In the first season at Citi Field, they learned the hard way that the new apple needed 2 minutes and 30 seconds to reset before it could be raised again. In one game, the Mets hit 2 home runs over the span of 3 plate appearances. It raised for the first, but not the second. This led to the fans chanting “We Want Apple!”

As a Yankees fan, I will still always love and admire the Mets' apple.

I love my teams wholesome history but there are so many tears that Apple has seen.
