This album is totally changed my life. I was 14, played bass in a young local rock group. On a day the radio played the Love Action. It was something new, unique. I stored their name in my memory. A few months later the radio played Don't you want me... I was in shock. It was completely new sound, a new sonic vision. I left my group next day and I switched to keyboards. Finally i worked in the music industry for 20 years, as session musician, composer, arranger, producer and sound engineer on 120 albums, includes numerous platinums and golds. Its all thanks to this album.

The 80s were a phenomenal time. Dare, Vienna, Non Stop Erotic Cabaret, Speak and Spell, Visage, Specials, Replicas, Peter Gabriels 'Melt' and 'So', U2's 'War', Eliminator, Avalon, Pretenders, Tracey Chapman, Born in the USA, Thriller. And they're just the ones that spring to mind. Never has pop music gone in so many fantastically different directions simultaneously.

Great ..pop music…here we go. Does anyone here like the Human League? Still can’t out of my head, Rik doing his dance to Things That Dreams Are Made Of before the Pigs come in and smash up the record player 😂😂😂😂
Do or die is a brilliant track ,takes me back to the early eighties when i was young .Still a fantastic album after forty years
This album is still one of the most important in my taste in music. to this day.

Being a synth pop fan started with Visage, O.M.D. and Human League. I still love them ❤. And I love the sound of the Linn drum computer!!!!

2nd favourite album of 1981 behind Kraftwerk's Computerworld' album. Favourite tracks ' Sound of the Crowd'( in my top 20 singles of all time), ' Love Action' & 'Seconds'. Wanted to see The League in December '81 at Stafford Bingley Hall. But the snowy weather was that bad, I didn't get there.
Brilliant album
Still sounds fresh after 40+ years.Great music and production.

Happy Birthday dare, 40 today
I taped Seconds off the radio in 1981. First song I ever heard from Human League and still my favorite. I always assumed it was about Hinkley shooting John Lennon and was frankly a bit disappointed when I found out it was actually about Kennedy.
Jahrgang 67, das Album ewig nicht gehört und kenne immer noch alle Songs auswändig, was für ein Hammeralbum, immer noch!
Seen them a couple of times and going to see them again at Wembley arena, London, December 2021😁😁😁
Haha I just had all my grandkids dancing and laughing to “The sound of the crowd.” Giggling and jiggling. So damned cute. Thanks for the memories while we make new ones.

I’ve just listened to this for the first time since the early 80s and I have to say, the music is superlative! Even my Dad liked this album!
ONE OF MY FAV ALBUMS OF THE 80s.
A ground breaking record in so so many ways that stands the test of time. Owes as much to the production genius of the late Martin Rushant as the songs themselves
Um dos albuns mais importantes dos anos 80 e sem duvida fundamental para entender a new wave e definir tudo o que veio depois em termos de tecnopop
EVERY TRACK STANDS THE TEST OF TIME.
Sounds as good as the day I came home a played it the day it released fantastic production

On Sunday nights, our local FM station used to play a new album straight through, commercial free. I was lucky enough to capture this one on a cassette tape that I listened to many, many times over the years.
masterpiece of electronic sound. I remember of some Bowie's interview during a summer festival in Sheffield back in 70ies when he stated about Human League that he was watching the future of electronic music. He was right, as usual. Their best album.

In the 70's it would have been the original Human League with Phil Oakey, Martyn Ware and Ian-Craig Marsh. The later went there separate ways and firmed Heaven 17, whilst Phil retained the Human League name.

Absolute Masterpiece, one of 80s edonism manifesto
This album blew me away. Went and saw them live at The Palladium in New York City in 1982 with Cyndi Lauper's band Blue Angel opening.
A classic & timeless album with the late Martin Rushent at the helm.
My god this takes me back I had just left school the year before and it's still a brilliant album how the years have flown by I wish I had a time machine to take me back to the '80s.
The whole album is great, spectacular and totally unique. But "Darkness" is the best track for Me. This song didn't get old, it has got a perfect clubbing sound.
