The Human Tragedy - Khutbah by Nouman Ali Khan

This Khutbah was given at the Bayyinah Masjid in Euless on 7/1/2016.
Nouman Ali Khan shares insights from the last passages of Surat Al-Haj, where, he explains, Allah gives a striking example that encapsulates the tragedy of humanity. Addressing people regardless of their faith, Allah says that those who call on anything other than Him cannot even create a single fly. Allah takes the analogy a step further by referring to the pagan ritual of offering food to idols who have neither the power nor the will to stop a tiny fly from snatching bits of that food and desecrating their temples. The passage closes with a thought-provoking axiom which, in a few simple words, sums up the futility of our petty human pursuits: “Inherently weak are both the seeker and that which he seeks”. Here Allah reminds us that whatever God, ism or philosophy we turn to instead of him will never give us strength. Unless we make Him our priority, unless we seek His satisfaction, we will continue to be distracted from the very essence of our purpose in this world and instead get caught up in an endless cycle of desire and indifference that leaves us feeling empty and unfulfilled. The solution: to appreciate Allah the way He alone deserves to be appreciated, to establish the prayer and give Zakat in pure acts of spiritual and material change, to hold on to Allah, who will be our protector and constant helper as we fulfill the heavy responsibility of representing our faith in the way we carry ourselves through life.

It's always amazing that how he takes an ayah of the Qur'an and explains it in a way that you fall in love with Allah (swt) and His words. Ya Allah give us the strength to represent your deen and grant us your closeness.

sometimes ago, I take a biology course about basic genetics. almost all of the meetings were talking about this fruit fly, drosophila genetics. I don't really remember the details, but at that time I was wondering why they take the mere fruit fly as a genetics model. later I know that drosophila species has really simple structure so the scientist studies it in details in order to open the knowledge for the more complex species. today, I learned the lesson. Allah said it Himself, no matter how advanced our power is, never would we can create something like his. that's how weak human is.

It’s really amazing how everything in Quran helps you to be closer to Allah (swt) and how he comprehends the text in a way .. we people can relate to, understand and listen in an awe. I keep on writing his messages to a notebook so that I can pass it to the generations to come .. Insha Allah. Human needs this guidance today. World seemed to be so lost. It’s really sad!

I heard from 12mins 10 secs to 15 mins and 45 secs ,maybe 15 or 20 times. Its amazing. Whatever your desires put Allah above all them. Allah's pull far more powerful than the desires. How does NAK know what human beings go through in different situations that he mentions them in. Amazing. It must be from Allah that he understands so much of human behavior without even being in that situation. We learn by experience. He knows it already. It must be from Allah that Allah must have chosen him to guide us. SubhanAllah. Jazakallah khair.

As Salam Aliekom Mufti Ali Khan & the World Ummah including Humanity Respectfully the Book of Life & the Laws we Live by are always being revealed & evolving. Allah God the Creator Speaks to us every minute of the Day & Night maybe it is time we educate & encourage everyone to listen, consider, contemplate, consult, and share the Positive Guidance & messages with everyone so we can all succeed & thrive in good, caring & Positive, Healthy Ways Inshallah God Willing. To Listen and Consider the Positive & Good Message and Information within Each Religion, focusing on the Good, the Positive in the Advances made in many fields such as Science, Medicine, Mental Health most of all we need to start working at Living, Doing and Being Healthy, Active, Engaged in gaining Knowledge Understanding and Compassion. This is so we can let go of out dated information, guidance and myths in how to live and Be Well. In Islam there is a saying the what was once False may come to be True and what we were to is True may be False, I believe this is a saying of the Prophet Mohammed PBUH but I have forgotten the reference related to this quote. In Islam in particular it is said that Allah, God, the Creator guides whom he chooses to Islam however in my view what Leads Individuals & Families to a Religion, or to be Well Educated, Healthy and Balanced is a well rounded Education, were we receive Practical Advice and Training on how to Navigate our lives. This includes Excellent Self-Care and the Importance of a Daily Practice of Self-Care including during stressful times, Crisis, Grief, Loss as neglecting our Self-Care may cause us to spiral down into many chronic conditions that can be prevented by Excellent Self-Care. Excellent Education & Training in what Self-Care Involves such as having good Boundaries and how to Nurture and Create and Maintain Healthy Boundaries can save you Life and the Lives of Others. Part of Excellent Self-Care is having the Freedom to Participate in Open Dialogue or what Muslims Call Ijtihad. Search Results Ijtihad (Arabic اجتهاد) is a technical term of Islamic law that describes the process of making a legal decision by independent interpretation of the legal sources, the Qur'an and the Sunnah. The opposite of ijtihad is taqlid, Arabic for "imitation".Feb 24, 2006 Though this Definition describes Legal Decision making regarding Quran and Sunnah it is part of the moving force behind the Success and Thriving of the Middle East in the 4th Century when even then there were hundreds if not thousands of Women Scholars participating in Advances Science, Medicine, Astronomy, Mental Health Care, Algebra, Math, Chemistry etc when Europe was still in the Dark ages. Maybe there is some good advice and or ideas in this Process that we can use today not for a world controlled by Islam or any other Religion but by Humanity Striving in moving Forward to Healthier Happier Ways of Living Doing and Being. In every Religion, Culture, Nation, Community, Family and World there have been times when we want to shame name and blame a Person, a Race, Culture or Religion because of Bad Behavior, Bad Advice Truth is the Needed Change Requires Open Dialogue, Research on the issues, research on the Solution in Such a way the Negative issues are dealt with Dignity and Grace and Healthier Information is put forward to address the crisis or issues so instead of People Feeling Angry and Hurt for Decades they are Provided to Education, Train, Support, Follow Up and Access to Programs, Services and Groups to Assist in gaining the Knowledge Understanding and Compassion to as I said let go out outdated Information and Advice and gain the Skills to Lead within Themselves, their Families, Communities, Nations and Worlds. Many factors affect a Person, Community, Nation and World, Individuals and Families accepting new information, a big part of this is a lack of Excellent Self-Care, Fear and Self Hypnosis ingrained Obsessive Compulsive Behavior which requires Cognitive and other Therapies, Medical Attention and Mental Health Treatments. This following Hadeeth reminds me that each of us can be part of making a difference and that though no one may ever say thank you your Positive Efforts Can and Do make a Difference. Hadith no: 884 Report Mistake Permalink Narrated: Abu Huraira Allah's Apostle (SAW) said, "There is a sadaqa to be given for every joint of the human body; and for every day on which the sun rises there is a sadaqa (i.e. charitable gift to be given), the one who establishes justice among people is considered as a sadaqa." Each of us was created with a Noble Station as is all Creation. The Responsibility & Duty of Humanity is as Guardians, Messengers, Leaders even we can say we are the Messiah, the Prophets, the Manifestations of God, People of Spirit not that we should go around calling anyone Prophet, Messiah, Buddha, Krishna, Brhamma but Acknowledge for the Love of Allah, the Amazing Spirit, Wonderful Imaginations, Incredible Courage & Strength in living with challenges that are immensely difficult yet they endure. It was and is the intent off Allah God the Creator that we all Share the Responsibility & Accountability in Spiritual Leadership each of us having ownership in the unfolding Healthier Creative Positive & Truly Juste ways of Living Doing & Being. There are Gifts in each Religion that work & can be shared, incorporating these into Our Personal Spiritual Practices. As for Faith this is something acquired through investment in time & caring for ourselves & others. Practicing & educating the Importance of Self-Care is part of this for Mind Body & Soul Educating Everyone that enjoying Loving & Caring for our own bodies and sexual needs is part of this spiritual care. Abstinence in terms of waiting for the right one ie in not just in having sex with anyone is one thing and is acceptable. However Abstinence Sensory Deprivation & Isolation are a recipe for serious physical, medical & mental health issues leading to tragic events, suicides, rape, incest, murder and over the long term amputations, impotence, Dementia, Alzheimer, cancer, violence, depression, crisis, over eating disorders, muscle degeneration, inertia, apathy and many other long term serious conditions and catastrophes We need to stop the Naming Shaming & Blaming in enjoying pleasuring ourselves, relieving our own sexual needs so the incredibly strong sexual needs & urges are addressed by ourselves without interference though maybe some education so that we can have a calmer stronger frame of Mind Body & Soul Accepting this need as Healthy & Normal will Inshallah create a Spirit of Care where there are Abundantly less Sexual Violence, Rape, Incest, and assist in helping us have a better frame of Mind when we approach or are approached for Marriage, Relationships over the long term this means Healthier Families, Communities, Nations & Worlds. Total Abstinence, Trauma and Loss of a Spouse can trigger Mild to Severe Psychosis in Men & Women this condition causes the individual to potentially have poor judgement, inertia, hyper sexual conditions that can lead them into dangerous situations and encounters sexually and in general unable to defend themselves from predators or violence or abusive situations. The sensory deprivation and isolation may cause a person to have feeling for the same sex in many cultures and religions millions of people have committed suicide due the fear shame fear or embarrassment or shunning, excommunication or threats of murder. In the manifestation of Psychosis in combination with sensory deprivation and Isolation many people have either been murdered or have murdered due to many factors. Psychosis affects Youth, Children & Infants too. There are several Treatments for Psychosis however the Best is Practicing Excellent Self-Care for Mind Body & Soul and learning to enjoy pleasuring our own bodies for some this includes even when we marry as some individuals are born with High Libidos it is a natural phenomenon in utero when the fetus is exposed to stress, fear, loud noises, chemical influences. (See Dr. David Suzuki's Documentary on Pleasuring Self-Masturbation) Creating stress free environments and monitoring chemical influences can reduce or prevent an Infant being born with a High Libido. Some have found that Deprovera a birth control hormone treats the Psychosis however it does not address the hyper sexual condition ie High Libido.) Some Individuals in the experience of Psychosis may have a distinct look in their eyes that may be mistaken as an interest in sexual relations however what it is most likely an expression of their Great Suffering, Grieving some people may feel that the individual is in love with them, interested in them however what they are really saying and looking for is Love. Not just a one night stand, not used for their money or connections, but a Relationship with Respect, Equality, Caring someone to share Life with. Dignity in all aspects of the of their Lives, Relationship, Marriage, Career, Vision, Goals & Success. This Requires a Great Sorting Out into Groups Sorted Out for Programs, Services, Supports & Follow Up to Address the War at Home the Effects off unaddressed Trauma from Violence, Rape, Murder, War, Poverty, medical & Mental Health conditions. This Requires all Hands on Deck Hence I Call you & all Humanity to the Shareholders Table for the 1st Supper a Feast of Knowledge Understanding & Compassion for A Great Debriefing & Triaging to Recovery, Restoration & Skills Development Groups Sorted Out. Mashallah there is Great Hope! This Hope is found within all Humanity & Creation it self Sister Anne Marie Elderkin One woman plagued with suffering and yes I occasionally make mistakes though I do my best to be and do good. Happiness Now, and Forever [22:15] If anyone thinks that GOD cannot support him in this life and in the Hereafter, let him turn completely to (his Creator in) heaven, and sever (his dependence on anyone else). He will then see that this plan eliminates anything that bothers him. [22:16] We have thus revealed clear revelations herein, then GOD guides whomever He wills. [47:31] We will certainly put you to the test, in order to distinguish those among you who strive, and steadfastly persevere. We must expose your true qualities.

dear nouman ali khan, I want to ask you about some question that my mom keep asking me, hope you don't mind to explain it in the next episode. Here's the question: in surah Al-Hajj 47, Allah said that one day in dunya same as 1000days in hereafter, so my mom have a thought that there's no the function timing in dunya because the hereafter is eternal. I keep telling her that Allah really care about His creation that's why He wanted to us to be carefull spending our time. But she still insist that there's no the function of this about. thanks

Nouman Ali khan doesn't read the comments here. He's not even the one that posted this video. I would take a shot at answering your question, but to be honest, I don't understand it. Is your mom saying that the hereafter has no concept of time because it's eternal?

"Say always: la ilaha illallah." 1. سُبْحَانَاللّهِوَبِحَمْدِهِ- SubhanAllah wa biHamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him). Whoever says (the above) a hundred times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea.[Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:168, Sahih Muslim; #4:2071] 2. سُبْحَانَاللّهِوَبِحَمْدِهِ- SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him) Abu Dharr reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Shall I tell you the words that Allah loves the most?" I said: "Yes, tell me, O Messenger of Allah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The words dearest to Allah are: subhanAllah wa bihamdihi”. [ Muslim and at-Tirmidhi.] 3. سُبْحَانَاللّهِالْعَظِيمِوَبِحَمْدِهِ- SubhanAllahi 'l-`adheem wa biHamdihi (Glory be to Allah, The Supreme, and Praise Him) A palm tree is planted for the reciter [of the above] in Paradise.[at-Tirmidhi; 5:511, al-Hakim] 4. سُبْحَانَاللّهِوَبِحَمْدِهِ،سُبْحَانَاللّهِالْعَظِيمِ- SubhanAllahi wa biHamdihi, Subhan-Allahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme) Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by the Most Merciful One." [Sahih al-Bukhari; #7:67, Sahih Muslim, #4:2071] 5. سُبْحَانَاللّهِ- SubhanAllah (Glory be to Allah) Whoever recites [the above] one Hundred times, a thousand good deeds are recorded for him or a thousand bad deeds are wiped away.[Sahih Muslim; #4:2073.] 6. لاحَوْلَوَلاقُوَّةَاِلَّابِاللّهِ- La Hawla wa la Quwatta illa Billah (There is no Might or Power except with Allah) [the above is] a treasure from the treasures of Paradise.[Sahih al-Bukhari; al-Fath al-Bari #11:213, Sahih Muslim #4:2076] 7. سُبْحَانَاللّهِ،والْحَمْدُللّهِ،وَلااِلهَاِلَّااللّهُ،وَاللّهُاَكْبَرُ- SubhanAllah, walHamdulilah, wa La illaha ilAllahu, waAllahu Akbar (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest) The above are mentioned as the four most beloved words to Allah. It does not matter with which one of them is begun.[Sahih Muslim; #3:1685] Abu Sa`id (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Perform the enduring goods deeds (al-baaqiyaat al-SaliHaat) more frequently." They asked, "What are these enduring good deeds?" The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) replied: Takbir [Allahu Akbar], Tahlil [la ilaha illallah], Tasbih [Subhan'Allah], alhamdulillah, and la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. 8. سُبْحَانَاللّهِ،والْحَمْدُللّهِ،وَلااِلهَاِلَّااللّهُ،وَاللّهُاَكْبَرُ- SubhanAllah, walHamdulilah, wa La illaha ilAllahu, waAllahu Akbar (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest) Prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said:“For me to say (the above) is dearer to me and all that the sun rises upon (ie the whole world).” [Sahih Muslim; #4:2072] 8. سُبْحَانَاللّهِ،والْحَمْدُللّهِ،وَلااِلهَاِلَّااللّهُ،وَاللّهُاَكْبَرُ،وَلاحَوْلَوَلاقُوَّةَاِلَّابِاللّهِ- SubhanAllah, walHamdulilah, wa La illaha ilAllahu, waAllahu Akbar, wa la Hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, There is no might or any power Except with Allah) (The above) are the good deeds which endure[al-baqiyaatuS-SaliHaat] 9. سُبْحَانَاللّهِ،والْحَمْدُللّهِ،وَلااِلهَاِلَّااللّهُ،وَاللّهُاَكْبَرُ،وَلاحَوْلَوَلاقُوَّةَاِلَّابِاللّهِ- SubhanAllah, walHamdulilah, wa La illaha ilAllah, waAllahu Akbar, wa la Hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest, There is no might or any power Except with Allah) Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: "During the Night Journey I met Ibrahim (alayhis salam) who said to me: ‘O Muhammad, convey my greetings to your Community, and tell them that the Paradise is of pure land, its water is sweet, and its expanse is vast, spacious and even. And its seedlings are SubhanAllah, walhamdulilah, wa la ilaha ilAllah, waAllahu Akbar (the above).’” [at-Tirmidhi] 10. الْحَمْدُللّهِ- Alhamdulilah (All Praise is for Allah) - Verily the best supplication is (above). "How can we renew our faith?" they asked. The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) replied: "Say always: la ilaha illallah." I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I entreat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You.) The above du'a is known as the Sayyid al-Istighfar and is the most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah. Whoever says it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.[Sahih al-Bukhari 8, 75 #318] If someone implements ten verses of the Qur'an, He/She will not be considerate amongst the negligent on the Day of Judgment.[Abu Dawud, Ibn Hibban] If someone implements one hundred verses of the Qur'an, He/She will be considered among the obedient on the Day of Judgment.[Abu Dawud, Ibn Hibban] Here is the link. islam.ru/en/content/story/dhikr-and-tasbih-sunnah Please save this and share to as many people as you can. Everytime they recite just once, in shaa Allah you will also get the reward. Everytime you remember ALLAH (SubahanAllah wa tala), he will remember you.

Like Allah now he is crying or feeling sad and waiting you to worship him to be happy, it’s completely wrong !!! Allah says: (3:97) In it are clear signs [such as] the standing place of Abraham. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a way. But whoever disbelieves - then indeed, Allah is free from need of the worlds.

@@ZERORPG7 That's different at the same time. Allah does not need you at first and he certainly doesn't need your worshipness to be great, Allahu Akbar - He is already "The Greatest". But Allah loves you and He wants you to become a successful person and the way to be successful in this life is to put Allah first and worship Him only. Allah is happy when you do that because it's better for you, Allah is not gaining anything from it, only you are the one who is gaining everything, and same way Allah gets upset when you disobey or associate some other deities with Him cause it doesn't harm Allah in any way, it only harms you. So yes your Priority in this life must be to Please Allah and Making Allah Happy, I hope this helps you to clear your mind.
