THE IMPOSSIBLE FABRIC: Car Upholstery Stain Removal

In this video I show how to completely remove stains from the impossible car upholstery fabric, and restore it to perfection! Cleaning car upholstery can be much simpler than most people think, and in this video I specifically show some car upholstery stain removal. Removing stains from car upholstery is something professional detailers do, but it can also be done by the do it yourselfers! Meguiar's All Purpose Cleaner, and a scrub brush can work wonders! Here, I break out the vx 5000 steamer to show not only the do it yourselfers how to clean car upholstery, but also the professional detailers. The vx 5000 steam cleans car upholstery quickly and efficiently, and not to mention, it makes very light work of stain removal in fabric seats! If you struggle with cleaning stains in car seats, or stain removal in car upholstery, than this video is for you! The car upholstery that I am dealing with in this video is what I call the "impossible fabric in auto detailing." It is a material that is made with such a tight weave that it is extremely difficult to remove stains, and clean, but in this video, I break down step by step my exact process for cleaning the impossible fabric with this car upholstery!

I keep my powerful Shop Vac next to me when doing this, it will insure no seepage thru the material (just saying) and it also helps extracting the stain. It works great on Carpet stains also. Good Video.

Thank you for the video. I have two questions: 1. Do you know if it works on coffee stains? Someone else asked you that same question a month ago. 2. Other than the steamer you used in the video, would any other steamer work? Like a steamer for getting wrinkles out of clothes work? Thanks.

Great vid, as always! To share my latest revelation on this kind of upholstery cleaning, I have been using the Dobie scrub sponges you can get at target, to work on the really stubborn stains in this kind of material. Saturate the area just a bit with your APC, and scrub in all directions. Also, Meg's super degreaser is great for anything potentially oil based; food oils, lotion, makeup, sunscreen, even motor oil and gasoline!

Great video! So, I have done manual labor (residential cleaning) for the most of my career life and have already physically suffered the number of health damages/surgeries that come along with this line of work...my point is that I'm looking to avoid (as much as I can) the tediousness and repetitive physical movement that comes along with cleaning the upholstery. My plan is to remove the seat in my car and take the seat cover off, pre treat it and then throw it in my washing machine. On tip of that i was thinking about steam cleaning the foam from tip to botton in homes of removing some of the residue that keeps making the stain come back. Let it all dry in the sun and put'er back together! Do you happen to forsee any issues or problems I might have?

Thanks Mike! I appreciate those kind words! Kia carpet is difficult because, it is what I call the "impossible carpeting," and its not really carpet at all, it's more that the felt you buy for arts and crafts! Honestly, the best advice is simply, it takes more time, but something that is definitely effective with that kind of carpeting is compressed air! The Tornador air gun has really helped me in the past with that specific type of carpeting, but really compressed air of any kind will help a ton!!!

I have one question I was wondering how I can slow down the dust build up on the inside and outside of my car. I mean about 2 days after detailing my car it starts to come back. P.s I live in Las Vegas we have a lot of fine sand that blows in the wind. I know it's pretty impossible to stop the dust but if you know of any tricks to slow it down that would be amazing. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to even read this.
