"Slow Ride" (and "Fool For The City", "My Babe" & "Save Your Loving") are still killer tunes! Also great album cover - inner city fishing Hah! So many memories...Never skated myself but I can dig the vibe...I remember Aldo Nova as an act that appealed to a crowd that wasn't all that into rock (at least in my circles back in the day). Same crowd who tended to like the Saga radio hits (and possibly Pablo Cruise) - I guess they weren't all bad😎. For the rest of us there was just something a little too 'smooth' about the music...I'd possibly file that Diesel tune under "guilty pleasure" - same with BCR...My parents were actually into that pseudo-disco stuff (Ohio Players/Commodores/Rick James/Kool And The Gang) back in the day. That's when I went into my room & put on the headphones... J Geils is one of those classic party bands, I'll never be able to separate them in my head from ZZ Top because of shared memories. In college one of the bar tenders at a big local bar always played "Flame Thrower" as the 2nd to last song of the night on Saturdays to signal that it was just about time to: "You don't have to go home but you can't stay here"
