He uses a white ceramic detent ball and just takes a little longer for it to smooth out, but once it does it's really good. It's one of my favorite all around knives to carry and use.
I really really like the aesthetics of this one especially the milling on the blade and the unique (and not so easy to do) handle pattern. Love that the tip of the blade lines up with the pivot. It looks like the blade geometry is epic and with .008-009 on the edge - smoking. For me the refined machinery makes this the choice for me over the Rosie. Thanks for the vid!

Hey if it speaks to you then you know!
Dood I love the direction you have taken your channel. I’m really tired of all of the China junk I see everywhere else. Thanks

Thanks man!
That's a stunner. I'm told that the detent ball takes quite a while to break in.
Makes perfect sense to me why u like the grind lines on the blade. It's a perfect example of the craftsmanship that goes into creating a fine cutting utensil like the Lamia 👌

Yes exactly!
Have the same one ❤ good review
Those are all really nice knives, probably the best available.
Good looking knife. Thanks
Love the acoustics too!
Now that is a freakishly good looking knife.
I have the v3 with no milling on the handle. It's definitely a great cutter and one of the favorites in my collection. I'll probably have to add a milled version one day. 🤔 btw, the pivot gets very smooth when it breaks in.
That version of the Lamia is awesome! Wouldn’t mind getting one
Ahh, here she is. Was wondering when we'd see a review. Still hunting for the Mini Arius but I did have the Sypderco Valloton come off back order and ship yesterday. I was actually kinda bummed I was going to pull the trigger on the Katsu ZK04 before I saw the email come in. Oh well lol.

@doodysdaggers have you seen or handled a Katsu yet? Pretty interesting with the layered ZDP-189. Something like 67 hrc.

They still have a smooth titanium mini Arius on knifecenter. They had other variations that all sat for 2 or 3 days since like Saturday.

@m.houston6643 Has anyone ever called you a hero? Just bit the bullet and bought it. Knife center got a cool 1k outta me this week. Need to be done for a long while now lol. Thanks dude!!!!!

@@buckaroobanzai2551 glad I could help man. Honestly I definitely don’t feel like it helping someone spend 700 on a knife. 😂 I hope you like it though and it becomes one of your favorites. At worst it can be an expensive lesson. I keep telling myself I’m done for a while but it’s not working out too well haha. Hopefully I slow down sooner than later
Great video Doody! I always enjoy hearing your perspective on knives. 🔥 I may have tightened the pivot to much on the Lamia? The Pivot kept coming loose when I first got the knife. I added blue locktite and maybe went to tight on the pivot 🤦🏻♂️🤣

No that’s just how they are I’m pretty sure, it was the same with the one I handled at Blade show
Lil dot of KPL heavy on the detent ball and that rubbing sound will disappear, but I’m sure you know that 😁👊
Nice design! Blade has the same lines like the Hog House Veli
Awesome knife! Alex is a character as well!!!😂
love the overall profile on these...
Personally I prefer the milling and design on the Rosie, even though it’s not as complicated. Reminds me of jazz music.. Is it hard to do? Yes. Do I enjoy it? No.

Haha alright yeah fair nuff
That reverse flick sounds money
That's really nice but I think I would rather have a Rask or Rosie also for the money. Thanks for the review
The P is there in the logo, too its part of the bottom half of the S and the top of the K

Oh okay that’s cool. But sometimes it’s spelled out SPK and sometimes the P is hidden in there 🤷🏻♂️
I'm a big fan of Alex, I have a Gen 1 CruWear/3 Elmax. Only the Gen 1 are numbered and they're on the inside of the scales. After the Gen 1 the different Gen's can be distinguished by the logo on the inside of the show side scale. Obviously you know the Gen 4's are all contoured. I have COA's with the Gen 1/3 I have, but he could have done away with them. I love the design, it just screams user and boy can you use and abuse these things. They are meant for work fr! Only thing I would change on the Lamia to to make it smaller cause it's BIG in my size S hands.

That's very interesting? I want a Lamia with the PB washers to add to my collection. I received no COA with my nature grip, Lamia. It's honestly one of my best knives. The Lamia is better the more you use and handle the knife... It's hard to explain, but people who own these knives understand where I'm coming from? 🤷🏻♂️

@@BDevi0us I still run my Gen 1 on PB to this day!
Would you ever consider installing thumb studs on your Rask ? That's the only thing missing for my preferences, what's your thoughts Dood ?

This is my grail right now, i think the new batches all get a COA but i dont know for sure!
Thanks for the video. You seem rather uninterested with this one. I've struggled with pulling the trigger. May bite the bullet and sell it if I'm unimpressed.

I’d like one in the collection someday but no, I’m not like obsessed with finding one right now or anything
That is absolutely one of if not the best-looking knife I have seen. Having never handled either but just looks I would choose the Lamia. I know this probably sounds stupid but, wouldn't those lines on the blade cause issues when slicing? I have seen it on a few but never actually experienced it.
@doodysdaggers

Maybe minimally but I dont think it would be enough to notice
So trying to understand your definition of smooth compared to your Rosie. So you don’t hear the blade riding the detent ball on your Rosie at all? That’s wild.
@doodysdaggers
22 күн бұрын
On the Rosie you can kinda hear it a little bit, on my Rask it is completely silent
La mia ....There's a top less pinup chick on the inside the scale on this version. V3 had a pufferfish
