    I read the book got through the first 10 pages went to the end saw how it ended and didn’t finish reading it. I am so glad that they changed the ending in the movie because I wasn’t gonna watch it at all until an author friend of mine said, watch it it has a HEA I absolutely love the music love the chemistry between the actors. The movie was 100 times better than the book that’s probably the first time I’ll ever say that.

    To the narrator, Solene’s daughter would not be in college anymore. After 5 years she would have graduated both high school, which would be in one-year, and college, which would be in 4 years. She’s done. That’s why 5 years was Hayes’ timeline for Solene to promise and revisit their relationship.

    Thoughts on this movie : 1) Things could've been shot better at times, the way it was filmed. 2) It's 100% hypocritical for guys to be praised in dating younger women and Women doing the same, to be thought of as Shameful. 🙄 - It's inappropriate whether an Older Man or Woman, to prey on young minors...if they aren't Legal and it's not A Real Relationship happenin'. 3) REAL fans should only focus on the music, not who the artist can/can't date...What they decide to do with their life, It's incredibly Entitled and Selfish to think you can. (I know they Do, like kpop fans, But they shouldn't! ) 4) There's always gonna be people stirring up unpleased comments, always haters...So, you can't try and make them happy and let them affect your choices. Just be a good person for yourself and Live YOUR Life, because they don't matter. 🙌 5) Wish there would have been more scenes with Selenè (?) and Hayes talkin' deep (they had that One scene.) The impact of the first part of the movie LOVED, also like how the daughter knew "Mom's got a life of her own too" and was able to talk to her like A woman goin' through relationship struggle. I liked that, she in return knew how it started affecting her daughter at school and all and broke it off. 6) I think the ending was, underwhelming, they set up the movie so nice 😍 ...With the "Meet- cute". The ending could've been done more impactful with the anticipation. None the less, Glad that they came back to each other after all those years.🤭 7) HANDS DOWN! ✋️ Better relationship than "Anyone But You" 👎 ...Also funny ironically, that they had a bit of an age gap too.

    Isn't it amazing how people, strangers with no connection to you what so ever, can rule your life? These teeny bopper girls and ignorant adults who sent her vicious emails are the epitome of jealousy. He is an entertainer, not their man. He owes those people nothing but a good performance, not his life. What they did to Solene and her daughter is incomprehensible. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors nor should it matter. Those pop stars that like to have women all over the place are doing what they choose to do. Hayes was doing what he chose to do and the media tried to destroy it. Did they really think she was going to stop and talk to them at her front door? I would have said something they couldn't print.

    Hayes friends in the band were always messing with his relationships. Just listen to what’s said at the pool and watch the 2 other band mates-one taps the other one when they see Solene come into the plane. Hayes grew up and grew out of that boy band…it’s a good thing in the movie. Ollie and that other dancer are trouble makers in the movie-perhaps immaturity and jealousy going on.

    The problem with the book is the author does the trite hackneyed device of the woman lying and saying “I never loved you”. Anything that relies on a lie to get its message across sucks and is certainly not feminist. The author is an idiot. She hated the ending of the movie. My understanding is that Solene is also unlikable in the book.

    I think that the ending is unrealistic. I don't think this would happen, to wait 5 years to get together and suddenly felt like no time went by. If he was a famous pop artist he would be subjected to new people and experiences all the time or new crushes at his age. He would have moved on, and the mother probably would have encountered new men at art gallery or through friends or be focused on her daughter.

    Solene needed a therapist, not sex. She is unstable though all the story. She had nothing in common with her lover except sex. I dont understand her devastations over the boy - what does she live about him? Is he careful? Is he Smart? He drags her into a long tour just because feels lonely. And SHE ACCEPTS? How about kids, do they want kids? This is such a weak story. Could have worked if made by Adrian Lyne or Playboy sketch. And the ending of the movie? Wow. Lets wait for 5 more years when we definately will loose hormones or ability to have kids (maybe). Then why meet again? You have NO COMMON INTERESTS people) You wasted your time.

    Well how many so called healthy relationships do you see out there where if you observe them, you notice they have little in common? Too many if ask me. Too many times it was cause someone was hot, not anything from a common interest standpoint. You see videos of girls asking B/F those dumb what would you do questions which reveal her insecurities ans craziness and yet the guy tolerated her behavior. Im like, if you took her package and placed it on a bigger woman whose not as attractive, would you still want. 9/10 times its a hard no.

    I don’t usually reply on KZread, but felt compelled to express my thoughts on your post. First, what may have started as “fun” and initial attraction between Solène and Hayes turned into a healthy, mutually respectful, and beautiful relationship. Play ... being playful, sexual play, banter, all of it … is one of the most important aspects of a healthy relationship and determines fulfillment and longevity. The two main characters have that piece of the equation so well with one another! … so much so that it’s almost tangible. The fact that they each waited five years for the other?? That’s not a “sex only” relationship. That’s deep love and understanding. With regard to the “having children” aspect, Solène already has a child, so perhaps Hayes would want a baby - or perhaps not. Either way, there are options for having children. Finally: NO way do hormones go away with a 20-something year old guy and a 45-yr old woman.

  • @mpb3481

    @mpb3481

    Ай бұрын

    @@TheMariaelena19 Beautifully put. Things may not have worked out that way for the author on whose memoirs this movie is based. But the screenwriters managed to get across enough of the characters’ feelings for, chemistry with and enjoyment of each other that it’s very plausible for them to wind up together. Having children isn’t a biological compunction, so who knows if Soléne wants more or Hayes wants any? And, yes, our sex hormones decrease with age because that’s how our bodies work as we slow down, but studies have shown that the sex drive is strongest in women from their late-twenties to forties whereas in men, it’s in their twenties. So actually, Solène and Hayes are pretty sexually compatible agewise.
