Give one shot at ayurveda, we Indians had longer fasts shorter fasts , tapasya which is 90 day fast and we had mental health we had women specific foods to be consumed in a short omad fast , we had yoga and what not , give that a shot once , now that science has come around 40% of our 5000 year old stuff , the rest 60% deserves a non racist one time read atleast, i mean we connected breathing and mental health and physical health together years ago , i wasn't shocked when I heard of fasting , cause my mom does it one day every week , and various types w various food , on santan saptami it's mendatory to only eat curd and pua , on navratri we eat sabudana and peanuts , and we have once or twice a year dry fast 36 hours. Sunrise to sunrise , and we sync it w lunar cycle , maybe you should too

Ayurveda saved my life back in 2000!! I was 20 years old, overwhelmed with inflammation, auto immune issues, imbalances, and taking prescription meds for stomach, asthma, etc... My chiropractor happened to be a massage therapy teacher, herbalist, as well as Ayurveda, fasting, and meditation. Turned me around within months - off all my meds, healed my gut, saved my young body from a lifetime of misery. Forever grateful ❤😊

I’m three solid weeks into these systems, after reading your book, it’s been life-changing. I’m a life-long health-minded person, 43, felt all the changes these past few years, understood my high stress go-go-go lifestyle was no longer sustainable, have made tremendous changes this past year, then, a couple months ago it was confirmed I have two uterine fibroids. Your work is turning on all these new light switches. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! I have faith this system will also shrink and ride fibroids, along with all the other balancing benefits I’ve already experienced.

Hi Dr. Mindy! I’ve listened to your YT channel off and on since 2020, and thought it was interesting information, but being a server with a VERY active job, I thought there was no way I could fast like you recommended, because I need fuel to perform at my best. Then I listened to your interview with Dr. Rangan Chatterjee, and it changed my entire mindset! I’ve now listened to it 3 times, shared it with others, bought your book, successfully completed a 39 and 56 hour fast and felt INCREDIBLE, am being super gentle with my body this week before my cycle begins and have no PMS symptoms like I normally do (my breasts don’t hurt, no cramps, no moodiness AT ALL), and in fact, I believe my cycle is reverting back to 28 days rather than 23/24. My ketones are up, despite having sweet potatoes back in my diet this week, I’m losing weight for the first time in years, and feeling better than ever. I’m a 43 year old woman, with an IUD in (for nearly 10 years), and had lost 80lbs prior to COVID, then gained 40 back, which has been hard to lose this time around, until now. Thank you for changing my mindset, perspective on fasting, and my life! Fasting with our cycle is truly a concept that is phenomenal and just makes sense. Thank you for all you do, I’m so looking forward to this new phase of my healing journey. ❤

Wow, congratulations, that is wonderful to hear!! 👏🏽 I too am a 43 yr old woman who started listening to her about that time but stopped because I saw her trying out carnivore and interviewing people who are strong players in that field, which I disagreed with, so I left for a while. I recently came back and think that interview with Dr. Chatterjee was the best Dr. Mindy interview I've seen yet. I'm reading Fast Like A Girl now and after just one month of taking it easy that week before my period, I too experienced a much milder period and had a 26 day cycle instead of 23/24 like I'd been having lately. I have hope now and love to hear these success stories, thank you for sharing! 🌺

I love Dr Chatterjee and I'm so grateful he brought me to you. That podcast with him was the missing part of my fasting attempts and I was clearly trying in the wrong part of my cycle. I am passionate about sharing information with others ans I have shared that video so many times already. Your book arrived this week and I'm almost finished as I have read in every break. First 48hour fast done in the right part of my cycle and it was so much easier. I've done 36hrs in the past but struggled and now I know why. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I plan to start my own videos of my journey with your tools ❤

It was the interview with Dr. Chattergee where I discovered you. I am currently reading your book Fast Like a Girl. I follow a whole food plant based diet which has really improved my health and am hoping to utilize fasting with my current lifestyle to manage menopause. I've been a cold person all my life and am finding the hot flashes unbearable. I've woken up soaked to the point I needed to change, gotten up in a 60 degree night and taken a chill to the point that my teeth were chattering. Hoping fasting helps. I've tried different herbal supplements, soy beans. I'm still struggling.

Mindy, your book and this interview with Rangan Chatterjee have been pivotal in my Master's Capstone project. Not only is allopathic medicine very limited, much of medical and nursing autonomy has been removed by billable minutes. Medicine is not industrialized piecework. No longer a nurse, I was a PHN for thirty years until it died. My Masters is in Mind Body Medicine and Integrative Health with certification as a wellness coach. When I closed a recent academic paper I echoed your premise: the health of the world and nation are dependent upon women's wellness in each cycle of life. I am 64.

Dr. Mindy, I have been watching your videos and read FLAG! It has been so eye opening and an absolute blessing to me. I’m 47 and have been struggling with perimenopause since 43. I’m a nerd when it comes to all the info and science..I can’t get enough! When I found your videos it was an answer to prayer! I just watched this video and got The menopause Reset on Audible. I’m listening to chapter 1 right now and I’m in tears listening to you describe when things started to change for you. It is if I am listening to my story being told. We as women always wonder if it is just “me” and are afraid to ask for help. I can’t wait to read the rest of the book! But for now I can’t thank you enough for all you do and the information you strive to bring us and help us navigate this journey of being a women! I pray the Lord will continue to bless you and your family! ❤❤

Dr. Mindy, hi! 1st time commenter here. I want to thank you so much for so freely and excitingly sharing your knowledge and teaching us how to fish! 💗 I came across your videos a few weeks ago. And thanks to you and Dr. Eric Berg’s videos - I’ve incorporated fasting and keto for the past 3 weeks - 18:6 and a 24 hour fast from Friday to Sabbath - I haven’t lost any weight yet (as of week 2) - but a LOT of symptoms i had did greatly diminish or have disappeared completely - like knee pain that I’ve had for over a year - i feel like I have brand new knees! And am finally able to do workouts that I couldn’t do for months, pain free, like lunges! 😁 (this is a miracle in itself!) I ordered your book from Amazon last week and am waiting for it’s delivery. But do you have any content to point me to that addresses prolactin levels? I just turned 35 a few weeks ago and my husband and I have been ttc for almost 3 years. Due to elevated prolactin levels, my cycle has been absent for 1 year - which threw a wrench in our ttc plans. The RE i saw wanted to prescribe me Cabergoline (for the prolactin levels) and levothyroxine to help lower my thyroid levels which was she said was normal for an adult female but needed to be a little lower for fertility. But I haven’t taken any pharmaceutical meds - not even a pain killer in over 8 years and would like to keep it that way! I used to have very regular 28 day cycles for years - with no sense of direction on how to eat or live in accordance with my cycle. So I was eating whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. And this disruption only began in 2019. With this approach though, fasting & keto, it’s the first time that I have real hope on how to heal my body and bring it back into balance. I heard you when you said in one of your past videos that “if you don’t have a cycle, fast like you have one, and your cycle will come back!” So I’m excited to learn and incorporate the “fasting with your cycle” concept in great hopes that it will help bring my cycle back, regulate it, help me ovulate, and ultimately allow me to conceive naturally. I have much faith in this approach, it makes total sense & these past 3 weeks of my experience with keto & IF has convinced me even more! So I’m very encouraged from what you teach and from all the comments I’ve seen from countless women testifying to how this approach have helped them finally get their cycle back and become a mom! I hope i can come back to this comment a few months from now and tell you how your approach worked for me! 💗 thank you again, Dr. Mindy, from the bottom of my heart!

I wish there was a hormone monitor like there are cgm monitors. I have pcos and though my cycle is regular, symptoms like facial hair are out of hand. I want to do eating for fasting around my cycle, but I figure I have more testosterone bossing everybody around than typical. You mentioned zinc and I am deficient in it and supplementing every meal. Every time I test with Aqueous zinc...nothing. But my point is, I don't know my hormones very well that I can say, "Ah this is estrogen..." and I need to work on that. But even if I get to know them well, what if I'm not ever "feeling" progesterone...etc, because of the pcos or environmental toxins, stess...? Dutch test people need to make a continuous hormone monitor!

I’m working on getting rid of toxic estrogens and one of the tools I’m incorporating is psyllium husks in water at bedtime. I’ve been searching for more information on when it’s best during my cycle to take them as I’ve also learned from you that it’s good to take a break from supplementation, so I don’t want to take them every day. Thank you for all your info I need this so much! I'm 49 and play at a pretty high level of beach volleyball 2 on 2 somewhere between 3-4 days a week. I played semi professional in my 20's till late 30's. I've tried to do keto but I don't have as much energy for the majority of the quick sprint type of activity vb makes you do. I have tried to have a little carbs the night before and some before I play and have fruit and lunch meat snacks between games and I still start to black out in game 5. Usually I can easily play 7-8 games in a 3 hr period when I eat carbs. Should I just do high carb days when I play? Also in terms of skin care you probably already know about Alitura from Dave Asprey but wanted to give them a shout out for being amazing products without the toxins.

Dr. Mindy did a great interview with professional MMA fighter Miesha Tate, I'm not sure if you saw/heard that one (I think I heard it on the podcast through Spotify). In it she goes into some detail for how she might fast around her cycle and her training for her sport, maybe it can help you to get some ideas.

I love all those tools and tweaking but. What do you do when you are just recovering from an eating disorder and fasting=not eating is just not an option. This makes me so sad because I am 46 an VERY perimenopausal. :(

I have been fadting according to the schedule. And lots of inside physical things changed which is amazing. However i need to loose some weight, not because i am overweight but because i have to be at a certain weight not to use my meds. I done it for over 6 months and 3 months in accordance with your system and the weight came off. Not even 1lb. What am i doing wrong. Low carb. No sugar, protein in and nothing.

I just started fasting and following your book and advice a few months ago. I just turned 55. When I started fasting I had not had a cycle in 4-5 months. I did the 30 day reset, got a cycle twice. Now I’m at day 28 of the second reset and no cycle has started. Do I go to day 1 again at the end of 30 days? Or can I fast more varied, like the you mentioned for women over 40? For example, could I Fast for 4 days, then do a 24 hour fast then a day of feasting ? Clearly my cycle is wrapping up so I’m not sure how to fast and eat right now. Do I just keep doing the 30 day reset? I feel like my body will get used to that same pattern.

Thank you! Im struggling with a med condition nd I found my gynae (I'm a new patient for her so this is new to me), and refuse to take my lifestyle (high prolonged stress) into account. She just dismissed my concerns and the info that I was providing. I kept asking her for a hormonal test coz i feel I'm reaching insulin resistance but she refused. Irregular prolonged Bleeding? Get on birth control indefinitely she says. Im appalled.

I have been binging a lot of your Contant over the last few weeks. I purchased your book Fast Like A Girl. I think it’s wonderful and amazing what you are doing for women’s health. One thing that I am curious about, what is the best way for Peri menopausal women who have had a hysterectomy to track their hormonal cycles? I had a hysterectomy (I still have my ovaries) at the beginning of November last year. My cycle was still very regular up until the time of the surgery.

Hi Mindy - Thankyou so much for your videos, I’ve been watching for months but I have a burning question that I can’t find an answer to on your platform and other answers don’t seem to have the nuance - you have said that we should stop fasting during the week before our cycle… that we are supposed to be eating natures carbs during that time. I’ve been measuring my blood glucose and I notice that the week before my period my fasting glucose is up in the 6-7 range (from 5-6 other times of month). If I eat carbs - even natures carbs - even in very small amounts it makes it worse. Should I not be concerned about this issue or am I missing something?
