on any amp except maybe a MOSFET (which are expensive like tube amps are). My amp is supposed to be a "MOSFET" but the data I actually heard on it is vague to say the least. And the amp only cost $300 (new) and if it was like most MOSFETS you could easily add a zero to the price. Nevertheless it's a very good amp and it literally KILLS my NAD (that cost 3 times the price). So after doing that (surprising) comparison I will only get a MOSFET. It's a design difference. I think the transistors work differently and so sound different. They say MOSFETs sound more "tube like" than most transistor amps. I did a comparison of both amps with speakers (that had tweeters with no metal diaphragm). And my cheap "MOSFET" amp makes the cymbals sound more "metal" like than the NAD does...just to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

As the IOTAVX does not have USB I stream Amazon Music HD from my phone or Mac through the Bluetooth which actually is 24 bit aptx. I have to admit sounds fantastic. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos. I have a question that I think you can help me with on whether I should consider "upgrading" to the iota. I'm mostly a vinyl and cd listener. I run a Schiit Saga pre into my NAD C370 and use it with the tube buffer and vintage tube. With this combo my NAD is now sweet and spacious, sounding more high-end. My speakers are 87db Philharmonitors (older version) which love power, so this is a great match. Since you have experience with the C370, will a change to the iota be worthy or should I stay put? I get bit by the upgrade bug watching all the cool videos out there. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Hey Guy. You and me both :) S400's are badass speakers. They scale up pretty well with up-level equipment, so matching them to the right amp under $1000 USD can be a challenge. Parasound ZM2350 is an interesting choice - plenty of class-D power to bring out that soundstage. Not sure about the A23 though.

Sean, Another update and observation after some tinkering. My IOTA SA3 is connected running in unison with the PA3 AMP which is also connected with the PA3's preout to a Emotiva A300 Amp. My Denon DRA-800H Receiver has a Zone 2 Preout connection. That is connected to the SA3 , which allows me control of the Zone 2 Volume and also allows me to Adjust Bass / Treble controls to the speakers connected to this part of my system. What I learned yesterday with some experimentation, was the ZONE 2 master volume on the Denon was set too high !! It appraently was feeding too much power to the SA3. When I lowered the Master volume in the Denon's setup menu to a lesser level, the speakers connected to the PA3 Amp were clear , and not Raspy / Fuzzy as I posted yesterday. However, the Left Channel on gthe SA3 (the Integrated Amp), is not functioning. I had not realized that I had the ZONE 2 master volume - and thus the output set at the maximum level which I may have altered last week or so and set it the Max. When I connected the Denon's ZONE 2 preout directly into the Emotiva A300 amp inputs, with the ZONE 2 Volume preset at the MAX (98) it nearly Blew the Roof off the house. That direct connection to the Emotiva does NOT allow for Volume controls on the AMP - there are none. A Miracle that didn't Blow up the Speakers. I then reset the ZONE 2 volume down and reconnected as described above, the fuzziness in the speakers was gone... Too Much Power . I post this as an experience in Stereo !!

Happy New Year 2021 Sean, Do you think this Iota Integrated Amp would serve well as the Zone 2 Amp running off the Denon DRA-800H Receiver . The Denon has 2 Preouts to connect to a separate Amp to drive a pair of Bookshelf Speakers in a different room (I will be using my currently owned Fluance Signature Series HiFi Bookshelf speakers ). BTW, I should have done more Homework during 2020. I probably purchased the wrong Receiver for my Primary purpose - to play 2.1 Channel Stereo music in my Basement Studio / Mancave / Home office created during the COVID Hibernation. I'm a Music lover , 69 yo, and in my haste to create this "basement studio", I purchased a new Receiver (tried a Pioneer and a Yamaha and returned both), settled on the Denon even though I do not have video /surround sound added (yet?) , purchased various Bookshelf speakers ( Polks, Sonys , Fluances, and finally Elac Debut 6.2s - sent the Sonys and Polks back - kept the Fluances ), a nw AT-LP120XBT TT and 2 Tascam units (CD-RW900mkII and a Dual Cassette Recorder player. Just got a Pair of the Elac Debut Reference Speakers (now paired with the Elac Debuts in a A and B speaker configuration). I had the Flus paired with the Elac Debuts , and they played very well together in the basement studio [finished basement of about 400 s. ft]. - yes, I know a No-No in audiophile land of mixing speaker brands ..... The new Elac Debut Reference speakers are Outstanding and pair very well together. I play my drum kit in the basement too. Now retired (Oct 2020), after working from home since March. The Flus at $200 fpr Bookshelf speakers are very good. I decided to keep them and now will put them to another rooms use with the aforementioned request for your opinion for Zone 2.... or use them in a future Surround Sound complete Video setup in the "mancave"[Sorry, I hate that term, but it does serve a descriptive purpose now]. THX and keep up the great work.

Like the review, looks like it beats out the The Denon PMA800NE you reviewed for performance. Also looking at Audiolab 6000a which is still more money, but how would it compare? That's the problem of not being able to do side by side comparisons locally. One big issue is ...what if you lose that remote? Seems there are no onboard controls for the IOTAVX SA3, so having the remote last without fail and not losing it is important in this amps' operation. Having control knobs would be a nice feature. So, is the SQ closer to high end or just class leading budget? Also, while I know you didn't review the digital front end, it would be nice to get a sense of performance, rounded, large stage, sharp...etc. Not all of us want to buy an independent dac for $$$.

Sean, a very good non convoluted review. As you depict here and in other KZread vids, the selection available to audiophiliac wanna bees, is maddening. Your info is concise and well appreciated. I have a question... is there an Animal out there to allow me to switch my speaker connections ( 2 pairs of different bookshelf speakers [ my bad..... 1 pair of Fluance Signature Series Surround HiFi Bookshelf speakers and 1 pair of Elac Debuts 6.2) without switching connections from my Denon DRA-800H Receiver and connect the speakers to this new OIKA Integrated Amp?

Hello all, Does someone know if the iotavx combo would pair well with harbeth p3esr? These speakers are low sensitivity and quite hard to drive, hence wondering if iotavx combo can provide enough power to p3esr. Does iotavx will provide a smooth sound? with density? large Soundstage? Thank you for your help 😉 Malik

I just received a pair of Elac 2.0 UB52's. I believe this would be a good pairing, would you agree. I listen to classic rock/blues, jazz and occasionally some classical/soundtracks
