what really bothers me is how it’s going on around the world but here i am living a completely different life, helpless to them. when driving i always look at every house and think..what could be going on in there?what if i just passed a horrible situation. when i hear screams outside, i always think, what if that wasn’t a fun scream? i’m sitting at home while someone else is probably experiencing the worst pain in their life, and i’d never know. really teaches you to be greatful, things could always be worse.

Damn I hope you're mentally healing too mate, just because others have come off worse it doesn't negate the suffering you went through in any way. My shoulder regularly dislocates because of epileptic seizures and I often end up putting that back in place myself too (unless it's too far out) because it's easier than going to hospital so I know what a dislocation feels like, I've also broken my arm, collar bone and shattered my left leg as well as both heels due to accidents and seizures, that alone is bad enough without the added stress of someone else doing it to me as well as the mental anguish I think you probably went through. I really hope you're in a better place now 👍

They torture infants. Also even ASPD people speculate that the REAL CURRENT number of people that have it is likely around 30-40%, not 10-20%. At least that's how they feel taking into consideration the kinds of people they have interacted with. So there are more psychopaths and sociopaths, not to mention narcissists, bipolar, borderline, histrionics and all that vile jazz around then what the prison population stats tell us.

Torture is rather subjective. When we hear 'torture,' physical harm and physical pain is immediately implied. However there's deeper connotation that needs to be further addressed. Torture is far deeper than we think. It has psychological and mental effects. More like after-effects. A person may seem normal, you cannot tell immediately they've gone through psychological abuse and/or torture. You kinda need proper psychiatric evaluation to be able to decipher just how much pain and negative experience an individual went through.

I think this is why denial and confusion is so prominent when people have a surface-level understanding of atrocities. They think “Well, I personally would never do that. And I don’t know anyone who would ever do that. So clearly people don’t act like that and these are exaggerations.” Cruelty causes confusion for the outsider. For the perpetrator, when they’re under the belief that what they’re doing is acceptable, it does something to them internally.

I spent 8 years in core crunchy and the officers there used to kick my door they broke my fingers in a tray slot and then just absolutely toyed with my food and just psychological terror that they brought about. And I still suffer from this type of action today from that.

Torture largely can happen to those who are vulnerable and have nobody to help them, and in a lot of cases that’s people fleeing governments who don’t protect them/actively harm them. I’d assume a lot of the victims of torture this person works with have been trafficked(as trafficking victims are vulnerable and have no one looking out for them) and the fact of the matter is a lot of trafficking victims are immigrants. It’s also important to knows that even though governments are largely untrustworthy, finding sanctuary in a place where the government doesn’t actively hurt you for you political beliefs, ideologies, gender, or other membership in a particular group is first priority for many people.
