These people think it's strange to take into account what the animal wants. I FIND THAT STRANGE. AND CRUEL. I'm glad someone with some higher intelligence and compassion and empathy has been placed into their lives! May they start to love and appreciate these majestic creatures and treat them with the respect the owners get! LOVE THE ANIMALS ALWAYS!!

Totally agree with you. First off, this type of gait isn't normal for a horse. Second, compassion and caring is always the way to go. Which this trainer proved 100%. The horse has a brain structure of all mammals, exactly like ours. Thus, horses experience all the same emotions. I grew up breaking and training thoroughbreds and quarter horses. One of my degrees is clinical psychology. Therefore, I can say authoritatively that applying horse psychology makes all the difference in working with their problems. When I was young we did not have the horse whisperers that we do today. Today, working successfully WITH horses is not brutal. I greatly appreciated the sensitivity of Jorge. Good job!

It disturbed me too see Enigma tossing his head around as if to say: “listen to this human! He understands what I am feeling!” Martin is clearly a very gifted “horse whisperer” God Bless Him and the extraordinary work he has been sent to do! 🙏 I’m willing to bet that Martin is an Aries/Horse astrological sign. Balk at me it’s okay but I am also that sign. While walking on an island off the coast of Georgia we came across wild horses. I was in the company an accomplished equestrian… funny thing being the lead mare came up to me and put her head up to my head! I was not nervous as a matter of fact I felt such an electric connection! Then the boss man (stud muffin) decided enough! And guided us back to the path to the boat! Surreal is not strong enough a word… slice of heaven is more like it! I certainly am NOT saying that I am gifted or such it’s just a wonderful memory I felt ok to share here. I will never forget that day.

What a beautiful horse. I think that when you bring a horse like this from a state of anger and aggression, such as that which Enigma had flowing through him, and bring them to a calm trusting place, the bond of trust can be much greater than in a situation of greater original compliance. There is just a higher level of dynamics in the horses personality and character and it takes a greater level of commitment and understanding to gain that bond of trust. But once that bond of trust is reached, all that dynamic character forms into an amazing horse that will deliver extraordinary results. The boldness in the aggression is turned into confidence and pride and having that in a horse with such a dynamic character, the experience with them can be absolutely amazing. In just 5 days after being basically uncontrollable, Enigma pulled in a third place ribbon in a competition that requires control and poise. But the aggression was turned into intensity that came out in the exact traits most desired in competition which was simply amazing. Awesome job by the trainer and a true blessing for the horses owner. Great story to watch.

I know, right?? They're amazed that time has to be taken to understand the animal and to adapt to its natural needs, and to consider that there was a natural reason-pain-for his behavior. Typical male, Spanish attitudes toward animals. Spaniards conquered the new world brutally and forced it to bend to their will and their customs and those attitudes still dominate. And before anyone accuses me of being culturally ignorant or prejudiced: I am a Spanish teacher with 34 years experience teaching the history of peninsular Spain and their conquest of Latin America as well their literature from 1335 to the present.

Good for you and I hope more and more trainers go with the concept of starting the horse and working with the horse instead of breaking the horse like they did in the old days. So many horses were damaged mentally because of that cruel mentality. And I hope enigma becomes a healthy strong and kind horse. Because that's the kind of horse he is and most animals react like he is because they are in pain and people need to realize this thank you or what you are doing

Wonderful video. So happy for Enigma. I believe his name has a lot to do with his behavior. Ive seen many of named people and animals that are a lot like their names. I could blow your mind on that one . I also believe that horse understand as all animals do . I’ve studied this and I’ve owned a lot of animals through the years and have tested this theory myself . I mean they really understand what your saying as in not just commands. Don’t assume because they don’t talk back that they don’t understand you . The Horses are so beautiful . Thank you .

"La bravura se hereda", pero los caballos son muy inteligentes y fieles y claro necesitan cariño, y libertad. Reconocen la ternura de un amo. El domador aplicó, "inteligencia emocional" con este brioso corcel. Lo que faltaba a los dueños. "Enigma," hace honor a su nombre. Aunque hasta el domador reconoció que parecía "endemoniado", yo le habría hecho bendecir antes que nada.

Some of the most beautiful horses in the world down there, absolutely stunning. I've always loved some of the old world Spanish type horses, Andalusian, Paso, etc. He's a horse that doesn't like the environment, job, he's asked to do. It happens, & its usually the one we want the most to do it w/, LOL. If they also give him a "trade off", where he gets to live "his" life some, half, the time, he'll submit to "their" life. Or, he may never b suited to the regimented, strict, training/performing, life, & might b perfectly suited to b a cattle worker, ranch type horse, something less demanding of perfection, more pasture/free running time. He is gorgeous, I hope they find the right life for him, even if its not their goal for him.

It's great that Martin recognized the back pain but nothing was done to determine the cause or treat it, except a temporary shot. Horse chiropractors can help such horses. The owners do not care about this horse, only whether he can perform so that they can be proud. I was shocked that he'd been in a competition FOUR years before, so he had been kept isolated in that small stall all that time. The the owners think he should be cured of his physical pain, lack of exercise, and psychological distress in a week.

@@donnacsuti4980 - Donna? At least the present owners paid good money to have this gifted trainer work with their horse. Yes? All humans are on learning curves and although their ‘competition deadline’ irked me to no end as well, I think that this “gentle approach” training has moved the owners horse awareness to a higher level. A move to a new owner would likely traumatized Enigma all of again. Enigma is best where he is - surrounded by people who watched him grow with the patience kindness that Martin demonstrated during his brief one week duration. I LOVED the manner and technique in which Martin trained Enigma. I wonder if his training work is shown in other KZread videos? Anyone know the last name of this trainer? He’s very talented.

Enigma is just beautiful. Stunning. I do not know much about horse’s but if I were in a tiny stall with two small windows…. That would be like I would guess isolation for a prisoner. Those legs look like they are born to run free and fast. No friends to be with. No sun light. Pain that is not managed because he is going out of his mind on that small space. I do not want to criticize his owners. It appears that they just don’t know? He is a handsome beautiful horse and it looks like he surely needs space to run. To graze with a herd. Run on green grass every day. A bigger stall. One that he is in only for a short period of time after a long day outside in the sun and wind. The Horse Tamer … fantastic. What a great story..true story. Lots of lessons to learn. Enigma is not just a ribbon or a thing. How can you undo all that has happened in such a short time? It seems to me that he has so much of life in him and potential…. He needs touch, love, his friends, a fresh pasture. An apple tree or carrot stick. I can’t see that if you lock him up then except him to “perform” what would be his joy in doing so? Perhaps if he felt better and had space and touch from the humans and the other horses. A herd and time to heal. Not days but as long as he needs. I’m sure he feels the pressure which makes his physical pain worse. He looks like a treasure on earth. Truly stunning. I hope he is okay💕 I cannot say enough good about the tamer. Wow! He knows and Enigma knows… that’s a great friendship. Human touch that is no scolding him if you will. Recognizing that he is in pain and he needs freedom. 💕 He can’t have that “spirit” if he does not know freedom and love. I don’t mean in a sassy way…just that it takes time. When he’s ready I’m sure you will not have far to dig for that spirit…he has it. It just needs that touch💕
