"The Hot Rock" final scene and credits with jazz music (1972)

Комедия

According to IMDB, the jazz score written by Quincy Jones for this film was played by a bevy of well-known musicians, who are named in the final credits, plus many more who went uncredited (including Jones, himself). The front line included Gerry Mulligan, Clark Terry, Frank Rosolino, Jerome Richardson, with Grady Tate and Ray Brown in the rhythm section. Rhodes keyboard can be heard in this clip, performed by either Clare Fischer or Michael Melvoin, neither of whom are credited. The four-bar scat vocal heard just before the coda was "sung" by Clark Terry, doing some of his "Mumbles" routine.

This movie is a time capsule of NYC in the early 70’s. A helicopter ride past the unfinished Twin Towers is the best part.

Sometimes the good guys get to win. Reminds me of one day in June when I just did that. The bad guys lost big and walked out of the place with the diamond. Need another day in the sun

Thanks for your comment, aj. I haven't seen the whole movie. I just happened to turn to TCM toward the end of its showing. I liked the music--so I saved the end of the film There are some famous jazz musicians playing on the soundtrack. (See my description above.) I usually check TCM's schedule every month; so, I'll be looking for their next showing of "The Hot Rock". Thanks for the recommendation.

@@pianopappy The channel FX had it in their frequent broadcast line up for about a year. I watched almost every time it was on.
