BAWA was so happy talking about the early days of phones
Congratulations on being voted the Best Podcast by a Comedian by DeadAnt 👏🏽 P.S. Aadar should win Best Zoom Background by a Comedian.

Aadar should win best jokes getting ignored by other podcast members award
Hii tiss podcast, I have been watching all your episodes ever since the days of SNL. And today when I saw you I felt how times have changed for me since then. Right now I am desperately trying to get into a decent college. And everyday is a fight for me against my mind. I have no friends left. But I am trying to look at positive side of everything. In this age of unlimited content, waiting for Tuesdays is such a bliss for me. Today while watching this, I can't help but cry at the fact, that I am enjoying some virtual peeps company who are total strangers to me and still something feels home. Maybe it's because tiss has been part of my life since a long long time and hence the familiarity of this podcast staying here when everything has changed and lost gives a sense of stability. ❤ How bawa is cynical for grammer and hunger head for etymology of everything and him being born in dinasaur s era, how Adar is out of the world silly and his love for literature and changing his bg into bizarre things, how Kautuk comes as such a sophisticated person with always something interesting to say, and varun acting all weird, is just so so so fun, is NOT an ambivert, the way he tells everything, his love for astronomy, him constantly waiting for that casting directors call and his newly formed wordsesh. Different personalities one beautiful conversation. And these insanely clever thumbnails. Love all this. 🎉
I found this podcast or vodcast like 3 months ago and now I have gone crazy watching you guys. 😂😂 You guys are amazing

20:49 Thanks Neville for making us bengalis feel represented😭
Congratulations on the award feeling proud to be a TISS army 🎉
Happy to see nevill happy
15:39 - so beautiful to see Neville glow up when he talks about his mom ❤❤❤❤ hugs Bawa!!

thats what I noticed as well
As a "Gen z" era born , i loved this history lesson
Who knew a simple thumbnail could tell such a hilarious tale of phone evolution! It's like a 'phones through the ages' in one image. Kudos to the mastermind behind this creative and chuckle-worthy snapshot - brilliantly funny and informative at the same time!"
I was doing the dishes, and the way i have laughed when Adar said "sir apka wire jal gaya" .....hilarious 😂
Ok but when I saw the notification, I had a feeling there’d be separate segments on failed romances and blank calls as well as some reference to “Is your fridge running?”
Great joke by Adar being ignored is permanent. Teen takle one two one two
Am I the only one who was expecting a ghost story episode with Hoezay , as Halloween literally fell on a TISSday.
19:00 this nightmare. The itemized bill. It's like the CIA busted you. as a girl I can imagine the horror. This is such a scary nostalgia.. abhi bhi goosebumps aa gae😅.
5 minutes into the episode and I'm already crying laughing 😭❤
24:05 Aadar smiling because of his green screen change while Bawa is explaining is me during lectures 😭
I literally screamed out,”thank god” when I opened KZread and the first suggestion was a new tiss video. Thank you guys
Straight video call is like starting a war
Since you guys talked about being distracted by phone when one is studying, many countries have studies on iPad. I look at these kids and be like how are you not distracted
Ericcson Ad - one black coffee please was done by Rajiv Agarwal & I meet him daily. He is now old but very humble
Loved Nevill's explanation of pulse dialing to tone dialing 22:10 and then the bhankas after that
Couldnt you have done halloween today - Ashish
Varun and Aadar may start this Improv Battle between themselves but Kautuk dying of laughter in the corner represents us and is funnier lol
55:16 - Guys you need SMS to verify your UPI/Banking apps. 😂
56:21 I remember being specifically told not to use data when abroad so I was mostly on call. The bill was still a lot 😂
shaktiman getting alien handy is on my list of things to see before i die
16:28 I fondly remember the Cordless phone we had at home. They were really cute.
All the likes from Arunachal Pradesh here plz.. (Hey TISS family just to inform tht there's fan of this podcast from the easternmost corner of our country) Literally from the place which receive country's first sunlight 🌞🔆
a pure personal stories podcast after a long time, enjoyed thoroughly❤
The conversation is great but the nostalgia trip of 'hua hua hua main...Bust' was just crazy!
Arey oh Halloween/ ghost stories episode ka hai?!!
Guys please never stop doing this pod❤❤❤❤
Next episode " FRIENDS". Rip Matthew perry
Hey guys I am gen z,me and my friends all know abt cordless and telephone and telephone exchange Sometimes I really feel bad that mostly all of us know abt things like these but millennials think that we don't know abt things which are bit older
I really REALLY hope Varun sees this comment, because I have a message for Bawa (possibly the others too): Listen, I was born in 2002, I am GenZ, and I STILL make the telephone symbol📞 when I say "phone" 😂 I'll be 22 in a few months, but most of us in my age did not grow up watching youtube; me and my brother (he's 32 now) used to watch shaktimaan in the old push-button TVs.. Just wanted to say y'all aren't thaaat far behind😂❤ Also love to all of you❤

Congratulations on winning the best phodcast bois. Btw the alien is Kekda-man.
45:02 Bawa casually resting his pen in his ear while talking.. because why not
The irony that I watched the segment where they spoke about using the phone on the toilet while sitting on the toilet
exactly what i needed today, post a really difficult couple of days
Congratulations for the Best Phodcast Award bois 🎉🥳

To the last question of Aadar, I think there were late adopters of mobile phones as well in the early days, who eventually had to catch up !!
That 'Mummy rakho phone me hu" hit so hard❤❤❤ This topic is so close to everyone's heart, especially to the people who have used epic phones😂.. you guys are the best always a fan of TISS but was also fascinated by SNL😍 thank you so much guys for being here always. You have evolved like our phones😂
Ghost steream would be more fun as today is halloween 🎃 day
Congrats Broskiis for the 3rd win in a row....❤
Genz listening to this podcast: Kuch samjh nai aaya, but sunn ke achha laga😂
40:05 - 40:25 PEAK varun-aadar conversation 40:08 "tera baap doodh kyu deraha hai?"😭
Loved this topic guys. A really learnt a lot of history . Loved all 4 of on this one , varun
3:10 the evolution of why gesture change 3:50 no concept of phone while star wars 6:20 phone device, not call anymore 8:30 evolution 10:00 10:35 first number operator code 12:25 14:00 manually connecting 15:00 writing numbers
Why does bawa look like the news anchor / actors during interview in 90's 🤣
early throwback, but your podcast is an addiction, the good kind
Somehow the "Bawa is old" jokes never get old
Never stop TISS please
I started watching TISS a year ago. I have a stupid question. Why does Bawa’s avatar in the intro has a beard? I’ve never seen him with beard.
I still have a landline in my home and ofc i remember it
The concluding part of the podcast was proper Sci-Fi. It’s a nice sketch idea.
Marques Brownlee has a great video series on Retro Tech where the Dynatac is featured. It’s so fascinating! Also, that huge phone is considered campy now.
when is the next ghost stories episode, hoezzay ne bhi band kar diya hai
The technology Varun was talking about is Pranav Mistry's "Sixth Sense technology"
21:18 Neville will become Nilesh or Naveen.[I think he told this story in some milestone ep(50,100,150), that originally he was going to be named Nilesh or Naveen]
Why have you not discussed about the issue of two people calling each other at the same time and not being able to connect.Thats the single most annoying thing that needs to be solved!
Someone please share the link for the max save charger mentioned by Varun
I still remember 9-10 mobile numbers for survival
Its 2023, why is podcast still on zoom? Bring back the couch!!
Fun fact: pulse dialing was similar to rotary dialing. When you dial 5 on the keypad, the telephone would type the button 5 times, and that is why earlier while dialing you would hear a faint tick tick tick sound. Tone dialing is what we use today which is different tones for different keys
Very nice episode!
At one point of time - there was a place outside Borivali station where "china phones" were sold per kg 😅
best TISS thumbnail 🤣🤣🤣
also, 59:46 it was pranav mistry with sixth sense technology... now they've created other device called as AI clip which is similar to it...
The OG BELL-BOTTOM episode.
this episode took me back to memory lane also remember days when there used to be no electricity fr days if the transmitter exploded like fr 2-3 days no electricity at all
People wax poetic with ‘Snake’ on Nokia but does anyone talk about how revolutionary ‘Bounce’ was?
23:36 president calling and saying me tere country p[e bomb daal raha hai, cut to varun : Kya? nahi chahiye credit card... bhagg...
I am watching this on my fridge screen while washing dishes 😭👍
I still have BSNL Landline Connection with a Cordless Phone in my bedroom and the wired line in the hall. Max relate to Bawa through out the podcast.
There was a number 646, when you dialed that it would ring you back.
8:39 Bawa casually flexing iPhone 15 pro
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics provides a tool for this calculation, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation calculator. Using this tool, we find that $4000 in 1983 would be approximately $10,456.96 in 2023, adjusted for inflation.
49:50 I listen to my own voice notes and I like making up a funny voice if the occasion calls for it.
The second most important message sent on a phone in the history of humanity is - "Anarkali ka phone tha, Ice Cream khaana zaroori ha!"
1:00:15 Now with the latest Apple Watch, you don’t even have to touch the screen anymore to accept or decline a call. It’s already an Accessibility Feature but now it’s mainstream.
Back in the school days guys used to be called by their second name. Usually it was surname but one guy was south indian and had no surname, so he was referred to by his father's name. Other guy once called on his landline asking "ABC" hai kya. Now, his sister picked up the call and got offended because she thought this other guy was referring to her dad and not her brother. :P
Bigg love from Florida ❤❤
Yaar not discussing caller ID .. when mtnl / bsnl would charge for it
Varun will inact every new scenarios getting discussed and Kautuk laughing A$$ off is just so great to see
Sitting on the pot and watching this podcast on my phone😅🙈
That alien is KEKDA MAN!!!!!
In Thumbnail 🌄 KAUTUK looking like PARTHIV PATEL 😂
You guys didn't discuss about the yellow pages!!
drinking game: have a shot everytime baba stutters: par par par... main main main rhythm: we dhan dhan dhan we .... to. to to (im def high)
5:30 "chanakya" oh yes the GREAT CREATIVE DIRECTOR
From Canada I appreciate video calls as I can see my family received week
Mast tha after a long
kautuk is aging backwards
Appreciation for joke at 46:50 🤌🤌 🤣🤣🤣
Idk I enjoy video calls. They’re fun! Also, you can have fun stickers and effects.
Does anyone remembers what happens when you dial 1515 on a Landline?
i voted! 😍 congratulations you guyss!❤️❤️
