    @noobleskthx Many larger diameter wheels are reverse drop center. Typically this is found in wheel sizes 24" and greater, but can be found on virtually any diameter. You must mount and demount reverse drop center rims from the back side or you will damage the tire and/or wheel. Glad to hear you use a bead depressor, it is a very powerful tool

    The mount/demount head on the Auto34 is entirely plastic. Furthermore, it rides slightly under the rim flange in an area where it will NOT damage rim edges. There is no part of the head the overhangs the rim face, unlike a traditional head. This tire changer is optimized for the toughest tires and most expensive wheels. You have to really work hard to damage those wheels with this tire changer!

  • @HunterEngCo
    @HunterEngCo11 жыл бұрын

    There is no gouging of the rim. What you are seeing is paste that is on the mount head coming off on the rim edge. It is virtually impossible to mar a rim with this mount head as it is entirely plastic. The benefits are multiple. A thin leverless mount head provides the most low force mounting and demounting available. Low force means reduced risk of rim and tire damage. Also, the mount head runs under the rim edge on the inboard side, not in a visible area.

    @thumasta666 While the Auto34 excels at low profile tires, it is suitable for all rims an tires. The built in damage protection especially applies to all aluminum rims. As familiarity with operation builds you will find yourself almost as fast on easy rims with the Auto34 as you were with traditional equipment. Thank you for the question.

    Splined hub wheels can present some difficulties because there is a drive pin on the clamping plate. The drive pin is designed to go into a lug hole which doesn't exist on splined wheels. There are two alternatives; 1) Remove the drive pin for these wheels. This will take about 5 minutes. 2) The drive pin is on a pivot and with some wheels you can just move it out of the way.

    I have seen a 285/30-19 runflat tire mounted by hand with an old school hunter tire machine. Granted, it was done by my coworker, who's strong as hell and worked for 2 years at discount tire. Even with two giant tire levers, and copious lubrication, it was a stressful and frustrating experience for him. I'm glad we got a machine similar to the one in this video. Less risk to the rim, tire and the poor guy operating the machine.

    As mentioned above, the mount head runs under the rim edge. This is helpful with painted wheels, although without question painted wheels take more care than any other finish. Good practices and plenty of lubrication can successfully mount these assemblies.

    I work with older conventional machines and often find that I have to leave at least a 5mm gap between then stripper arm and the rim edge otherwise the head simply bends forward and scratches an edge. Some machines are very rigid and its not an issue but some move excessively. Are the stripper heads metal? How rigid are they when size is locked in? Thanks

    This may sound stupid, but why are the low profile rims upside down? Does it make it easier? Cause i've got no problems doing 25 series tires with nothing more than a bead depresser and a roller with the rim face up. Mind you, it is on a hunter machine, but not that high tech... I actually have to work a little bit lmao.

    Well of course this works on chrome and alloy wheels, lets see it on painted ones! XD also what about motorcycle wheels? This machine is 15~30k vs a 1k machine that could do the entire process and is proven to work on all sorts of wheels and finishes. I don't buy that the plastic wont leave any residual marks either I don't car how soft you say it is, you're using it to pry a tire off a wheel it's got some tensile strength.

  • @LTVoyager
    @LTVoyager7 жыл бұрын

    What is that spear shaped part that drags around the wheel face? Is it plastic also to avoid scratching the wheel?

  • @HunterEngCo

    @HunterEngCo

    6 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for the intelligent question. Yes, it is soft, bendable non-marring plastic. It activates the auto-indention function for bead breaking. The finger itself has no electronics, it is simply a plastic covered magnet that activates indention when it's lifted.

    Question. Can this work well in lawn tractor tires?

  • @HunterLearningChannel

    @HunterLearningChannel

    4 жыл бұрын

    Probably not, the smallest wheel diameter that machine can service is 10”. Smaller diameter assemblies like lawn tractor and ATV/UTV sizes are better serviced on one of Hunter’s tabletop machines like the TCX50. The TCX50 series clamps at the wheel edge, down to a 6” diameter wheel. Thank you for the question!

    you are very close to the tpms sensor when you demount the tire at 3:54 normally you must put the tpms sensor not after the demount arm but before, I'm specialist of these no contact tire machine and in 13 years i trained over 250 persons for these type of wheel and machine.A lot of people broke tpms sensor when it place after the demount arm like you're doing.And put a lot of tire soap even when you demount tire, a lot of people breake the tire beat when demount low profile run flat tire.
