    I was introduced to this concept 50 year ago via Zen. Lately I've been thinking that Special Relativity points to the non-existence of a NOW. So toying with idea of that there is actually no NOW and so pay attention not to stopping the "clock" but more on the constant flow of my limited thoughts and perceptions be they touching on my past or future - no matter when I can rise above look at them above the emotional clouds of distress/rumination. By gently bending my attention toward the breaths that are happening near my approximate NOW I can more easily find myself floating up in the clear, and thus function and feel ease in the flow of my approximate NOW - even when engaged in some reflection or planning. It's when the reflection or planning is unbidden/unwelcome and anxiety driven, that I get lost in the clouds and my functioning/feeling gets disturbed. Of course these disturbances only happen to one degree or another about 99% most days (:

  • @LisaLywulf

    @LisaLywulf

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@petercrist8912 That is a good point. Zen isn't necessarily about what you're discussing but in assuming that is your take. I know Time does talk about planning for the future and living in what he calls "click time" where if course you have to plan for things and make meeting or appts. We all can't sit on a bench and look at the sky all day, as he's also mentioned. Yes what your suggesting would probably be easier way to start for sure and maybe even cubrindo if that's what brings them peace. There might be people trying to jump into living in the Now or in zen, presence whatever term you would like to use and getting frustrated because their mind keeps pulling them into the past or they begin worrying about the future and then feel they have failed. Tolle says they're is a time for all of these things. Even if your thinking of something in your former life situation just don't identify with it mentally or emptiness because it's not real anymore. It's a perception based memory and most likely happened when you were living as your ego self, so it's even more colored with preception. It's great to see you've given things a lot of thought and shared it with people. It could be an idea that works for someone. I just noticed the special relativity part. Is that the quark physics their that nothing like an electrón for example exists until we look at it and time is relative for each observer? I know that these are all just parts of a larger concept which also includes quatum entaglement etc. But time I would say is definetly relative for each observer. Not just in the physics well I guess in a way its all the same but because because it holds a different meaning for each thank you for this food for thought my friend. 👍✨💫💜

    When I was a few years younger I did not have a strong vocabulary. But I always had a deep connection to visualization. I still do which is why I am an artist but I noticed that the need of feeling like I am supposed to identify something with its correct name, hinders my natural connection to it. I was recently diagnosed with adult dyslexia. I think differently I see differently and I speak differently. Now that I have accepted this, I am allowing myself to be how I originally started off. Less mind and more beauty. ❤️

    There is an artistic technique where instead of seeing things as three dimensional objects with a label and a name, one sees everything as flat abstract shapes of color and tone. It's a technique where it involves looking at things in an almost meditative way where your mind doesn't even recognize what it's looking at but just sees shapes of light and color. Instead of beginning a painting with outlines around the edge of objects, the picture begins with big flat abstract shapes of color and paint. This is what Impressionism was based on. It's a completely revolutionary technique compared to the old school traditional technique of seeing everything as a three dimensional objects in space and then beginning a picture of them with outlines drawn around the contours of the objects. If you want to learn more about this technique there is a book called "The Practice and Science of Drawing" by Harold Speed where he explains it in depth.

    Robert Anton Wilson used to talk about this-- understanding the difference between the food and the menu describing the food. Magritte also: "Ceci N'est Pas Une Pipe" and all that. But when Stanford did remote viewing for the CIA, they found they could put a word or map coordinates on a piece of paper and the viewers would see what the words or numbers referred to, not the words and numbers themselves. I saw Jacques Vallee speak live-- he was one of the co-inventers of the search engine, plus he had done remote viewing. He said consciousness seems to operate like a search engine. You use descriptors (or "pointers" as Eckhart might say) and the search engine or consciousness attempts to locate the address of the information that you are describing or thinking about. I THINK he was saying that matter and energy are really information and consciousness, but that may just be my interpretation of his message. Haha I think about this a lot in order to distract myself from full attention while convincing myself I'm still focused on attention haha

    It feels weird because the insanity of others becomes more obvious when being present in public. That’s why some recommend doing it alone in a room at first. I noticed that things start to happen around me when I do it in public, or driving etc. Some react in a crazy way around me but it doesn’t affect me at all.

    Well, assuming you are referring to genuine experience of Presence, heightened sensitivity to the energy of people...along with feeling simultaneously to be both a 'body' and the Consciousness around the body and even the larger environment... *all the while* maneuvering through talking with people and juggling doing this/that activity in a public context...yeah, it can feel unusual until one gets used to it. With time...yes, *time*, you get used to being in the "Now" while also be able to function among people in a way that doesn't feel quite as unusual, unnatural, or as though incompatible energy-consciousness forces (that of humanity versus Pure Consciousness, for instance) are in disharmony. In other words, things will flow more smoothly as you get used to it over time. Anywho, in the off chance you do read this: Best wishes. It can be disorienting, but always prioritize what feels most True for you...and the rest tends to unfold well enough over time ....even if there are the occasional storms along the way. Take care and good luck.

    the key is are you able to gaze at an object or whatever and keep your presence rather than have your attention drawn into mental activity. if you are able to gaze without any effort and still keep attention on whatever it is you are gazing at then it means your attention is separating from mental activity which is vitally important,
