24-21 KC. KC averages 24 ppg throughout the season while 49ers average 27. KC defense doesn't allow teams over 20 points and I think this will be the exception but only barely because of the diversity of talent on the 49ers offense. KC'd defense isn't getting the spotlight since Mahomes takes up so much of the spotlight but, I think that's going to be the deciding factor.

Pacheco is the reason we made it to another bowl. He gave us another dimension and took pressure off Kelce and Mahomes. Then there's Rice who is a banger. Both put out every play.

Who is this Thinking Football guy? I've given up on similar channels, by ex-QBs, because they show the same play 5 minutes straight, adding no information after the first minute. This guy's presentation is elite. Gives the viewer a deeper understanding in a quick look, but all within the theme of the video, and doing it succintely and clearly. Thanks TF guy, whoever you are. 🤩

Here's the reality: this is now officially Mahomes' league, and everyone else is just playing in it. And I say this as a Niners' fan who hopes a miracle can happen on Sunday and somehow SF actually wins the SB. But the truth is - we all know what we all know. Mahomes is going to get his 3rd ring, his 3rd MVP, and be all over the sports news hoisting the Lombardi and I'm going to be extra pissed off that he beat the Niners TWICE in the GD Super Bowl, LOL.

Since the one last year, he has shown that even when he has tape on him he can get it done at the highest level, while elevating his game when he needs to lead the team down the field. Which is funny because Reid's offensive gameplan in the SB was not that great. Mahomes took over in the 2nd half with his legs and even a few plays where he called the offense for a key play. If all it took for Mahomes to win a SB was for him to be the best game manager in 2024, he did so with Reid missing a beat.

Their offense was 15th this year. I don't see how they are inevitable. It took a lot of stupid penalties and yet another Jackson playoff meltdown by the Ravens to get out of that game with just 17 points and an inability to score in the second half. Buffalo missed the game-tying FG. Only the Dolphins game was truly convincing as the Sub-Tropical Miami team basically froze their cojones off.

After his final pass to Tyreek Hill fell into the Bengals' hands, Patrick Mahomes seemingly decided he would no longer turn the ball over in the postseason, so except for a single fumble in the following year's AFC championship rematch, he hasn't-just 1 turnover across his last 6 games (234 dropbacks). If they take care of the rock against the Niners they'll be a tough out, as any team would be: in the last decade, teams that haven't turned the ball over are 51-24 (0.680) in the playoffs, and the Chiefs are 5-1 (0.833) in that situation when Mahomes has started (the loss coming in overtime against the Patriots in his second career playoff start).

The "Where would Belichick be without Brady?" will haunt that Hall of Fame coach forever more. Will the Mahomes question become, "Where would he be without Kelce?" Travis does not strike me as providing the same sort of physical dominance Calvin Johnson once did, even though they're about the same height and weight more or less. But how does this tight end/oversized WR1 get open so often with so much space to complete the catch? When Kelce retires in 3-4 seasons, he may not have every TE receiving record since Gates and Gonzales have 116 and 111 TDs, respectively. Consider that after the arrival of Gronkowski, Brady went to five more Super Bowls, winning three. Win or lose in SB LVIII, will Kelce be the key receiver targeted by Mahomes again and again? That is an example of a rhetorical question, for sure.

Niners run more than just wide zone now. Having CMC as that talent gives them that luxury from years prior. I think the Niners will get to run at Chiefs front 7 even if Spags sells out yet again to stop a run happy team. But at the same time this Niners front 7 has been easy to run against and Pacheco will look to feast. I feel Pacheco runs/Mahomes playing ball control decides the game even though Brock and the Niners offense are more explosive. Spags just gotta get Purdy in key drop backs to cause enough chaos to keep the possession for the Chiefs.

Chiefs are pretty good against zone runs, it's power and gap that they struggle with the most. But if you're running that, it's harder to hide the OL like you can when running zone, which might be enough for the Chiefs to hold it. Late motion by the Chiefs' DL/LB's to change the front will be key to keep the OL and Kyle uncomfortable in what they're trying to block. The 49ers also play the tighest splits in the league, but that's begging the best blitzing CB's in football to do exactly that, on both run and pass downs Gonna be such a fascinating matchup, which coach goes against their tendencies to try and counter what the other wants to do

@@LoLXaxziminrax I think the Niners playing tight vs Spags instrumental use of his blitzing DBs will be huge to watch. Only other team that bothered Brock in those key passing downs was the only other team who blitzed/pressured using DBs well which were the Ravens.

The inevitability of Pat Man also favors the Chiefs offense vs Niners defense coached by Steve Wilks. I don't think Wilks has the acumen/experience to match Pat/Reid and the Niners have been pretty loose vs the run all year long. So someone on that back 7 needs to have a career game when the Chiefs are all in for Smash mouth Sunday. On the other side as loaded as Kyle and offense is, I think Spags has the guys on defense to keep up. And he's certainly got those change up looks to scare Brock in key drop back downs. To credit Brock however he got this far also knowing when to make best use of his legs. So maybe he's got one last track meet left in him and its all for the marbles.

@@levisnyder6585 And yet Brock wasn't a barn burner against defenses that could change looks post snap to get pressure. Spags showed it even when his defense had to keep chugging by OT. If anything Mahome's legs on 9 key carries helped the Chiefs offense going when pressure was coming his way was on with no open receivers.

Purdy's had 2 chances against a Chiefs caliber defense: Browns, Ravens. The Chiefs defense is at least as good as those. The AFC is just different this year. The Ravens absolutely bloodied everyone they played in the trenches until Chiefs bullied the bullies in the AFCCG.

We'll see. Mahomes isn't Joe Montana that NEVER threw a pick in his 4 Super Bowls, even with the old rules before it became a flag football league. Mahomes had one HORRIBLE SB against the GOAT where he choked with two INTs; one bad one against the 49ers where Tyreek Hill, the refs, & the KC defense saved his ass after throwing two INTs; and one good one against the Eagle pretenders. So what is inevitable is that there is a 66% chance that he has a bad game & 34% chance he has a good game. Without Tyreek Hill, I'm more afraid ref crew chief Bill Vinovich will decide the game like he has in the past. Final score, toss-up.
