Really? You're just going to gloss over Fincher's Social Network shot on the Red One in 2010? AFAIK that was the film that kicked the doors open for Red to succeed in Hollywood.

The Amazing Spider-Man was shot on the Red Epic not the Red One.

Just purchased a Red! So stoked!

I love RED ♥️. But it should improve the autofocus on their cameras to the level of Sony A1. Then they will truly become an all round cinema camera.

I disagree and think the autofocus would be terrible. Some Filmmakers have already become lazy since Gemini came with the dual ISO. Some newcomers own a RED, but have no idea how to set up the light properly. I already see how filmmakers with e.g. Sony A7S have a terrible/boring cinematography because they depend too much on the autofocus.

How can this have so few views? Super informative!

I read that he kept calling Sony to complain about their cameras and software, one of the reps told him he should make his own camera. Being a billionaire, he took them up on their offer, and the rest is history.

Red must produce mirrorless DSLR cameras and lenses to beat sony

Red is an amateur camera. Most Hollywood still uses arri cameras, both film and digital.

In terms of filmmaking, ARRI is preferred by the filmmakers.

1st standard digital camera coming out of Africa soon...

Now...Nikon bought Red....

The Red memory cards are a scam, not to mention the abusive patents and the abandonment to its users to be able to repair their the old cameras. Red is a bad company.
