I have this phone, and i had the problem as well. I went to an authorised Huawei servise provider and they exchange to a new device immediately. They said they are aware of the problem and they gave me a new one. The old was with the lg panel. The new is also with the lg panel. If the problem arise again i will let you know

LG are terrible, my G4 died after 9 months for no reason. Then the replacement died again for no reason. Had to pay my contract off and get a Samsung instead.

I had the funds but not the need. I could have pre ordered and got the Watch GT and wireless charger worth £260 included, but ended up buying a Samsung Galaxy S8 for less than £390. It does what I need. I would be very disappointed to have this fault after spending £900 for an aurora boreala effect!

In new Zealand; got my first one on November 2nd. It has screen issues so I sent it back on the 5th, I got a replacement on the 14th. Again same issue, sent it back on the 15th, it's now the 2nd of December and still no word as to where my new phone is.

They told me that they have fixed the issue and are no longer making them with glue gate, but some of the screwed ones are still in stock in many stores and that's why there's still issues around

Is this a problem on just the pro version or does it also effect the mate 20 x? Was thinking of getting the x but i might back out of that if it's true. I'm in the US so if I have a problem with them I'm pretty much screwed.

Can it be possible that this issue is batch related? I've had my Mate 20 Pro for a month now. I have established that my device is fitted with a LG screen, and I have not had any problems whatsoever with the display. I have not experienced the green flickers and flashes. Under normal use, my screen has never gone green around the edges. However, I did notice that there is a slight green tint when I use my KZread app (which I use in dark mode). The tint is extremely faint. I hope this won't become a widespread issue.

OEM’s need to stop partnering with LG, they’re nothing but trouble.

LG IPS display is very good. However, there are some issues with their OLED panels. But, because of highly demanding of Samsung panels, many companies have to buy LG OLED panels. At the same time, Chinese companies such as BOE is trying to become competitive. Rumors or solid evidence confirms that the panel on mate20 X is from BOE. And it seems good. So, I am not surprised to see BOE may catch up in short period of time.if so, it will help to reduce the price of OLED panels from Samsung and LG.

I wouldn't say their TVs are all that either. I've had mine for about a year and a half and it now has trouble connecting to wifi, very slow at navigating menu's, and apps crash.

There are two vendors go screen. Only LG is affected. You can exchange with Huawei if yours is affected.

I have the mate 20 and mate 20 pro and luckily have not had this problem yet, glad huawei is good about taking care of their customers though.

I have the mate 20 pro aswell, and whenever I pull the notification panel down, I have these weird black spots underneath the blank area. Don't know if it's a design feature or if it's a defective panel. I have tested it out on a white background but I can't see the spots anywhere. Anyone else?

How to enable the otg in huawei mate 20 pro? I inserted my otg in the port but it wont transfer file since it keeps on going back to reverse charging.

I've gone through 4 Mate 20 Pros with the LG displays and all had the green light issue. Finally got my 5th Mate 20 Pro with a BOE screen and it's perfect. LG are the problem and Huawei need to stick with BOE.

@@ivactn6267 currently the defective mate 20 pros displays has been confirmed made by LG. Maybe they checked with IMEI number and batch production number of phones. Various articles are there weeks before confirming it's LG displays

Great that this problem with the screen gets out into the open! I recieved, just as the phone was released, a mate 20 pro with green tint issues along the edges and returned it right away and didn't want an exchange phone since this clearly is a serious manufacturing flaw. I had the LG manufactured screen.

This is quite major affected issue affecting almost all the LG panels. I had two LG device, both of them had this problem. I have returned the phone, i am done with it.

Viet Vo apart from the price and the camera hardware, there isn’t much to say about the Mate 20 Pro. Mediocre UI, mediocre service, copied design etc. But I do believe the camera and it’s pricing is more than enough to cover up its several downsides.

@@thewonderofyou1 no, BOE dispaly just has common OLED issues, and a minority of OLED displays is possible to have the green egdes problem, which is just within reasonable probability. LG displays, however, is far beyond reasonble and severe, which is thus considered as quality issue

its the "Glue gate", i thought the issue was already famous for some time already, its supposed to be an issue with the "glue" used in the Mate 20 pro, it seems to affect the Mate 20 Pro only. Mate 20 and Mate 20X dun seem to report this issue

The Mate 20 X Uses different panels to the 20 Pro. And the Mate 20 uses an IPS display. The glue that is used, at least with the LG panels, is apparently causing some weird circuitry problems, thus the flickering and the green hue when the display is off.

@@MTLoveridge I guess it has something to do with the Mate 20 Pro's new in display fingerprint sensor maybe. I think a lot of sites indicated the Mate 20X has a "OLED FHD+ (2244 x 1080) display" so i dun think its IPS like the regular Mate 20.

I got this phone 2 days and I slowly find, there is no pattern lock, there is no voice to text ?? I am still working on it ...and tips !!!

Don't have the screen problem but I seem to run into something else. After installing a few applications when you are running a software update on installed apps through the Google Playstore the installation process hangs and does not go further. After performing a soft factory reset the error is still there. When the phone is operational it is very smooth.

Those problems are specific to Amoled screens, Samsung phones have this problems for many years from S6 Edge and Note Edge foward to the latest ones. Simptoms: - green/white flickering - black spots/dot spots - vertical/horizontal colored lines - burn-in - etc. The main problem is unstable organic architecture (it's not easy to produce oled's cells) sometimes other like bad COF bonding (flex cable to the panel). Picture quality is better on Amoled but for long term usage the LCD is way to go...

I got my S9+ for under 600€ because of Singles day deals :D And I only had one problem with it, it froze once, but it was a quick fix, just had to force it to boot back up by pressing volume down and power button for 10 seconds. So if anyone has that problem, there's the fix :p

Just got my Huawei mate 20 pro last week and have gone bonker with photos/videos with it as it seems really cool with the great camera features and speed, however I have noticed the phone got really heated up at one point during the day and suddenly some flickering green light appeared on the screen! It disappeared after a min or two but I'm still baffled what to do? I did run built in diagnostics and everything seems fine so far but worried if this is going to happen again!!! Thinking shall I take it back to vodafone or just contact Huawei to run further checks???

Unfortunately my mate 20 pro has those green-ish looks in the sides (they are kinda soft tho and are almost only visible with low brightness), and I don't really know what to do..

I keep the s8+ for just after a year and then started having so many problem. The phone overheated, usb charger stop working, accelerometer and gps stop working. Then just the other day i wanted to transfer photos with my old mirco sd and it stopped reading it. Too many problem. Now have a mate 20 x and it's amazing.

Just got my huawei Nova 3 and its not that smooth. So many bugs and lags with animation

I am using this phone. I am facing a new problem.In the time of watching youtube/Facebook videos, it automatically screen light off after 30/60sec(according to the selection of "sleep after 30/60sec"(though the video is running))..i tried a lot but couldn't solve this

this is the only reason i dont buy this phone....

My phone got brand new last week the phone was working but whne I was trying to change the volume just the volume image got frozed. Then other time the screen got freeze I had to restart the device.

The always on display of my Mate 20 Pro started flashing green light after 1 month of use. The flashing usually lasts for a number of hours per episode and then disappears to look normal again for the next few hours. So far, 2 episodes of this flashing green light has happened. It's annoying because the flashing stopped when I was on the way to send the phone for tech support. Switching off the always on display stops the problem. But what's the point of having an OLED display if you can't use the always on feature?

My second huawei mate 20 pro and 2times same problems.. Fck

But if it has the same Issue, I am gonna give up on huawei and I will go back to OnePlus, the software is just so mich better, and in my Opinion the battery life on the mate20pro wasn't groundbreakingly better than on my old OnePlus3t so yea....

I have the same problem with my phone, i sent it in and i have waited 2 weeks now. Waiting for parts says the company here in sweden. They haven´t given me a new one (yet)

I have bought the mate 20 Pro have enjoyed it but one thing that annoys me is every time I walked past a Wi-Fi area my phone shouts out you have a new message I walk into my local pub where they have free Wi-Fi and yet it just keeps saying you have a new message is it annoying here in the UK when there's so many Wi-Fi hotspots how do I turn this notification off

also the speaker is in the charger and when you charge it the volume gets softer ;-;

I've had my phone on month and there's been no problems whatsoever how long does it usually take for the green light to come
