I was an Apostolic Preacher when I first heard John. I would never even listen to a Trinitarian Preacher. Paul Washer somehow popped up in my news feed. I was shocked at his preaching, so I started to listen to more. Well, John videos started to show up and I would get lost at amazement at his sound biblical teaching. The only issue I had when John was his refusal to acknowledge speaking in tongues. I email him and his team sent me his teaching on Acts 2. I started to listen to John in January of 2014 by July of 2014, I had renounced my Apostolic indoctrination. Surprising I went to a church and the guest speaker that Sunday was Steve Lawson, I had never heard him at this point. He preached about the Five Solas, I am at that same church today and have dined with Lawson since and my current Bible is signed by John. I thank God for his loving grace and kindness he has shown me. John, Paul, and Steve I have met, now I want to meet Voddie. These four men have transformed my biblical understanding by the power of the Holy Spirit working in them.

RC Sproul has had a big impact, too. My pastor is also excellent. I first heard John Macarthur in the late 1970's. I was a missionary in Papua New Guinea and a fellow missionary gave me cassette tapes with John messages on them. I cannot remember what he was teaching but it thrilled my heart. Later , when my wife and I were by ourselves, far from any source of Bible teaching, John's messages were what fed our spirits along with our own study. In the 1980's when we were back in New Zealand for a 'home assignment' time, I shared about John's teaching with others but most didn't want to listen to what I had to say about his ministry. The interesting thing to note is that now there are two churches in the area, where the pastors have been through Grace academy. God gifted John with the gift of teaching but he has also given many others the same gift. It is up to the young men to learn from his habits. He is a man who studies the Word of God, he uses a systematic teaching style not only a style that is available to him only. Men of God, learn from John but trust God to use you just as he uses John and others who are faithful in teaching His Word.

I assume, Dr Lawson, that you had been listening to Pastor John before you visited the church the first time 40 years ago, but I find it interesting, even somewhat humorous, that you remember the exact place and details of the sermon when you first sat under him in person! I have heard that a person who first hears John preaching as an adult almost always remembers the text he was preaching from. My husband and I first walked into Grace Church as young married with 2 small children on the second Sunday of February 1972, and John was preaching the Gospel of John, chapter 17:20-21. Not sure how many verses he covered, but those two verses especially impacted me! We are so thankful for his ministry. Our lives were forever changed by it.

years ago when I first started hearing MacArthur on the radio I thought he was kind of an arrogant blowhard. But God kept putting him in my way. Slowly but surely the preaching and teaching of MacArthur began to sink into my thick skull. One day it FINALLY occurred to me it wasn't arrogance I was hearing in MacArthur it was GOD inspired confidence in a man that was gifted by God to teach His word with authority. I can say without doubt now that John MacArthur's God inspired teaching has solidified my faith in Jesus alone.

I immediately thanked God, I was not only grateful, but amazed at how obviously God centered he was but how much this man must be loved by the Father to have been given such a gift. Maybe Steve is right, its as though the Apostle Paul is preaching. The only question I have for Steve is this: is John as humble as I have read he is? I would think so. Thank you Steve, you are going to be used mightly by God as well. God Bless you both through the Fathers beloved son the Lord Jesus Christ. May you always preach through the Holy Spirit. AMEN.

That's the most biographical information on John MacArthur that I've ever heard. JMac is all about the Text and tge glory of God. He's most respected by me because he doesn't insert personal anecdotes or comedy. I have no idea what car he prefers or what vegetable he doesn't like. Has he ever been to Rome or London? God knows but I don't. Actually there's the one anecdote about football; a kickoff return. Chris Berman could have gone to the concession stand for a hot dog and a coke. But now Dr. Lawson says he's a golfer. That's interesting and I think very suitable for discussing theology on the way. A good match.

He has made a few very important errors in some of his Sermons. I have listened for 9 years . Praise Lord Jesus for the introduction. It became obvious that MacArthur puts a lot of work in preparation for his preaching. Some particular sermons are priceless. In my listening I would suggest both have been been blessed with special gifts for preaching and their committment to develop is a credit to them both. God bless

Any kind words of the preachers I write of is simply because of how God taught me through their ministry. I am fully aware that the best of men are very much, still men. Some of you have to stop being so critical and understand that as Christians we crave these encounters when Christ saves us. These friendships, these preachers both dead and alive have warmed my heart and they are my brothers and sisters in Christ and my NEW FAMILY! If this is not your boast, please examine yourself. No one is worshipping another…Dr. Lawson uses dramatic terms when he is trying to make a point…when he says channeling he means that Pastor MacArthur has so thoroughly studied the text he takes on Apostle Paul’s character (all stemming from The Holy Spirit & Christ as the source) THIS IS WHAT ALL PREACHERS SHOULD STRIVE FOR, then their wouldn’t be so much sin in YOUR CHURCH EITHER. The music is just fine (For the Gospel does an amazing job on their craft while keeping sound doctrine as the #1 focus), Costis chair is fine smh. Please STOP complaining about miniature things, it is not sign of biblical maturity at all… God in this mercy has used these men to save a sinner like me and I will speak up for them at all costs because they are true Christian and my spiritual family forever❤❤❤

Lawson says that MacArthur's pulpit is the greatest one in the world-the earth? Wow. His comparison of Mac...& R. C. Sproul was demeaning I think. I have embraced (& found) the Reformed faith I embrace by profuse reading/study of the Bible & prayer immediately upon conversion. Following that I believe I was providentially led to the finest Reformed preachers as Albert N. Martin, discovered Spurgeon's MTP and other books by Martyn Lloyd-Jones, the Puritans. etc. Dr. Sproul in the early 1970's was and is over 50 years ago amazing to me and he remains on the top of my list with the others I mentioned. I never heard or thought of MacArthur as a Reformed preacher. John Piper and Mac... were on a program and Piper said a thing about Mac. re he, Piper, never knowing Mac. was a Calvinist, or Reformed man until late in his ministry. Now, Lawson may think Piper has a lesser/different sense of humor than Mac. too...I don't know. Piper kindly chided Mac. re his being a closet Calvinist...it was a pleasant talk the two had. So Johnny Mac. understands we are regenerated before believing and that is great. I do not see any complete Reformed thought except at a Ligonier conference. I was caught up, thankfully for a very short time in my 1st church; fundamentalist, Scofield Bible, etc, which I quickly fled from-the secret rapture & schemes of strange things. I do not believe there are very many Reformed ministers at all, just as there are not many true Christians. The closest one we have that is a most excellent preacher today is probably Sinclair Ferguson, of Scotland, Al Martin, retired...a few others too, gone from us now.

She was seeing a tent in heaven it was yellow but colour is not really colour and full of light everywhere was light. My mum spoke in tonuges and I remember once we were able to recognise the language was Sanskrit. Beautiful day she was for full day I guess or 3days fully speaking in tongues. Understand of Holy Spirit is deep . So ! Simple thing mom says if people don't have it . They don't know it. I say this sentence also when they disrespect Holy Spirit which people find offensive.

Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

New Covenant Whole Gospel: Who is now the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary? What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below. Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. 1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. The following verses prove the Holy Spirit is the master teacher for those now in the New Covenant. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Mar 1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost. Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Act 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. 1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 1Jn 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. He is a great teacher but I do not understand his saying the church no longer has apostles and prophets, because Ephesians 4:11-13 says God gave 5 ministries to the church, not 3. He gave them to perfect the saints for the work to edify the body of Christ UNTIL we all come to the fulness of Christ and unity in Faith. I do not think all the church is there yet??

    3. Atonement is the brain and spinal cord of Christianity. Take away the cleansing blood, and what is left to the guilty? 5. If our Lord’s bearing our sin for us is not the gospel, I have no gospel to preach. Brethren, I have befooled you these thirty-five years if this is not the gospel. I am a lost man, if this is not the gospel, for I have no hope beneath the canopy of heaven, neither in time nor in eternity, save only in this belief-that Jesus Christ, in my place, bore both my punishment and sin. 6. The chief aim of the enemy’s assaults is to get rid of Christ, to get rid of the atonement, to get rid of his suffering in the place of men. 7. There may be some sins of which a man cannot speak, but there is no sin which the blood of Christ cannot wash away. 8. There are some preachers who cannot or do not preach about the blood of Jesus Christ, and I have one thing to say to you concerning them: Never go to hear them! Never listen to them! 2. The heart of Christ became like a reservoir in the midst of the mountains. All the tributary streams of iniquity, and every drop of the sins of his people, ran down and gathered into one vast lake, deep as hell and shoreless as eternity. All these met, as it were, in Christ’s heart, and he endured them all. Charles Spurgeon quotes above

Yikes, this entire video is focused on exalting/elevating John MacArthur, and comparing him to the apostle Paul. Ummm. We must be careful when we exalt and praise and elevate other people. While I agree with some of John's teachings, he has really missed it on some core doctrines like Christian Baptism. It is evidenthhe is influenced by Baptist theology here and not what the Holy Scriptures teach. He conflates water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism, when the Bible clearly teaches in Ephesians 4:5 that the great commission baptism is the One Baptism which involves water during which the Holy Spirit places us into the body of Christ. Like the Bereans, we must take everything, including what John MacArthur teaches and hold it against the standard of the Bible.

Regardless of how many books he's written or how many sermons he's preached, MacArthur is currently an unrepentant elder who needs to be held accountable for weaponizing scripture to counsel women to stay with abusive men. Would it be possible for one or both of you elders to help with that? Or do you love a man more than God, and more than the injustice those women went through? Equal weights and measures.

@robertgates1837 there's an entire court case that is public and many of the seminary teachings are also public. GCC also knowingly supported this sexual predator in prison, so he could run a "prison ministry." It was a known ministry of the church. This is not taking sides. It's calling out sin where there is evidence of sin. This unbiblical marriage counseling strategy of reconciliation with abusers is not new. It's a systemic problem. It's absolutely narcissistic behavior on MacArthur's part to respond to believers genuinely questioning his accountability by suggesting that these believers are just trying to ruin his reputation. Nobody is doing that. God is exposing that he would rather believers, especially abused women, lose their trust in him as a leader than humbly address the issue. Repenting is only hard for narcissists & wolves. It should be something believers zealously do, especially if they've been called to feed His sheep.
