So are you saying that the maneuver Mr. Chauvin used is in the Minnesota police training manual and specifies that the move he engaged in, a knee to the neck of a suspect who has been handcuffed while being also constrained by two other officers was approved and somehow his trainer mistrained him? If he was the only mistrained officer in this event, why fire the 3 officers who did only as they had been trained?

I understand not agreeing with Colin's protest, but why all the rage? He didn't spit on the flag or piss on a soldier's grave, he simply wants to make his country better (which is what a good citizen does) and fight for what he thinks is right. I don't think all the people who oppose him are racist, but it's unsettling to see all this hate.

Right. Let me add this; there have been people who have burned the US flag and walked out free. What can be a greater insult to the flag and the country than to burn a flag? But the 1st amendment protects a guy who burns it. I've seen that happen and people didn't get mad. I heard comments praising those guys because of the 1st amendment, however Kaepernick knelt, didn't show any disrespect but some wanted to have him for lunch or throw him in the dungeons, especially the orange who is friends with Putin, Xi and Kim. What a joke. I wonder if the rage came up because Kaepernick isn't white?

@@remital6834 can you prove it’s not true? Maybe I am just believing it because I want to and deeply understand and feel strongly about issues of racism, bigotry, misogyny etc. and feel that he brought a lot of attention to issues people need to examine more deeply! You can’t just say we are all Americans and ignore racism or other forms of prejudice… ignoring the problems don’t make them go away! Yes, we are all Americans and there would be more of the possibility of the American Dream being true of there were equal opportunities for equal talents! Unfortunately there isn’t and racism and misogynistic ideals along with unfortunate socio/political/economic circumstances brought about by historical reality leaves a larger group of minorities in poverty than white people… yes, I know there are poor white people too but if we are examining the macro level let’s acknowledge there are real disparities, please and thank you. Oh and if anyone is still confused about Black Lives Matter please let me explain to you that, that slogan doesn’t negate the fact that all lives matter! It’s trying to being awareness to the fact that certain forms of racism are still in existence and by saying ‘but don’t all lives matter,’ you again are reinforcing the incorrect notion that by saying we are equal you are somehow helping the problem of racism… you aren’t, your actual just reinforcing the need for movements like Black Lives Matter! Because you are refusing to see the reality of certain peoples lives and real issues of racism. And, yes, I am a white chick saying this. No, I do not feel that I understand as deeply or as personally the issues of racism that those who have actually had their whole lives effected by those issues understand them but I feel that white people need to at least acknowledge and listen to those who have experienced racism and that by trying to suppress those people’s voices and cover it up with ‘we’re all Americans,’ they are doing a great injustice and also stifling any real progress on working towards a future with less racism

I'm sorry but these "injustice, unfairness, or preferential treatment" are caused by several factors, of which none are due to pure discrimination. Most of those reasons are due to the extreme behaviors of multiple members from a same cultural/ethnic group. Unless you are talking about back in the old days, which would be different because everyone was ignorant back then. Now that America has a equal start, these negative history should be put aside and we only focus on the positive ones

Fabulicious_SyD there isn't a racism "problem" in the United States, there's an even mix between a century year old grudge and a huge misunderstanding that the police shootings were based on skin color. Based on the body cam footage from all available sources police can be witnessed giving several orders most of which to stop moving and show their hands which were disobeyed. If anyone, black, white, hispanic, etc were to keep walking away from an officer during a stop/investigation and that person starts reaching into pockets or waistbands, they WILL get shot, cops are trying to feed families and pay bills, they are trained not to take a bullet from someone who's acting shady. Being black doesn't give them a pass to disobey police or pretend like they have a weapon without consequence

It makes sense why they dont since people can't really praise every single player in the league that kneels or supports what Kaepernick is fighting for. Kaepernick was the one that brought awareness to the issue and started kneeling, and shortly after were followed by the other players, which is the reason why the media and fans acknowledge and cover him more than the oyher players who merely just follow and replicate his actions to support and bring even more awareness to the situation that Kaepernick ended up startimg in the first place. That is of course unless the said player ended up stating something about it publicly. If they do end up standing for the situation more publicly then they will get more acknowledgement than the others who just kneel to support it but don't end up doing anything else except maybe a tweet or two. But don't get it twisted, I do agree people should acknowledge others more when they stand up for the situation, but it just simply doesn't make much sense especially in this weird ass era of weird ass people. Edit: Wrote a whole paragraph for one small ass comment. I needa tell myself that it really ain't that deep 😂

I'll tell you what the kneeling did. I became an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan in 1975, when I was a 5 year old kid. I bled Kelly green, and then later Midnight green when the team changed colors. I was in it from Roman Gabriel, through Ron Jaworski, Randall Cunninghamm the "Two Hoyings and a Peete" period, McNabb, Foles...I was THERE, through all of it. I cried as a 10 year old kid when the Raiders beat us in the Super Bowl...then drank myself silly the night the Patriots did it when I was 36. Throughout my entire PLAYING career, I wore #66 in honor of Bill Bergey. But along the way, as an 18 year old in 1988...I became a Sailor, and then in 1992 a Veteran. What did the kneeling do? It made me choose between my football team and my BROTHERS. Because of it, I got rid of all of my Eagles gear. I had an actual bonfire in my backyard, and after over 40 years of rarely missing a game, I now have not watched one for 5 years. My team won the damned Super Bowl, after I had waited 47 YEARS for it to happen...and I did not watch the game. THAT's what the kneeling did. They asked me to choose between them and my BROTHERS. Well, I gave them their answer.

As a soldier you fought to protect your countries values and rights. One of these rights is the freedom of speech. If people express an opinion you disagree with and you turn your back on them, what does this tell about how much you love the rights given to the people by your constitution? Did you fight for your constitution or for appreciation? I serve in my countries military and I am always willing to discuss with people who have an other opinion. But even if I meet someone who dislikes the military, I accept his opinion. Because this is what I have sworn to fight for. For people who aren't told what to say or to do. For people who can criticise grievances in our country without the fear of getting discrimminated. Serving as a soldier is not about the people who thank you for your service, it a not about discounts in stores, it is not about a week of the NFL season to honour you. Serving as a Soldier is about serving and protecting all people of your country, no matter if you agree or disagree with their opinions. "We serve, so you can be against us."

But to me, people who booed and hated players for peacefully protesting racism implied that they supported racism. Which actually sounds ridiculous now that I think about it. It’s most likely because most people don’t know the meaning behind the kneeling.

Im from europe and have seen a lot of conflicts where people really disrespecting a flag of a country and it wasnt by kneeling down. I mean how cool would it be when the national anthem starts and everybody kneels down and the holds the arm of the next one. And then for such noble reason like regreting the crimes against christianity that where commited so so long in america. I think actually for a white man not to kneel with your brothers is more disrespecting to the values of america.

I get that he wants to makes it so everyone is treated the they want to be treated but but the flag is one of the most important materials in American history. That’s just wrong cause my uncle served in the military for 17 years.like if you agree if not I respect your opinion.🇺🇸🔴⚪️🔵
