I grew up in Sunday school and have listened to the songs you sing. With the popularity of contemporary gospel songs, these songs are rarely heard now. It’s so nice to have discovered your channel just recently & I have been missing these hymns. I also grew up in a Christian community in the Southern Philippines, in the heart of the moslem land, established by a missionary who graduated from the Bob Jones University. It’s so nice to hear these hymns sung in acapella where the emphasis is purely human voice & talent. It helps me relax & meditate on the love & care of Jesus. Thank you so much for sharing your talent to me & my wife. May God richly bless you, your family & ministry.

I love this old song. Nice rendition. My dad has this on an old record when I was a kid and now the Hoppers do a song called “Jerusalem” that the chorus reminds me of this song but not quite the same.

Michael…I love this number and your rendition is awesome. I remember my father singing this by our piano when I was a little boy. I’m no pro singer, but I’ve sung in a few choirs over the years. Purely for the joy of singing, I’m wondering if you could teach me to do this number in a similar fashion-let me know all the equipment I would need, how to get the arrangements, what you’re listening to as you sing each, part etc.

I start with lead, tenor, bass then bari. This was a project to arrange. For recording the technique is called multitrack recording. You need recording software and a computer for editing, and a video editing program. These may differ depending on if you have a pc or Mac. Start by researching simple multitrack recording techniques. There are studio recording bundles that have a mic, usb interface, and headphones combined. That’s all it takes to get started.

I wish you would re-do this for Christmas. I wish you would dramatically slow down the tempo on all the verses. I also wish you would sing the lead and really belt it out with feeling, you can add the timing in with the quire of you's singing background for you and adding in effects, like trumpet sounds and on the lead up to the belting out of "Jerusalem chorus" there should be a baseline with the bumpumpumpumpum bumpumpumpumpum JerU SAlem je RUSA LEM LIFT UP YOUR GATES AND SING HOSANNA LOUDER I - IN THE HIGHEST RED IN THE FACE!!
