Yep. And the close-up on the building is forced perspective. I guess a few of them are using mats and padding under his clothes. Great stunt work - although the torrent of water from that railroad water tower broke his neck! The one that puzzles me is grabbing hold of the car in passing. If you pause it just as his hand is being dragged along but his feet are still on the ground, you can sort of see that there's a technique to it similar to a Skyhook (AKA the Fulton surface-to-air recovery system), with his centre of gravity moving upwards at first before moving in an arc. And of course the speed of film exaggerates how fast the car was actually going. Fascinating stuff!

Buster Keaton had a natural knack for physical stunts. His parents noticed it, when he was a toddler & incorporated it into their vaudeville act. I suppose; it's a combination of situational awareness, self awareness, & physical prowess.

Sadder than that , his parents knocked him about on stage - as a toddler and got bigger laughs That blank look he wears, dates from him learning fast not to cry, but the audience found his frozen expression funny too. I'm glad he transcended all that trauma.

In the waterfall stunt, Keaton said in an interview decades later, that the rescued woman was played in the scene by a combination of the real woman actress, a dummy, and another stuntman.

In the waterfall clip, he played himself & he played the woman floating down the water as she comes over the falls. "That's a woman." Nope, that was Buster. He found he broke his neck decades later.

@@matthillfromcollege4109 I know but according to the Buster Keaton documentary Mr. Keaton put on her dress and fell of the waterfall. I wouldn't lie about something like that. I don't know exactly how he did it. I just remember at on epoint he was "her", they used a dummy for her, and he did more than any sane person would.
