Everyone needs to be able to laugh at themselves. I am so glad Medicosis lets the jokes fly - esp those which are 90% truth. I am ready for any ‘Heinz 57’ ‘american’ jokes. (I am Hungarian-Irish mix, both 2nd and third generation. And am also proud of my heritage. Just not to the point of nationalism. Bring on more jokes! We are so lucky for M’s brilliance/humor!
LOL. At 5:47, he says, "shut up" with intent. I love it and cannot stop laughing. It may be the "nugget" that will help me remember action potential forever. BTW, I can rebut his claim about a fart in the wind by bringing my roommate to the equation. My roommate's fart was not nasty, it lingered in our shared apartment for at least half a day. I left for class in the morning and when I came back for lunch in the afternoon, the smell was still there. It is was like a combination C-diff mixed with animal fecal then sprinkled with rotten fish. I turned around and did not return until dark. I prayed and hoped the odor went away as I walked back to the apartment. I never share a house with another person after that semester, except for my spouse.

Doubt: If the K+ concentration gradient inside and outside the cell doesn't change at all, then how come the leaky potassium channels change their directions of pumping? (Since they do passive transport. Therefore, they must always pump along the ionic gradient)
