Good old days when I used to buy them at my local Toys r Us and Dollar Tree😌 I would also do mix battles with plastic army men and lego figures too, or sometimes I would get small rocks and try to knock them down.

Always a winner. Its why its always interesting to hear about modern action figure complaints about not having enough articulation; as much as I liked the original G.I. Joe and Mego figures, me and my friends never seemed to even have issue with zero points of articulation.

Because you and your friends bought toys to play with them and have fun and those action figure collectors buy toys to hang them on their shelves to look nice.

Back in the early 60's I bought on a regular basis a unique type of plastic soldier which came in an elongated bag, they were called Cobra Battalion. Probably 30 figures in 3 basic poses as I remember. Included were pistol belts, 45's, Garand rifles, BAR rifles, helmets, M-1 carbines. Never enough equipment to totally outfit all the figures. Cannot find a trace anywhere of these figures, the figures were green and the equipment grey.

@@BrokenCircle1 I agree that $18 for 100 figures is a bit spendy but they sell smaller 48pc packs for $13 now which isn't so bad. It also isn't bad considering the quality and amount of figures you get 3 tanks for $20 isn't too bad imo but everyone has different budgets.

How come finding purple soldiers is so hard? I have all the other colours, apart from purple. The only other 2 that are sort of hard to find, but not impossible is yellow and orange. I occasionally come across yellow and orange, but purple are the hardest to get hold of, I even have pink army men too, but no purple. I think it would be awesome if toy soldier companies made aluminium soldiers too, the only aluminium soldiers I can find is antique soldiers, I want modern aluminium soldiers such as the ones shown on this video! Police figures are also fun to collect, most of them are blue and red, finding the grey ones is more difficult, why are some colours harder to find than others when it's all made in a factory? Purple and grey plastic would be easy to create, is there some reason some colours aren't made very often?

Nowadays plastic soldiers came from China. The quality are crap, IMHO. Too thin and flimsy. And yet they cost most than what I had back in the 80's & 90's from Hong Kong. Those were superior plastic soldiers with fine detailed figures. Well at least we got 3D printers now to help relive that nostalgic childhood days and share it with younger generations.
