The Hooch Dual Sport Ride on a KLX 300 - Part 1
The Hooch Dual Sport ride. A popular dual sport charity event sponsored by GARTRA (Georgia Recreational Trail Riders Association). This event sells out early every year and was a blast. Trails include water crossings, mud, and single track. Fun trails, great friends and fun times.

Yes, it's motivating to see people of all ages riding these events. I've seen riders close to 80 years old at these events. As the saying goes, “Men do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing.” ― Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr.
Another great vid, Mike! It was great riding with you, John {aka "2Flat"}, Bruce and Nick!

Thanks Steve! I’ll be looking for that #45 at the next event trying to keep up with you, lol. Cheers!
Great views. Nice camera, sharp video. I was there. Saw myself in the riders meeting scenes. It was a great ride this year.

Thanks! Still getting use to my GoPro 10 vs the Hero 4 version I was using before. Shooting in 4K with a good motion stabilizer makes a difference. It was a good event this year. See you at the next one, cheers!
Looking to do the Hooch in June with a buddy. This will be our first dual sport rally. You have a basic gear list that’s needed/suggested (riding protective gear/ tools/equipment)? Thanks.

The Hooch is a perfect first dual sport event. You will get to use a roll chart and meet many great people. It's not too tricky as well. Outside of the norm, here's a list of recommended gear: 1. roll chart holder - Moose Racing has a good one. 2. Protective body armored vest or jacket but note it will be hot. I use an Alpinestars vented body armor for the upper body. 3. Motorcross or ADV boots. Waterproof boots are a plus since you will go through puddles, mud, and small water crossings. 4. Knee protection for potential falls and off-road motorcycle pants. 5. Spare tube in case of a flat although there are plenty of riders to help you out if it happens. 6. Basic tool kit for trail repairs. 7. Change of clothes as it's a 2-day event and rain is a possibility. 8. Decide if you plan to camp at Two Wheels of Suches or not There are limited small cabins and rooms on site. There is also food on-site and a bathhouse. Keep a lookout for me, I'll get you on video as I like to interview new event riders. Not sure if I'll bring my KTM 790 or KLX 300 but looking forward to the event. Cheers!

Yeah, we went old school with the route sheet but I used my gps to help measure mileage and show the path. Thanks for watching, cheers.
