+Rational Dreamer The only reason there are Igbos clinging to a prospective Jewish identity is because of an inferiority complex imposed upon them in the midst of being colonized by the English Judaeo-Christian culture. Let’s say there were some Jewish lineages that settled in their midst prior colonial contact,....mmmm,....so what,...big deal!!! It is NO reason for their entire culture to be characterized as Jewish in a broadly blanket sense. Most cultures have been influenced or impacted by a multitude of peoples to some extent. The English were a part of the Roman empire, and are believe to have a few Roman lineages spread a midst their peoples, but are the English making claims to be a Southern European people,....of Mediterranean stock,..no!!!!!! If there were possibly Jews scattered in the Igbo midst I can guarantee you there were so many more people made to characterize their identity. That is why they don’t speak Hebrew or Aramaic.

Most don't. European Jews continued to use Hebrew in their liturgy after their exodus from Israel all the way up until the 1940’s when they chose to revive the language in everyday spoken speech. Yiddish is a creolized language with Hebrew, German, & Slavic tongues. The Igbo did not preserve any Hebrew, NO African ethnic group did. If the Mandinka of the Mali empire could preserve Arabic script in the Timbuktu libraries why couldn’t the Igbo preserve Hebrew script. The Hausa even preserved an Ajami Arabic script deriving from the 15th century. None of the ancient depictions the Ancient Egyptians made of Jews were people of black phenotypes. Nor does the bible describe them as black. An analogy was even made in the book of Jeremiah about the Ethiopian(Cushite)can not change his skin color, just as the leopard can not change his spots indicating how they saw the Sub Saharan African as distinctly different.

I am a Jamaican born 1962. I'm here in the USA and I participated I. The DNA test on ancestry. The original results showed a high percentage relating to Igbo. I didn't know what Igbo was and was confused. The DNA result has been updated several times since. The new updated no longer show Igbo separately instead they combine Nigeria and Igbo in one.

I am a full blood Igbo and a full black man. We do have different shades of skin colours but nothing near what this man on this video or anyone one in his right mind would call white. We are full black people. I don't believe and I have never believed that we are from Israel. We can't possibly be Jewish. Yes there are a few similarities in cultures but that does not mean that we are Jewish. Throughout the world, there are other people from different counties far from each other but have a little similarity in cultures but they are not related at all. Now I have to add that all humans originated from Africa so the Igbos are older than the Jewish. There are a couple of Jewish artifacts dug up from somewhere in Igboland but that does not make us Jewish. Many centuries ago, Timbuktu in West Africa used to be a commercial centre and merchants from Middle East used to travel with their Caravans and families for months and sometimes years to Timbuktu. It is possible that some of them travelled through Igbo land. Such long trips always required many stop-overs and that time there were always inter tribal wars. It is possible that while these merchants were resting, sudden unrest started and they of course ran for their lives living some of their belongings behind which eventually were buried under the ground either as a result of heavy rain floods or earth movement. Many years later in the 1950s, archaeologists dug up a few items and everyone started shouting that we are Jewish. NO WE ARE NOT. We are Igbos of Nigeria West Africa period.

In Honduras we have the Garifuna people who are descendants of Nigerian slaves and indigenous people who fought the European . However the majority of Nigerian people don’t know this unless they visit Honduras. So having the Igbo people as descended the lost tribes of Israel wouldn’t surprise me. Ask the Christian missionaries who came to the newly form Nigeria after the war in 1960s. They found Igbo celebrating all Jewish traditions holidays and ceremonies. They were converted to Christianity after the war.

Convert or not G-d obviously had a plan for them in all of this. No one envies you. You only sound thoroughly confused. Why don't you just pack up and quietly go to the land you really believe you belong to? I am black and thoroughly ashamed of this black Igbo trying to demonstrate his whitishnessa! It is embarrassing.

I recall a very antisemitic teacher one time in high school looked at me and told me once, "You Jews think you're the chosen ones..." I smiled and replied "Why do you think we were chosen? Because we're special?" No my friends, we were chosen for the specific purpose of bearing the message of Torah to the world, to be represent what all of humanity should be, brothers and sisters regardless of race or color. One cannot affirm or disapprove of claims of Igbo relation to the biblical Israelites but I have some contributions that one has to critically look at to see if it's genuine. First, the biblical book of Genesis(beginning) has a variable to that in the Igbo language( jee ne sisi) , Exodus(not Hebrew but Latin). In Igbo( Ezi n'odu) this means: out(ezi) of a settlement(odu). The Hebrew make use of Hez(Hezekiah) while Igbos ignore the 'H,' which is obsolete. As regards to names, meaning and pronunciation, Nathaniel(gift of God) matches with the Igbo language. Nata(gift, collect, take, recover) and 'n' as a connector and El(God) but in igbo, El has an add-on which is Elu(Elumelu, Eluem, Eluma etc. Which also means God). It's noteworthy that the Hebrew name Chikdren based on issues as regards to the person or the family. Lets take Samuel. He us noted for answering the call of God. In igbo, 'Zaam' means to (answer) and El or Elu(God). The Lord Jesus was tried at a pavement call Bema(Latin) while in Hebrew, it's call Gabbatta. In Igbo language, gabata simply means a passage or a pavement or a to pass by. In names, we fail to understand that most are being pronounced in such a way that it suits the western world. Now, lets start with OBADIAH. I igbo, I is pronounced Obediya or Obadiya( a place that suits him or a place of peace).

Shalom - The Israelites scattered and spread to the four corners of the globe through different waves of exiles and travels. The book of Esther relates to us that the Israelites were spread from Africa to India around 2,400 years ago... Furthermore, we don't know if a tribe is the descendants of tens of thousands of Israelites or one or two Israelites who traveled and started a new family somewhere in the exile and had their family blossom and bloom like the family of Joseph when he rose to power in Egypt. The most important thing is that the people with this identity lock arms and unite for world peace.

When the Romans came in 70 AD (Luke 21: 20-22), over a million Jews fled into Africa by way of Egypt. If you read the Bible, you will notice that anytime our people fled persecution, we ALWAYS ran into Egypt to blend in. The Arabs took us first (research Arabian Slave Trade), then the Portuguese, then the Europeans took us into the New World. And you are incorrect about Jew being a religion. Jew is not like Christianity or Islam. Jew is actually an ethnic group (look up the definition). Jew is a term used to describe the people of Judea/Judah. If you read the Bible, the Most High makes this very clear. The RELIGION of the Jews is called Judaism. So the Jews = people of Judea, which are the so-called "Negroes/Blacks". The Jews who did not get taken in the slave trade are STILL living in West Africa. Today they are known as the Igbos located in Biafraland (Southeast Nigeria). Many African Americans, including myself, can trace our DNA to the Igbo people.

@Sotonye, are you also aware that the commonwealth of Virginia was known as igbo country in the 17th-19th century due to the huge presence of igbo enslaved people??..also Maryland, Georgia and South Carolina had igbo presence there as well. Kentucky and West Virginia also have recorded presence of Igbo enslaved people, perhaps when the two states were part of the commonwealth of Virginia.

You should read a study on google which basically states Yoruba and Igbo are 99.9% genetically similar. It is this unnecessary separation of the people of Nigeria that creates a lot of problems. We need to have love for Nigeria and all its decent people first and foremost as well as Nigerians all over the world so we can fix the problem of the puppet government controlling our country. This is coming from an American born Nigerian btw. Also you are right that there is a strong Yoruba culture in America and most of that culture is rooted in the church (rccg) which is pretty much worldwide now and the music industry which while still secular for the most part hardly resembles the system of destruction the white man uses on black Americans through rap music which if you handing noticed changed from something quite meaningful in the 1980s to quite satanic now.

I'm an Igbo, fully blooded Igbo. I don't believe that Igbos are descendants of Israeli Jews. Firstly it doesn't make scientific sense ,because the black gene is dominant over the white gene. So it rather makes sense to say that Israeli Jews are descendants of Igbo people. 2. Africa not middle east is the cradle of humanity 3. The of Ethiopian Jews is historically well documented because King Solomon married Ethiopian queen. Yes according to early Portuguese missionaries that came to Igboland in Nigeria, the 8th day male child circumcision surprisingly found among the Igbos is a unique tradition known only among the Jews. This still remains a mystery. Where did our forebears get this 8th day circumcision culture?? The ONLY possible explanation , (and this is my original concept) is that our ( Igbos) progenitor may have been a slave to a Jewish master in Egypt during the time the Jews were in ancient Egypt. It is a known fact that Jews kept slaves ,even their patriarch Abraham had male and female slaves. So according to my hypothesis. When God sent Moses to rescue Jews in Egypt, our progenitor Jew master may have settled him and left with Moses back to Cannan. Our progenitor after being discharged by his Jewish master, then migrated downwards from Egypt to settle down in present day Nigeria. He must have imbibed and adopted this 8th day circumcision practice from his Jewish master. Which he continued with his offspring. He( our Igbo progenitor) must have himself been also circumcised by his Jewish master. Other similarities in culture of Igbos and Jews can also be explained by this encounter. We Igbos are Africans, we are not Jews. It is inferiority complex to say that we are jews.

I think the Igbo are Joseph the beloved of Jacob-Israel. The tribe Joseph was who was sold into slavery. In slavery Joseph had 2 sons. In order words, through slavery; hardships, struggles, afflictions and perseverance that the people with Joseph personality will bear fruits to change their oppressive situations. Take note: Joseph named his firstborn, Manasseh which he gave the meaning "to forget my father's house". Lots of us are like that. When we have suffered by family members and one day life begin to look good wr use that seed of change as a means to reproach our people. Just like Joseph did. Secondly Joseph or better the afflicted and sufferer had another seed and he name him Ephraim, because now he said "God made me fruitful in the land of my affliction". Now God didn't say to Abraham, Isaac or Jacob that "you'll bare a seed to make you forget your people" instead he said you will bear fruits to be prosperous to make Israel great. So in *my opinion* not others opinions, so I stand to be corrected, it's my opinion that one of the reasons why Jacob put his right hand of Ephraim *fruitfulness* instead of the first born Manasseh *to reproach* is because he understood the names of Joseph sons. In order to stand with God's declaration of his forefathers "to be fruitful" he had to put the spirit (the spoken word of God) first before the flesh (the feelings of Joseph). "the last shall be first". If you are suffering that's a place to bear seed of victory, if you have the right mindset.

Only Igbo Jews and Ethiopian Jews did circumcision before the coming of the whites into Africa. But we do not mention Ethiopia in this record, because Ethiopia was never invaded or conquered by the west. Ethiopia is the only country in Africa that wasn't colonized by the west. What could I possibly have any questions about? Feel free to review the OTHER comment that I posted on this video topic. The Hebrews were scattered twice by The Most High. Once during the construction of the Tower of Babel. And the second time as punishment which is found in the list of curses within {Deuteronomy 28}. Again we weren't lost. Our history and heritage were taken from us partly because of a conspiracy by the Romans, Greeks and possibly the Muslims as well........ and partly as punishment for our ancestors NOT doing what they were supposed to be doing as Hebrews/Israelites. A good example of that is when the Israelites built that golden calf directly after being rescued from Egypt while Moses/Moshe was at the top of the mountain for 40 days talking with God and getting the 10 Commandments. Those Israelites (who saw those miracles from God FIRST HAND) built a pagan idol to worship because they couldn't wait a mere 40 days. 🕎 Shalom

Theological Research Institute Have you read {Revelation 2:9} at all? The Most High calls HIMSELF "The God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob" right? They were all related. grandfather, father and son. This is what The Most High wanted Moses/Moshe to tell The Israelites who were enslaved in Egypt so that they would know that he was telling the truth. In {Exodus 4: 6-7} we find out what Moses ACTUALLY looked like (contrary to what Hollywood portrays). Lot was the nephew of Abraham. Lot's daughters got pregnant by him because God had just destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and there were no other people around in the place that they had settled. If you do an internet search to see what the Moabites look like, you'll see images of Black people. Keep in mind that the "12 Tribes" or 12 "CHILDREN" came from Jacob/Yacob (who was LATER called "Israel" by angels of God - {Genesis 32:28}). Not ONE of those "12 Tribes" came from Esau. How do we KNOW it was an angel that gave Jacob/Yacob his new name? {Genesis 32:1} If you want MORE "sources", let me know please. And I'll be more than happy to lay them out for you. The way I see it, just because you guys have whatever you have already "mapped out" or whatever, DOESN'T mean that it's the truth. Besides that, you're using a page icon that's in "Masonic colors". I'm willing to bet you couldn't tell me who the very FIRST Free Mason was anyway. Shalom, Our school of thought does not include the works laid out by the church who changed the documents of Israel at the time of the Counsel of Nicaea. Furthermore, we have a tradition that the children of Israel were dark skinned, but we also have a clear tradition that over the thousands of years of wandering, the exiled Israelites married women of the regions they found themselves in. This is why we have people claiming to be of the seed of Israel from all ethnic backgrounds. The great unity that is upon us is not filtering anyone out by color and/or geographic location. Regarding freemasons, we should take back what is ours and not let them ruin any good arrangement of colors for the future of humanity. In the future, when the world decentralizes, there will be no place for secret fraternities. However, if we would like to arrive at such a time, we must have the good people's of the planet unite. What better platform than starting to work with the hundreds of millions who already identify as being the descendants of the exiled Israelites? Blessings

First what is the meaning of the word ( Igbo ) is correctly written as i gbo meaning "to mediate" because they are a nation of consecrated priests to mediate between God and humanity.
