I really loved listening to the whole album and can't wait to hear more from it. So here's my take on this scene!

I always wondered if the real reason they wanted him dead was because he’d grow up to be able to defy/fight the Gods.

I thought that too since they're really desperate for a dead baby. Enough to be petty to Odysseus if he doesn't do anything

What could a mortal baby do to a god? And even if that was a case wouldn't Zeus try to prevent the baby from been born. I mean he did that twice

@@user-tp9uw1pr6m did you even listen to the song or story? The whole point is that when the baby *grows up* they will pose a threat to Odysseus/his country/the world and the Gods are using that knowledge to persuade Odysseus to kill the baby. I’m speculating that the Gods (who often have ulterior motives in the Greek mythology) also wanted the baby dead because it could pose a threat to them. Fate is a big theme/part of Greek mythology- there are literally three ‘dieties’/mythical beings who represent fate. Perhaps when it comes to a God’s fate, they cannot directly change it (ie killing the baby themselves) but they can ‘indirectly’ cause it (ie persuading Odysseus to kill the baby instead). It would also be reasonable to assume that they cannot know (or at least not always know) someone’s fate until they’re born and so the Gods couldn’t prevent the birth.

I'm loving how people are showing talemachaus as a baby cause it kind of ass the extra letter of sadness cause by that point he would be like 11 and over 20 when Odysseus gets back, it kind of makes it seem like he is still trying to get back thinking he can just pick up where he left off as if it wasn't over 2 decades

Odysseus: so if I kill this baby then I can sail home without ever having to face any other problems Zeus: I mean, there’s a chance you’ll have to face various gods and monsters on the way back, cheat on your wife twice creating some long lasting marital problems, killing all of the soldiers you fought and protected, and even when you do return after 10 years of that you’ll still have to face the suitors that have been seducing your wife, abusing your son, and running your kingdom to the ground. But other than that killing this baby will guarantee the best possible outcome

I loved this so much! Also, others may have different opinions, but I felt like the way you drew Zeus in 0:48 , he seemed more empathetic to how Odysseus felt, kind of like, "I'm sorry, I know this sucks, but you have to do it," rather than being fully detached. It was cool touch that I haven't seen in any other renditions!

It kinda makes sense. Zeus was probably reminded of his own father

WOW I’ve always pictured Zeus as this floating bust with clouds for a beard, and the scene ending with Odysseus on the same balcony he throws Asyntax from. Fantastic depiction!

if i was Odysseus id have taken the boy home even knowing what would happen because I honestly would feel like its what i deserve for the horrors and evil id inflicted in the Trojan War id never tell my family either id raise the boy as my own give him the best training in both war and governing a kingdom as well as create a few mercenary groups for him later and when the day came and he comes to burn my house and throne id be there waiting for him not with sword or bow but open arms and a sad smile as i said "i knew this day would come since i brought you home with me my son even if your not my blood i raised you as my own and loved you as my own knowing you would kill me one day and burn my house and throne because i knew i deserved it for my part in your own houses fall for the atrocities i schemed up and the horse i built that brought low Troy and your family and even now i still love you and have made several things for you to make your vengeance easier if i could make one request of you...please spare my son he had no part in what i did and a fathers sins should never effect their children but id understand if you ignore me and do what you feel is right i made my peace with it the day i brought you home the Gods warned me what would happen and i made my choice but still i have to try and convince you to at least spare him because its my duty as his father same as it was my duty to raise you in place of Prince Hector as your father now come kill me and avenge your home kill the creator of the Trojan Horse and the architect of your kingdoms fall but know then even as you run me through that i still love you as my son and i know you will do great things just as your father did before you goodbye my son" the scene would end with a burning palace and me dead on my broken throne a sword wound across my chest but a peaceful if sad smile on my face knowing i did at least one thing right

HOLY FVCK. DUDE. AASDFGHJKZSEDRFGYHUJKJJ-- This is super cool!!! I really like how you had Zeus makes his entrances/exits by materializing/dissipating into clouds, it works really well and I can't believe I haven't seen anyone else do that. On top of that, having Odysseus cradle the infant in his arms like that, and then the little squeeze as he starts arguing- WOW. It really added an extra gut punch to the whole situation. You also have a really nice sense of composition, every frame has lots of movement and lots of differing shades and values despite the monochrome color scheme!! Nice work!! tldr; this is phenomenal and you got big kudos energy 👍👍👍
