Years ago, I saw Billy Bragg at a show he did on election night. During that set, he said, "No matter what happens out there, you're safe in here." Fast forward 20 years. The interrupters is one of my favorite bands next to rancid all I can say is that when I’m having a bad day I put them on and in that moment all the bad stuff just goes away

I never listened to what anyone had to say because at the end of the day I realized one thing... No one had the answers. ("Listen more than you speak." Some great advice I got from an internet friend before entering middle school, even.) But throughout it, I guess I didn't make very many friends back where I'm from... As everyone else ever is programmed to be the exact opposite. Take every bit of info and dive into it headfirst with a leap of faith. And people wonder why the world is messed up... If it's messed up, why are we acting like we can trust everyone, including the very systems we have that educate us? I was always the analytical/inquisitive type. Didn't make me very popular but I'm glad I blazed my own trail in the end. I am so much better off and so much wiser for it... At least I'm not being weak and am not afraid to see the actual world for what it is. And what a cold and lonely place it can be when you've grown tired of wearing a mask and being patient by playing pretend... For what? Cuz the majority cannot overwhelm themselves enough to be bothered so they waste all their time digesting the system given to them and just keeping their eyes on the very slow but sure to be had prize at the end of the road.... That you wasted half of your life for, btw. Unless you're born with a silverspoon. Point blank. Great songs. 👍 Thanks for this one and your band is onto very great things!
