The only downside to The Hu is that they make me feel like I need to go and invade something after I've heard them...

Lol, boy do I know that feeling! 💣💥
Next you should listen to their cover of Metallica's "Sad But True". It's awesome and I love the HU!
Throat singing sounds that way. That's what he does, he's a Mongolian throat singer. I have loved them since I listened to wolf Totem Awesome, a great song. Love the fact that they came up on Harleys instead of a horse. And I'm 68 so I have heard good & bad. They are great! Akita, 🇺🇸 lady
I can't tell you how many times I've listened to this song since I first heard it - in my opinion it's awesome! This song Sugaan Essena (Black Thunder) was especially written and performed by The HU for the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game. The language or lyrics used are specifically for Star Wars. I love the way it builds up and then the transition at the end with that fabulous riff - wow! The video is great, so interesting watching these talented musicians playing the fantastic Mongolian instruments, for example the Morin Khuur (horsehead fiddle) and Tovshuur (Mongolian guitar), the throat singing, it's just wonderful. Re influences, definitely Metallica and certainly could be Black Sabbath and Nightwish, metal, symphonic metal, so much going on in this song! Other great HU songs which I'm sure you will react to in due course are Yuve Yuve Yu, The Great Chinggis Khaan, and two Metallica covers - Sad But True and Through the Never. Thanks so much for your reaction, guys, very much appreciated, so glad you enjoyed it as much as I did when I first heard it!

Back when I first heard this song I thought they were just singing in their native language until I watch a behind-the-song video talking about how it was all made up in a language that would be from the Star Wars Universe. That made it even better.
Love your reaction and greetings from Mongolia
Thanks for your reaction. I'm glad you enjoyed the song as much as I do. I have this song on continuous loop while I am working from home. They are not singing in their own language in this 'Sugaan Essena' version. The Mongolian version is usually called 'Black Thunder'. This version's language was made up especially for the 'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order' game. The band worked with the game creators to create a language that suited their singing. It's called 'Huttese', and is based on the language used by Jabba, The Hutt, in the Star Wars movies. The instrument that is played like a violin or cello is a 'morin khuur' or 'horse-head fiddle'. It has two strings that are waxed to reduce friction with the bow, but unlike a violin, cello or guitar, the string is not pressed down onto the fretboard. The fingers are placed under the string or in some cases, the string is pinched to change the pitch of the note. Apparently, pressing the string against the fretboard makes a note that is out of tune, for some reason. Thanks again for reacting to this.
Thank you,i m from Mongolia
Next you should listen to The HU - The Great Chinggis Khaan
I ended up subscribing to their KZread channel and they have so many great songs. Good reaction guys
This is originally Star wars version of song named “black thunder”. This song is made out of their made up language for this song. Black thunder version is on mongolian language. And that was not a Violin its a horse fiddle.
You guys have to listen Through the never by The Hu ( Metallica’s cover), would blow you mind away ;)

Great reaction, from Mongolia. This is fusion of rock and our folk music. But this not our language, it sounds same.
