1st Amendment of TISS constitution: Whenever decided whilst recording the podcast, that the color black shall be worn by Varun, Aadar, Neville, Kautuk shall not be informed therefore leading to costume mismatch and disturbing the Zoom frame.

Honestly, don't take this the wrong way... But your podcasts have helped me sleep for the past 6 months when I was struggling with insomnia. I would just put one of the podcasts I have seen before and it was like the perfect white noise for me. So, thank you so much for unknowingly help me beat my insomnia ❤️

@ShubhamMitra bro that's insane, just that I have met very very very few people who knows and saw that movie 👍👍
India dropped out of the running in hockey because they shifted from grass fields to artificial turf. Because no matter how smooth you make it a natural field is a bit uneven and slows the ball down, however when the shift to artificial turf happened the ball use to glide along more smoothly and faster and the indian players couldn't keep up with the pace. Coupled with the lack of facilities and the boom in cricket, hockey got pushed to the sidelines

My favourite thing about India was articulated by someone I know: if aliens were to land on earth and they wanted to see the entirety of the human race, you would have to direct them to India. The only country in the world that has every face of humanity and nature, at its very best and worst and everything in between, living together under one republic.
I am going through stress and loneliness but watching you 4 just makes me feel so relaxed that i don't feel alone and i have 4 friends with me virtually who are doing panchayat with me. Thank you for doing this. Cheers to all 4 of you❤

Can you do a podcast on women who contributed to humanity. As Kautuk said contributions of many get lost and only a few names are remembered, and that has particularly affected women over the course of history. Would probably be great learning for the four of you as well.
India's diversity is what makes it so appealing to me. Love from Pakistan.

In terms of hockey, one theory I heard in school was that the introduction of artificial turfs was detrimental to our game. Dribbling and skills which India was known for was taken away and it became a more technical game due to the surface. We hardly have any artificial surfaces in India which is why it became difficult for our players to compete.
So, I’ve figured out the Holy Trifecta of interacting with Neville: Blush worthy Compliments, A Woman who is low-key an Aaron Sorkin creation and Proficiency in ‘Fast’ Maths.

Rise of Cricket over Hockey or football in india can a good case study. Hockey was big in North India, Football in Calcutta, while Cricket was only popular in Mumbai and south cities till early 80s. It has a lot to do with Mumbai being the financial capital and cricket rising above other 2 post 1983 World Cup win. Economics drives these things.

1980 is the last we won an Olympic gold in Moscow, many countries didn't participate in tht Olympic at the height of cold war, by then our decline had started and the dominance of European teams, some attribute this to the astroturf grounds

Hockey moved to astroturf, and India didn't have the resources to invest in astroturf. There are a bunch of complicated factors but this one has a significant correlation. Since the International Hockey Federation (FIH) altered the rules to make synthetic astroturf the mandatory playing surface for international hockey tournaments - we were ruthlessly disadvantaged.

The real reason why Indians have been obsessed with cricket actually comes from the point of cultural oppressions, throughout the time period that Britishers ruled over us this game was set as a factor playing major role in hierarchy. Cricket Initially wasn't a game rural Indians could play. Thus this game wasn't just foreign but a standpoint to show status as well in times of gilli danda and hockey. With time the obsession of the game only got bigger enough for other sports to come of as small. Digitization and mass media did play a part but it's got alot to do with the inherent oppressions aswell. Alot of movies have only justified this especially "Lagan". However it's beautiful how something that started off to justify class hierarchy has now reached every street, how almost every father at some point does dream to see his surname on the Indian jersey. However today the game is such an inherent part of our culture today that it is the key establishment of father-child or sibling relationships and has kept adapting with changing times in it's format. Be it T20 or IPL the game has commercialized but because of how intriguing and emotional it can be. Mahi's winning six, Yuvraj's six sixes in a row; watching two same surnames play in one team. It gives an emotion high and unites. Moreover that is what does cause the obsession.
Props to Kautuk for making an effort and changing the angle from the 442 episode
Hey Varun and people. Please do one on 'Coincidences'.. There are many historical stories and I guess pesonal stories would be abundant too
