!! I have a slight correction to make, I said source of glucose and I meant sucrose. Ill definitely be referring to this in future videos as "simple sugars" as to not make that mistake again. Thank you Simon Sheep for catching that so I could fix it !!
This method was first introduced to me by @stunnin21 on IG, hes a pretty awesome guy. Id also like to thank NatureJohn from Discord for his assist with modifying this tek to feed corn.

yeah, quite the different format from my usual short videos. But I felt the need to be considerably more descriptive with this one. There are a few more videos out on this subject, and quite a few write-ups. But they all seem to be missing some key factors to this tek. So, I wanted ot to be more comprehensive and with some explanation as to why these often omitted parts are actually pretty important. I can see why youd say "why so long?" And Im glad you appreciated all the details. Thanks for watching, and even more for commenting! Stay safe, and Happy Cultivating 🤍

Hey y'all, rub a little silicone grease on your pressure cooker gasket to make it last forever. Silicone grease is non toxic, a great lubricant, and it prevents the rubber from becoming brittle and crumbling.

@@ETMIRAGE Thats an excellent question. As Ive never tried it, I wouldnt suggest it. Mainly because it is a nutrient source, and without it already having the hydration I feel it may be a problem sterilizing it. Also, I feel that popcorn, a closed ended grain, wouldnt do much to absorb moisture in the same manner vermiculite would. The allure of vermiculite is that it is non-nutritious substance that is very good at absorbing hydration, whilst still keeping that hydration available to the myc during its colonization phase. Also, without them being force hydrated it is likely you would not be able to expose their endospores for the sterilization run, thus heavily increasing the rate of contamination. Thats really cool that youve had success with the Instapot though! Again, great question, and I love the interaction with my audience😁 Stay safe, and Happy Cultivating!!

For anyone using an instant pot this is what i had to do for the same results. I used an instant pot since that’s the only pressure cooker i have. I believe they only reach 10-12 psi on high. I had to cook my popcorn on high for 60 minutes. The grain wasn’t saturated enough on the inside after checking it after a 30 minute cycle and then an additional 20 and then another 15-20. I had only a few burst kernels but the majority were plump and nicely saturated without bursting. Then i proceeded as directed. I then ran the sterilization as directed. I will probably invest in a old school pressure cooker to be able to better fit quartz jars and to have more control over the psi. I just wanted to add what i found for time run for the hydration cycle using the instant pot in case anyone else is wondering. Hope this helps.

PhillyGoldenTeacher ran a test with a variety of grains and brown rice was the best by far.

@@SomeGuy-vo7we that is a negative my good sir, you are mistaken. The video youre referencing was published over a year ago. PGT has since released a video (2mo ago) that illustrates Drippy Corn. In the opening paragraph of his video he states "Drippy Corn has sped up my colonization time twice as fast, so I think its worth sharing so you guys can try it out for yourself". Brown rice came nowhere near matching the colonization speed of Drippy Corn. Also to note, it is purported that corn kernels have a better nutrient profile, and the larger grains allow for better aeration. Appreciate you commenting though 😁
