The horniest mutant on earth, who's badassery can only be matched by Storm's (imho). It always killed me how she tossed Graydon away from being human, then tossed Nightcrawler away for being too inhuman, but absolutely refuses to this day to truly let Rogue go, even though she was merely adopted.

Mystique is an understandable villain. I understand her desire to survive. Her friendship with Destiny makes sense. Before this video, I just assumed the two were just old friends. I didn't know it went deeper than that.

Raven/Mystique gets around. I knew she was Nightcrawler's mother via Azezal, and her long romance with Destiny, but never knew she slept with Sabretooth/Victor Creed too & has the child Graydon Creed via him! Wow!

This was amazing. It seems Rogue comes in a close second after Destiny in terms of people who Mystique cares for besides herself. But it's clear the most important person in Raven's life is Raven.

There was that brief romance she had with Ice Man. She may have been undercover, but she still showed feelings for Bobby when she let him go instead of shooting him.

I've been a comic lover and collector for over 35 years. Videos like this take me back to when story was important over some hack political or social agenda. I will continue to watch these and maybe even go to a digital comic website to read some of the comics and series I don't have. Very Enlightening! In the movies, it appears that Rogue is the daughter of Mystique, but Rogue is adopted and Nightcrawler IS the son of Mystique. WOW!!! Captain marvel 2 will definitely have Rogue in it either as a end credit or her actually being apart of the plot. Mystique could also make a cameo just bc she can be anyone in the movie.

Its crazy the amount of mythology and other IP's Marvel was allowed to use. I never read comics so this is the first I've heard about Irene Adler. Maybe Sherlock Holmes was so brilliant cuz he was also a mutant.

Destiny’s Crystal Garden needs more exploration. It or the metaphor of it was used at the onset of Age of Apocalypse. Also always wondered if Mystique didn’t have an agreement for baby Kurt to be rescued.

A very butchered story. His retcon sucks and ruined Destiny, Mystique and sidelined Rogue

She can also rearrange her organs to prevent fatal injuries

If we ever get Mystique in the MCU, they should bring in Destiny. Destiny is a very interesting character in terms of her prophecy and how it’s used. In the short term, it looks like she’s doing some of the most heinous stuff eg working with Sinister in the 40’s. However, that work helped create his gene library, allowing him to use it on Krakoa. And she sees all possible futures. Legion didn’t kill her because she was in his way. He killed her because he looked into her mind and it terrified him.

Was this Irene Adler meant to be the same as Sherlock Holmes's (other) nemesis, whom he always highly admired and called "THE Woman"?

The part of mystique giving birth to Kurt makes way more sense than his new origin of destiny being his mom and mystique his dad. There were actual people there who saw it so how the hell did they just change it out of the blue. Plus he looks just like Azazeal with the same power set. Now she is just mimicking his physiology to give birth. It just makes no damn sense.To me it sounds like they are trying too hard to be progressive and the original writer claims that this was what he wanted all along comes off as fake. Everything doesn't need a retcon.

The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants lineup with Destiny, Avalanche, Blob, Pyro, Mystique and Rogue is the one I remember the most when they teamed with ROM Spaceknight going up against the horror Dire Wraith called Hybrid. Mystique has always been an interesting character but she has many red in her ledger.

Because Sherlock Holmes is in the public domain, she is the actual Irene Adler. Or at least a character they say the books are based on. With Mystique’s male alias that she married Irene as, Eric Raven, being a private detective at the time. Aka… Mystique might be Sherlock Holmes. And Steven Moffat is probably annoyed someone did sapphic Sherlock Holmes before him lol.

This video has made me realize how truly gay coded Rogues vibes are She was kicked out by her family for kissing someone and then she got taken in by a lesbian couple who loved her and raised he. As well as the fact that whilst she gave birth to Nightcrawler, Mystique is closer to Rogue who she raised with Destiny. Claremont couldn’t outright say it back in the day and got it past censors by having Destiny look much older than Mystique despite them being the same age. Rogue only referred to Mystique as her mother during this time. However, when Destiny was temporarily resurrected in Necrosha, she finally called her Mom as well. It’s a very touching moment.
