Probably the biggest difficulty dealing with customers is that they have absolutely no idea what the job actually entails if done correctly. I have blocked a lot of customers on my phone.

Brother good day, I do the same thing I've been doing this along time I do my best to wein out the good customers from the bad ones. We sometimes get the head aches and they will try you. As long as your good, honest and back up your work. The good ones will come and you'll always have work. Keep up the great work brother.

Yep your totally 100% right!!

My tenants' favourite complaint regarding lights is those MR16 bulbs that have a 12v transformer. Tenants replace halogen bulbs with LED ones. But the LED ones use so little current, the 20 year old electronic transformers won't work. I then have to go and replace the transformer with one intended for LED bulbs.

Home Warranty is basically working for an insurance company, like any insurance, they are a total pain to deal with and get your services paid for. They want you to do all the paperwork and jump through hoops and plow through a pile of paperwork and claims to break even if you're lucky.

Yea it's definitely a pain in the butt!!

Sometimes….like my wife, Tyrone…they get under arm hair that falls off while showering minimal times a week. In my recent situation, my wife depleted 1,000,000 hairs from her underarms into a single drain as I counted them all. Strand by stand for days. She has now determined to shower more AND trim.

That's just it, you have to ask for pictures not only for proof but so you know what your getting into. That's your way of Surveying the job so you can be as prepared as possible to complete the job to the best of your ability, giving the best customer experience.. whoohoo 🎉👍 another great video.

Yep u understand, some people give me a hard time but yep u get it!!

So hear on the left coast, CA, warranty plans run $850.00 to $1000.00 a year, + $125.00 per repair call. I tell clients just cancel that policy, when you need a repair call a pro. You might pay more, but it will be done, usually one trip and done right. I got a lot of clients from bad warranty companies. I could write a book on all the home warranty nightmares I hear.

You are learning. I weed people out every day. Some people think everyone is out to rip them off. These same people are their own worst enemy because they are also cheap. They always go with the cheapest people and options. They never want to do it the right way. As soon as they start asking for discounts or complain about price I know these aren't people I want to work for. If I ask them to call the guard gate ahead of time so my guys can get in easier and they give me a hard time, I tell them to call someone else. I already know they aren't someone I want to do work for. My prices are on the high side so that also weeds people out. I don't work for cheap or poor people. It's not good for business. Our goal is to do things the proper way with the best parts and equipment available. There is a premium for that. I also warranty our work. Some people do not appreciate or respect that. They end up with what they deserve.

U got that right!!

It might not be a bad bulb it could just be the little bent connector the bulb seats on. Sometimes you can just bend it out a little bit to make a better connection.

When they say home warranty, I hang up !!!!! REFUSE to work for a single one of those crooks. Nothing but pissed off homeowners 100% of the time in my experience. 4 jobs, threatened to file mechanic liens to finally get paid by Choice Home Warranty. 4 jobs and I was out. Done for good with any and all home warranty companies.

I have been watching your videos for a while. I am impressed by all the things that you can do. I don't know the name of your company but I think that using the term "Handyman" is hurting you. The term makes most people think of a guy in a broken down truck with a pair of pliers and some visegrips in his hip pocket. You are obviously more qualified than that. I think that referring to yourself as a handyman is holding you back from what you could be. You have impressive tools and seem to have a lot of skills. When I watch you, I see myself 25 years ago, I used to use the words maintenance service in my company name. We did lots of apartment maintenance and foreclosure work for HUD and for banks. Good luck to you. I wish you well.

Yea I know what your saying being a handyman is definitely a uphill battle I created it like 5 years ago and I've been running with it. I hide behind a handyman name and out shine the rest! Or I at least try but u definitely have a good point!!! And believe me I definitely feel the same! I appreciate the nice comment!!

At one time I had 3 daughters and wife living together hair was always the culprit for clog drains I always used one of those grabber claw springs worked perfectly. Question, what do you tell the cop that pulls you over for using the cellphone “can I record you for educational purposes”😂😂 great video, love your sense of humor 👍

Frequently, I ended up with companies that seemed to prioritize low bids, operated on high volume, and dispatched inexperienced individuals for repairs. A notable example is when we had a shut-off valve replaced on two occasions, and both times, the water line installed by the contractor ended up leaking. In the second instance, even the replacement valve exhibited leaks. I can see the merit in using a home warranty company for larger items like HVAC systems. However, for most things, it's often more beneficial to learn to handle them yourself or establish a good relationship with a service provider that offers fair pricing, even if it's not the lowest.

This company is actually paying my rates plus some, the last drain cleaning I just did they had to do a courtesy pricing so adding more but I can't complain. The the time they mess up and pay me is the part to complain about its ridiculous!

I could make a nice wig out of that lump. Great video, the struggle is real, I know😀

I usually call when I'm available, I never schedule online. Lol I don't like to commit lol well for home warranties and property manager jobs

great vid bud!. Yes if a customer tells me how long a job is supposed to take, I always give them the " I don't want to do it estimate". That's crazy about the home warranty deductible. The one I work for collects the deductible and they pay me at the beginning of the month. Once again dawg, I don't know how you get up so early lol. I don't get out of bed until 7:30 🤣

Hahah yea 🤣 these guys I'm dealing with r horrible they just have me another check and I think 12 or more invoices r due so now I have to get ahold of them again and go through all this 😅. 7am start man is when u get alot of work done lol or get off early lol 😆 I'm used to waking up early from my old job but latly it's been hard to get up :/

I love when they call and say, "I have a very small job, its really easy and should only take you 10 min. Then you're like okkk,,,, what is it? Oh I need all the drywall in my ceiling hung, finished and painted, 2 toilets replaced, ext door hung and my roof repaired. 😂😂😂😂😂

I had one other day.....can u paint a 12x12 room and trim...i asked a few details and priced it, they said wow it will only take you a hr or 2? I said i gotta move all your furniture, tape everything off,sand your all cause it was last painted enamel, primer cause right now the walls are red & u want em white, paint all the trim then clean up amd put all your furniture back! Any you think all that is just 2 hrs? You think im speedy fking Gonzalez 😆 🤣
