The Intel 14900KS is HOW EXPENSIVE?!

Ғылым және технология

Intel 14th Gen is far from Intel's most popular CPU launch, but when Intel Raptor Lake fatigue is setting in, Intel thought that the thing we need is MORE Raptor Lake, with the Intel Core i9 14900KS! While the Intel 14900KS leaks are rather fresh and light on detail for now, we really don't need to know much to get an idea of the Intel 14900KS specs and Intel 14900KS performance.

I got mine specifically because its the last of its kind. I upgraded from the i7 9700k to the z790 Meg ACE and an i9 13900k. It didn't perform the best in terms of 13900k but I just sold it for 400 and got the 14900ks. ..my 14900ks is amazing. 6.0ghz all core @1.35v and full load hasnt gone past 82c. I also was able to take my 7200mt ram up to 8000mt but it wasnt fully stable and I didnt feel like tweaking it so settled with 7800mt cl 36. Its a very good chip. Ill upgrade to a 18th gen but not anything in between😊

When are they gonna switch to ARM?

Central Computers is selling them for $699.99. So that price is likely a place holder, MC always does this. They usually drop the price on launch day, up to the hour before launch. Like they see what they can get away with. $700 vs a $650 7950x, it's not that unbelievable. Given the insane 6.2Ghz clockspeed, the thing will be pretty fast for gaming at the 5.9Ghz all core.

I honestly don’t know why anyone would buy Intel these days. I can’t think of a single use case or advantage over AMD.

I bought 2 months before the 7800X3D and it was my first build. Even after the first month or so there were the exploding CPUs. We know now it was the mobos but still, at the time it was iffy

Better top end performance, and power? More headroom, ability to overclock to the moon... Plenty of reasons. They are also actually quite easy to keep under 70c in gaming.

I think the price is more than fair. Well, other than the $50 increase over the 13900ks, but inflation is hurting the economy all over, so I can at least SOMEWHAT accept it. Anyways, 700-750 seems fair given GPUs can be 2.5x even more expensive, and the CPU is just as important for a PC, and just as technologically impressive. Besides, this is meant to be an enthusiast product, and unless you want to tune a high binned chip, there is literally NO reason for a normal consumer to even think about it. The people that ARE interested, however, the price isn't an issue. Forgeting all that, though, its LITERALLY the LAST CPU of it's kind. The end of the i series family, and the highest factory clocked chip to date. Its still a good purchase even if youd just want it for collection reasons.

Best binned and could be last monolithic consumer chip. Not worth it if you want to game but I can see how some people would buy it because it’s the last of its kind.
