Hebrews 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

But other than that.. absolutely ‼‼‼ God is EVERYTHING He has always claimed to be, whether people accept the truth or not... He won't force anyone, but He'll give them every opportunity to find Him and for that I am ever thankful and eternally grateful that we have such a good, good Father who simply wants the best for ALL His children #IJMNIP #Amen 🙏🏽❤🙏🏽

This quality hit me in a new way recently. I was going through boxes of old photos, cards, etc. I found personal Bible study notes/reflections that I had written when I first got saved at 18. I barely remembered writing it. But that same God is still exactly the same now that I am 55. And He has walked with me all these years. It's such a feeling of security in a world that continues to go more insane by the day.

Are those icons hanging on the wall in the background?

They look like portraits to me. Your walls at home must be blank. You’re mixing categories, this wasn’t in his Church sanctuary and i’ll venture a guess your living room isn’t one either. 🙏

@@Savedbygrace22 thank you for your insight. I didn’t realize that an icon has to hang in a church building. I believe the reformers would be shocked with how they are venerated. I lived in Eastern Europe and they had (portraits) of their hero’s plastered on the wall. They have a good argument for that, kind of like yours. But I’m sure you are not given to the futility like they are. Have a blessed evening

They are called portraits/paintings. And while I do not personally know Mr. Johnson, I am confident in saying that he is not worshiping them in any way.

@@Yesica1993 thank you for your reply. To be clear I am not talking about the message, for it is right out of the Bible. And for you to speak up for Mr. Johnson is a little bit presumptuous. I would refer you to John Calvin who would not allow a wooden cross in the church building because “the heart is a caldron, factory for idol worship.” He used as an example the serpent that God had Moses put on a pole. The people eventually worshiped it, for years. Great message, the (portraits) did not add anything to the truth. They were men of clay, servants of God. So to be clear I was not challenging the message at all, but the veneration of two men who have dead for a long time. I quote Charles Haddon Spurgeon and read his commentaries and sermons. The message is clear. Have a blessed day.

But wait, doesn't Calvinism change the words of Christ? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the -Father- Son but through -Me- the Father.

is it you who saved you? tell me, is any of your salvation your responsibility when you’re dead without being made alive through Christ? you don’t have any say in your salvation. humble yourself.

@@bry440 My pleasure. The 100% work of God is that we BELIEVE in His Son. He's predestined from the foundation that ALL who will BELIEVE in His Son will have eternal life. When we do BELIEVE the words of Jesus (they are spirit and life) He reveals the Father to that person. No one sees the Father without FIRST BELIEVING in the Son. John 6:29 NASB95 Jesus answered and said to them, *_"This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent."_* Matthew 11:27 KJV All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; *_neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him._* James 1:18 KJV *_Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth,_* … 1 Peter 1:23 KJV *_Being born again,_* … *_by the word of God,_* … John 1:7 KJV *_The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe_* John 6:40 NASB95 For *_this is the will of My Father,_* that *_everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life,_* and I Myself will raise him up on the last day." John 6:47 NASB95 Truly, truly, I say to you, *_he who believes has eternal life._* John 3:36 *_He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not believe the Son will not see life,_* but the wrath of God abides on him." Romans 10:17 KJV So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing *_by the word of God._* John 3:16 KJV *_For God so loved the world,_* that he gave his only begotten Son, *_that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life._* Yes, man has free will: 1 Corinthians 7:37 KJV Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, *_but hath power over his own will,_* and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
