My dad works near there, can see the view perfectly of the clock, fantastic at night!

Is it just me, or do I fell like falling asleep when the quarter bells chime.

Often hear that just as I’m walking past the Robin Hood statue outside the castle.. which is unfortunate, because it means I’m late for work

Being THAT CLOSE to a bell that loud I'm sure tickles the skin of every person in that room.

Sounds like the deepest quarter chiming bell needs some oil. It squeaks when the hammer moves down to strike the bell.

The hour strike for sure. The actual chime here is in E flat major, where BB's is in F-major.

The clock mechanism is on top of the belfry/rotunda unlike Big Ben where it’s under the bells

Big Ben is the 13 and a half ton bell brought into london by 16 horses in the 18 hundreds. The bell was cast in 1834. The bell in this video is called Little John. It may look like big ben but the bell is a bit smaller and the hammer make a different sound to it when struck. 🔔

@@Blurain727 Ive seen the hour bell at Lincoln Cathedral , it is called Big Tom and is smaller than Little John . I would love to go up into the dome of the Council House , but I dont think they do tours anymore .

The four bells don’t go till quarter to but the hammer is not like the one Big Ben is

Try standing in the arcade where some shops and a cafe are underneath the dome and it sounds quite loud .

It’s because in the UK we use the same chimes for most of our clocks, they are called the westminster chimes
