THE HUNDRED MILER: Three ultra runners face the 'holy grail' of trail running

Спорт

DONATE & SUPPORT THE FILM at www.paypal.me/SupportBroaden
Three normal guys, brought together by a love for running, who take on the holy grail of trail running, Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc.
'The Hundred Miler' chronicles the incredible running journey of Pat, Jacko and Steve which takes them from Australia to France, Switzerland and Italy. A story which involves years of training and preparation, traverses 170 gruelling kilometres of technical terrain, and requires some "hard, hard yakka". What does it take to face the hundred miler?
Directed and produced by George Webster and co-produced by Bryony Simcox, this film has been more than three years in the making. The film started as an idea in Sydney, and saw us attend some incredible races in the Australian bush, before heading to France with the runners and support crew for UTMB 2019. The film has since been edited in the UK and completed in Spain, and has been an absolute pleasure to produce. It is with great honour that we are now able to release it, and we are utterly grateful for the support we've had along the way. Thank you!

Great film! About 10 years ago I was on vacation in Fiji, sitting next to an Australian fellah telling me about ultra races he organized in Australia. I remember telling him how I had recently run my first half marathon in Disney World and was quite proud of myself. I had no comprehension of what an ultra was, or what he was talking about. That was nearly 10 years ago. 5 months ago, I finished UTMB. Funny how life happens. Films like this helped me find my way to UTMB. Keep inspiring others, you are changing lives!

I was never much of a runner. I just did it to stay moderately fit. But in April 2022, I discovered trail running and was inspired by the stuff I saw on KZread. I got more serious from then on and in July of that year I did my first Ultra (a 50k). I'd never done any sort of race or event before, so completing that was a landmark moment for me. Did my second 50k a couple months after that in September 2022, and now three weeks from my third, with my fourth 8 weeks away. I then got a place for the CCC in September 2023. It's been an incredible journey

WOW! i still have tears in my eyes. a very captivating story! i laught, i cryed, and it inspired me to keep pushing my limits. i really wanna do finish UTMB and you guys showed me how hard it is and i have to really prepare for the beast. and i laugh every time you go asked "will you do it again" and instant answer NEVER :)))) IMHO the more you go for this type of hard adventure (gradually) it is less and less torture, pain. your video really made me take a deep breath and reconsider how soon i would apply for UTMB. seeing this video and many other Ultra videos made me realise how faaaaar away from our true potential we tend to live. if you compare to normal person, you guys and any ultra 100mile is SUPER-HUMAN - GOD like. once i heard the voice of spirit in my head saying "you have no ideea how capable you are, what you can actually do" i will never forget that vibe. so true. now whenever i train and hear the voice of "oh i cannot anymore," i replace it with the first one. many blessings to you! thanks for the video. i will watch again! i donate because i would like more videos like this.
