Well to be fair, Cetrion is an Elder God herself, so maybe they meant any being less powerful than an Elder God can't kill them? Then again, Johnny and Cassie have that green power thing, so what do I know? Now the real question is how did Cetrion kill the rest of the gods by herself?

@@darkskull1982 Thunder God Liu Kang killed Kronika and at best he is a lesser God, whereas Kronika is supposedly higher than the elder Gods, whom apparently cannot be killed, like when the lesser God Raiden cut Shinoks head off, except when they can. Like when Centrion purportedly killed all the other elder Gods, or when Certion got absorbed into Kronika in Aftermath. Or when Shang Tsung killed Kronika again in Aftermath. Or in Mk4 in Jaxs ending when they say Shinok is dead. Basically don't ever expect mk to adhire to even cursory levels of consistency. They have been inconsistent and retconning there lore since day one. They seriously don't give af for basic continuity, consistency, or even logic even within one game. (Like present versions of characters taking damage because past versions got hurt, not even consistently applied in mk11, even just within the first story mode.)

I have had that same thought both because it makes sense given his attire and abilities and desires as well as an explanation for why he was so powerful. I imagined that a combination of his heritage as a war god (having godly strength and war and conflict making him stronger), his soul magic, blood magic (he apparently taught Skarlet) and merging the realms is what makes him so threatening to the Elder Gods because besides his divine origin he has other means of power making him stronger than the average god and capable of threatening the Elder Gods if they directly faced him.

I've thought this for a while. It actually makes more sense if you take into account that it seems that there is only one pantheon of gods that are just known by different names. Like Raiden-Haokah-Zeus or Lucifer-Hades. Look at Shao (especially in his more armored MK11 skins) and tell me that's not Ares, especially when you remember that Johnny is "descended from a Mediterranean war cult" and that he and Cass share the energy charge move with Shao, he could easily be Ares.

The absolute dumbest thing about it is that MKX claimed that Elder God is unkillable which is why Shinnok's head still lives. He also does so in MK11, but then when Raiden goes to consult the Elder Gods, Cetrion claims they are all dead. I just love how MK11 shits all over both MK9 and MKX (and pretty much every other MK game).

It would still be a bit far fetched, but it's way better than claiming they are unkillable in one game and then killing most of them one game later without explanation.

But as you stated you don't know and this explanation opens even more plot holes. If Kronika and Cetrion could take down Elder Gods so easily how are you suppose to believe that she can't handle bunch of Earthrealmers and Outworlders invading their island. If Kharon can't be killed by D'vorah, why Kronika didn't take care of him herself or send Cetrion to deal with him first. And how Kharon or Geras are even immortal, while freaking Elder Gods aren't? It just doesn't add up. TLDR; trying to make sense of MK11's plot is a wasted effort.

Can I just say that I love when Snake uploads his critisms? Mainly because I hardly ever see anyone in the MK community criticizing the actions NRS have been making. Every other person I've known has just bobble headed and argued with me no matter how chill I could be talking about what NRS could've done better. This is the ONE youtube channel I could find thus far that isn't afraid to say what's up with NRS and the new timeline. Nobody else seems to be able to deal with their precious game "doing a Bad" and they think just getting angry and arguing is going to make their point any more valid.

@@flair541 Literally the entire reason I got into this game as a kid was because of it having to do with the story. My mother's main was always Sindel back in MK Trilogy to Deception, and as a little kid I thought it was interesting that Sindel had a daughter and decided to play Kitana because it fit, and that's literally one of my best mains now. Kitana is one of my favorite characters. My mom and I are both extremely upset by Sindel's retcon too. She always loved the story as well. Plus, I am huge on these kinds of stories in general.

Your Raiden cosplay is most amusing.

Fujin in his bio in Armageddon says that after his death, Raiden had to be reborn in Earthrealm with no memory. He would be the new God of thunder, neither evil nor good. But for some reason, he remembers what happened to him. If that's the case, then it is unknown why other gods weren't reborn after their death in MK4 comic. Also, Argus became Elder God in one of the endings in Armageddon.

The other gods were reborn. Bi Han killed all of them, they were reborn and 3 or them (water, fire, earth) were killed again when Shinnok invaded.

Kid Thunder is the key to all of this. We can get Kid Thunder working, cuz he’s a funnier character than what we had in any other title.

The concept of Titans is pretty dumb. What could be above the Elder Gods? Time, alright, I can accept that. But there are others? What are they? Titan of space? And how can they be killed or manipulated as shown in some endings? I mean, I don't recall it ever being the case for Elder Gods, although I may be forgetting something. Also, Kronika manipulates time but nothing else, she just reboots timelines until she get one she likes because apparently she can't get rid of Raiden or Liu Kang by rebooting/making a timeline. So, is she that strong compared to the Elder Gods? Snake is right, an Elder God of Time would have been better. This demigod thing is stupid too!! How can they do that? Were they drunk or are they just stupid? They call Liu Kang "Fire God" but Raiden and Fujin "demigods"? Come on!

the sad thing is that titans """""would""""" work and I say that with a lot of quotations if they wrote the titans as byproducts of the one being being split into realms. meaning that this way titans can be ranked at the level of elder gods and possibly higher. if they wanted to make kronika stronger than the other elder gods you could say that only 7 titans were born, 6 representing the realms and kronika ruling above all titans via her domination of time and space and giving them the ability to create and devour elder gods to explain the stupidity in mk11.

My god, can someone start telling every writer to follow the lore and fix any inaccurate!

Its almost like putting people who have no actual skill in writing, can't make up their minds, and generally don't understand MK at all in charge of the story and lore was a bad idea or something

Oh gods. The whole "Shao Kahn may have been a god" bit made me think of that _Mortal Kombat: Annihilation_ abomination even before you brought it up. It truly is a gift that keeps on giving. As much as people might disagree on certain aspects of the NRS era, I honestly have never seen anyone say they like the Titan retcon. Maybe it's just because Kronika is the only on-screen example, and she only ever fucks up though. Shrug. Speaking of "fucking up", I wouldn't be surprised if the atrocious writers shown in the video tried to retcon it that Cetrion and Shinnok were born just from Kronika making sweet "balance" to an aspect of The One Being rather than it being another individual god or titan. Sort of like how Aphrodite was born from Uranus's castrated genitals or Athena was born from Zeus's forehead after he ate her mother--no, there's not supposed to be an "out" there.

Maybe Kronika's race may as well be a remnant of The One Being, but the power scaling in NRS games throws that out of the window. Cetrion can replace Kronika as the main villain as an Elder God that may as well have given mortals a cruel fate/warning and nothing about it will change.

Also, if NRS had specified that the supposed Titans were like realm personifications that were unknowingly extensions of The One Being or something, then that *might* have been interesting enough to make up for them coming out of nowhere even if it still wouldn't excuse Kronika herself and her role, much less her stupidity. As it is, Kronika is just one of the best examples why "deus ex machina" and "diabolus ex machina" characters and the plots surrounding them generally tend to be so terrible. Sigh. Such a waste of both Jennifer Hale's and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn's otherwise excellent voice acting.

Fujin kinda has to be a "demi-god", since he was defeated by Bi-Han, alongside other elemental "gods" in their respective temples. Which suggests that Fujin wasn't super powerfull in original timeline. It could work if you assume that Raiden, as a "Realm Protector" gets a bit more power than usuall "gods" and that he is older, and thus more powerfull for that reason. Rain could be a demi-god, because his father was "Realm Protector", but the fact that he was born also from mortal woman means he is weaker, alongside the fact that he is way younger than Raiden, or Fujin is. Sounds about right to place power of those "gods" in their age and by whom they were created and in what way. Time to untangle NRS mess. So it should go in this way: One Being creates Elder Gods. Elder gods create all the realms from splitting One Being. The split not only creates realms, but also Titans. Titans get power over "metaphysical" elements like time and probably space, maybe there is some that could "bend" gravity itself, some that would specialise in pure light etc. Most of them doesn't care and do nothing, while Kronika schemes. Or One Being creates Titans alongside Elder Gods. Elder Gods rebel and try to split One Being. They would have to do it with help of the Titans, especially Kronika. She, in exchange gets to create two new Elder Gods as a reward. In that case Titans quite literally "fuck off" to space, or something like that, but not Kronika, which gets too gready and now wants to create perfect timeline. Then Realm Protectors are being created to ensure that realms wouldn't be so easly put back together. Elder Gods would have to somehow suspect Titans trying their shenanigans, thus giving Realm Protectors special protection against time manipulation and generally, a lot of power. Fujin was meant from the beginning as potential Raiden replacement, thus he also got the same treatment, but doesn't equal Raiden in power, he is a "demi-god" by "role". This requires that "demi-god" is just a title and nothing else beside slight immunity to time manipulations. Which would be the only logical explenation. To be a "god" you have to be a Realm Protector, to be a "demi-god" you just need to have some connection to "gods", or "Elder Gods", but nothing else. Thats why merge between Raiden and Liu Kang is called "Fire God Liu Kang", because Raiden passed his "Realm Protector" title to Liu Kang and thus made him a "god". Why this title, or "demi-god" title holds any power in itself? No idea. NRS logic. Demi-god is just an empty title in NRS timeline, doesn't mean shit. Current Sub-Zero could be called a "demi-god", but he doesn't have any connection to gods, or Elder Gods, so he isn't one. Rain is called a "demi-god" just because his father was a god, but that doesn't mean anything. Since Rain is only a DLC character, that means that in cannon he is pretty much dead, because Kronika easly killed him after he refused her offer. She couldn't kill Fujin, Shang Tsung, or young Nightwolf, because they... Have to be a demi-gods now. While with Fujin its certain, Nightwolf has to be also a "demigod" thanks to his connection to the Great Spirit and this also has to mean that Shang Tsung is also a "demi-god". And this requires "demi-god" title to have tiers. High-tier for Fujin, Low to Medium Tier for Nightwolf and Shang Tsung and Low Tier for Rain. Rain has to be just a big jackass to brag about being a "demi-god" when in reality, half of the known fighters have to be atleast low-tier demigods as he is. He is just a son to Realm Protector, so he thinks he is a hot shit.

I always believe that those pre-fight dialogues are non-cannon or at least interaction with dlc characters. So unless they mention Rambo in the next game and that Fujin talked to him I don’t think that’s cannon

Jesus, writers of MK11, make up your minds already..... Honestly, if I were writing everything from scratch, I'd keep the whole god thing very simple to understand in a straight-forward heiharchy. The One Being at the top, then the Elder Gods, then just fully-fledged gods (of thunder like Raiden or wind like Fujin) and finally at the bottom you have all the mortals. None of this demi-god stuff which makes things confusing.

Thank you for addressing this!!! I've been playing MK11 more lately and the other day I heard Cetrion refer to Raiden as a demigod while playing, and I was SO pissed about it lol. I literally just said "What the fuck? He's not a demigod." outloud to the TV lmao

In animation, it's pretty common to put together a "bible" in preproduction so that everyone is on the same page. They used to do something similar in comics, since they were dealing with a large number of writers and artists constantly passing the books around. Comic editors used to also have a lot more control at the helm, staying on books much much longer than anyone else to maintain a continuity. When MK was rebooted with 9, NRS really should have put together a bible and have someone in charge of making sure the lore was always consistent.

I remember thinking the Elder Gods were supposed to be these larger then life figures that had to treat the Realms delicately in order to preserve them. Which is why Mortal Kombat was formed in the first place. Them, manifesting into our reality would destroy our reality. But no apparently they’re just stronger then average dudes that can be beat by people if they used McGuffins. It’s such an underwhelming presentation of the power scale and escalation snd it’s no excuse since mortal kombat makes so much money anyways, they can afford epic cutscenes for Pete sakes. You know I used to think the reason why Shinnok sucked so bad in MK4 was because A. He was fallen and B. Gameplay limitations. But apparently this is just typical of what the Gods are in MK. Sad.

@@justbny9278 At first I like that in MK2011 they stated that invading was fine, but merging the realms was forbidden. But thinking back, that makes little sense. If you can just invade and still conquer a realm, what's the big deal with merging then? Easier transportation?

God damn, the ending joke was pretty creative ngl.

It feels like the lore in Mortal Kombat is just whatever Boon and company want it to be at any given moment, and we all just have to go "yeah, alright."

I'm predicting it to be movie length.

Rain, Taven and Daegon like their father are actually protectors and princes of Edenia but Rain is evil and Daegon woke from his slumber with side effects making him bad.

What’s anyone’s thoughts on Rains ending from MK11? I think it’s fine ,but I hated how they made Argus seem like an absolute ass! Making him say to his lover that her son is stillborn? WHY THE HELL IS DOMINIC FINE WITH CHARACTER ASSASSINATIONS? Argus in the original timeline simply had an affair and regretted it yet he didn’t kill anyone!

Yeah, to be frank, having Rain turning out not to be the son of Argus, but as the son of Argus’ rival just as a twist with her mother remaining the same just with different hubby, with Delia serving yet as another rival for Amara.

I hope nrs replace their current writers, I love this series and I don't want it to be ruined any further. ;-;

Tbh, the whole Titans over the One Being thing was dumb since that was the last REAL threat in the original timeline (Blaze was more of a challenge for anyone who could reach him in my eyes)

I just realized something...in the opening to MK11's story, Shinnok talks about how the Elder Gods cast him out for speaking a truth...why didn't the writers make that truth be the existence of the Titans? Like, the Titans' existence is supposed to be a secret, and Shinnok was cast out for speaking about it. Maybe he spoke about it because he wanted to use the Titans to destroy all life and prevent The One Being from ever being awakened. It's not great, but it would have at least been AN explanation for why Titans were never mentioned before.

So much potential for the Gods in general. A Blood Elder God could be a cool anti-villain, perhaps a Khorne like being that relishes bloodshed and keeps influencing conflicts between the realms, but with an honorable streak, perhaps even with a goal of preventing peaceful unity between the realms which might bring back the One Being. A reverse of Shinnok, a god with the goal of preserving the Univers, but with evil methods. They didn't even have to create the Titans to have Cetrion be a mother of Elder Gods. She could be like Hera, herself an Olympian and mother of two other Olympians, as well some lesser gods. The mother Time, with her children Beginning and End, Life and Death.

0:06 to 0:10 "Lets go back to the beginning and see if we can untangle this yarn ball of a cannon." "We can't." That's basically Mortal Kombat lore in nutshell nowadays.

Mortal Kombat could’ve done so much with the Whole Pantheon thing. They could’ve had it that our heroes came to realize that some of them are descendants from ancient gods or elder gods from millennia ago like What they did with Johnny Cage in his MK9 ending, and they could have Sonya be a descendant of an Amazon which will explain why she is so strong and is skilled with any weapon she can pick up and Kano can be the man who was good enough to put up a fight with her mother killing her and Sonya is out for revenge. And have Lui Kang well he’s fine actually. I can go more in depth with it but then we’d be here all day But that’s just my lil fantasy😊

To me it always sounded like they was just trying to differentiate God beings and Elder Gods but all they had to do was refer to Raiden, Fujin, Liu Kang, etc as Lesser Gods instead of Demigods because that literally contradicts a basic definition that you can google search and especially when we have three literal (by definition) demigods that exist in the Mortal Kombat universe which are Taven, Daegon and Rain.

I wonder how Shao Kahn a god when nobody acknowledge him as one and he served Onaga.

My Guess is you lose the title when betraying the gods I.e Shinnok no one referse to him as god in game matches thus far outside of MKX Onaga as stated in game sources is more powerful then the Elder gods he combining Realms without MK tournaments and Elder gods can do nothing about it

Shinnok is always referred as a fallen god cause he betrayed the Elder Gods and they stripped him of his title and banned him to the NetherRealm he's still a god though now since it's retcon Cetrion his sister help take part in that and combing the realms brings back the One Being and gods can be harmed but they cannot die.

Onaga was able to casually tank Raiden self destruction attack, so I would say he just plain forced a young Shao to submit at the time.

I want to know how Rain is a weak god and all others are stronger than he is.

There's an exchange in Cetrion vs Jade fights where they say people in Outworld worship the One Being. Sure, whatever.

That Raiden cosplay is really what ties this whole video together

I think a simple solution to the Titans backstory would be that the One Being originally fed off the essence of the Titans like it did with the Elder Gods and the Titans created the Elder Gods as substitutes to selfishly protect themselves from the One Being...only for the Elder Gods to shatter the One Being and then seek revenge on their "parents" causing them to go into hiding. Kronika was able to convince Cetrion and Shinnok (who she personally created, hence why she is their "mother") that she was a necessary part of the universe and that the two of them represented the balance between the realms, making them necessary as well.

Edd Boon called Kid thunder Raiden's son in a recent interview.

Maybe Raiden and Fujin were demigods before becoming lesser gods and that’s why some people refer to them as such? If Shao Khan is in that family, maybe it explains why he isn’t a god? If they keep going down this Greek Myth root we’re eventually going to be fighting primordials. Can’t tell if it’ll be more or less stupid then Kronika. Suppose you could do something interesting with them by maybe making them based on each of the realms and having their personalities and appearances be based on the races living there. Like the earthrealm one is mostly human while the outworld one could be a big fusion of all the outworld races. Lastly if the titans are supposed to be modelled after the titans of Greek myth, wouldn’t that make the One Being Chaos, which would put the titans way under its power level?

All we had to do was follow the damn continuity, NRS!

A small detail you missed but Shinnok has been immortal since MK4, I think its mentioned in his own Ending of the game. Edit: If Elder Gods are immortal how did Centrion "Kill" the other Elder Gods like she says... Or is it supposed to be just Shinnok?

My knowledge of Greek Myth is a little rusty but I remember there being Primordial gods - Gaia and Uranus, who birthed the Titans, who birthed the Olympian gods. So in Mortal Kombat terms, it would mean the One Being is like the Primordial Gods, and the Titan's are like the, well Titans and the Elder Gods are like the Olympian gods? Then we have the Demi Gods so I guess the Greek equivalent would be Hercules? But if Rain is a Demi-god with a human mother and god father, does that mean Fujin and Raiden have a human parent? Oww my brain!

Slightly unrelated but I think that cetrion could be a very good character if they take inspiration from dc and make the elder gods like the guardians and make cetrion like ganthet

I have an idea. Let her start in mk11 as her mother's pawn, but her actions leading her to rethink her perspective of "virtue", switching sides to fire and thunder god liu kang when he arrives, which will make seem kronika's defeat logical. Also, I believe kronika should not be defeated in this frame, but I aftermath with the help of raiden, fujinn and Shang taung alongside cetrion and liu kang, making it seem a logical end for a mighty titan.

I’ll bet you were very proud of that joke on Kronika, because I really like seeing you dressed as Raiden for some reason.

I assume Kronika is just a REALLY REALLY POWERFUL Elder God with delusions of grandeur, maybe she was the first one, or the one that dealt the final blow to the One Being. No need for bloody titans, it doesn't fit the mythology at all.

He keeps repeating himself about this question so I'll answer it for you: he will release a critique once ALL the story/DLC fighters are released. So it will not be anytime soon unless netherrealm studios announces no more fighters/updates. Once that has happened, he will then start working on his critique which will be about everything mk11 related.- including aftermath and guest characters. Hope this answered your question!

NRS should keep an eye on this channel and half their problem would go away.

People complain how cetrion killed elder gods when they're supposed to be immortal, I have an answer. She switched off elder god lights so that raiden can't consult with them.

If the made Kronika a full powered Elder god of time, that wouls still make her the strongest enemy faced yet (shinok was a fallen elder god so lost a lot of power) without ruining the lore. And they could ahve made Cetrion (her daughter) the godess of virtue and guardian of the order relm (so on par with Raiden)... which would not only fit better, it would be a nod to the unmentioned relms AND it would line up with Cetrion's motivations and make her come across as less of a petty hipocrite.

If you heard about the intro of armageddon mk, i speculate that because of the constant kombat, blessings, and resurrections, all kombatants raise themselves to the point of as strong as lesser gods or more

In Greek Mythology, Primordials were the beings above Titans. So it wouldn’t surprise if Netherrealm introduced another race if being even stronger then Titans because why not?

The whole demi-god stuff is just terrible and it screws up the canonicity of which god is less/more powerful (or of equal power) than others. Hell, in my own notes for a hard reboot of the MK timeline (and I mean rebooting EVERYTHING), I had to change Rain's story so that it was King Jerrod than had the affair, not Argus. Rain was born then later became general of his army, which he then sold out to Emperor Shao Kahn in return for becoming his advisor. After Jerrod's death, Rain made it his goal to become king of Edenia by any means necessary because being born from Jerrod, he saw this as his birthright, even if that meant killing Queen Sindel and her daughter Princess Kitana. Rain would later become so powerful, he'd be a fully-fledged god of water, much like how Raiden is god of thunder. As a result, Rain and the rest of the gods are just that. Elemental gods that are all equal in power to one another. As for Taven, in my notes, he has his own separate story which is completely different and he is not connected to Edenia, Argus etc., while Daegon simply doesn't exist in my rebooted MK universe.

Can you please makeup Jerrod's brother or something but not him. Mk has made a person killed by all and his wife a thot. Atleast, let his ideals remain attached. I want an earth god because it’s such an underrepresented element. It’s very clear when you realize we have every other element represented (sometimes the same one across multiple characters). I miss Tremor

Idea about why you can kill a titan: you can't. What if the weird glass/shattering thing was kind of like Dr. Manhattan's atomization? She isn't dead but she's basically trapped in this endless limbo of numbness that she can't break out of. Follow up: the idea of Lucifer existing in MK has my inner fanfic writer going absolutely ape shit.

I don't think Kid Thunder is canon, his presence seems to be for joking matters on the writers' part but, it is fun making room for him in the canon. If so, where his place during his uncle's supposed death and reinvention as an more darker god lol. I believe he only returned for fan service in MK11 through Raiden's friendship, fondly enough. ⚡

It is show you how netherrealm don't care about their old story and make crap up as they go

Solution to the titan thing: The one Being, a somewhat malevolent but lazy being created say, 12 beings of lesser power to serve him, each being granted influence over an aspect of it to better serve it. Eond pass and a divide becomes visible, with one group (elder gods) opposing the one being while the other one (titans) stand with it. A war breaks out and the Titans lose, being outnumbered by the Elder Gods (if you really wanns pull from myth, make Shinnok a Loki analougue where it was he who tricked the Titans into becoming mortals). Made mortal and surprised, the titans where eiyher slaughtered or exiled once the realms where made, whit each god splitting its essence to form lesser beings in order to aid in any future fight and to also help administer the realms. With time, the elder gods either become lazy and forget what their original goal was or they become paranoid and must defend and upgrade whatever barrier keeps Titans away. Kronika, titan of time, fled the battle and was presumed dead thanks to Cetrion and Shinok, who felt awful about killing their own kin and warned Kronika in advance to assure she would survive (can even justify this by saying she mentored the two, for life and death work within time). Kronika hides in the realms, biding her time and hoping to gsin enough power to travel back and prevent the fall of the titans, the breaking of the one being, or the creation of the wall that keep her kind out. Titans and Elder Gods are kin, but titans have a power boost bc they never split parts of them to make/grant powers to the lesser gods (or the creation of the realms). Ofc, Titans being srrong is upset by the fact they can die, while Elder Gods cannot. Also, Titans inhabiting outside the known universe leads to them being... odd and alien, explaining sll the eldritch things we see in some endings. Sure, Kronika now has no literal kids (and no other really does) but thats okay. This way we can see the Titans as more comparable to Elder gods (yet still somewhat stronger) and arguably existing "above" (read: outside) the One Being's corpse. Yes this reads like Elder Scrolls, but its less generic than copy pasting greek myths.

Titans is a pointless concept to work around anyway so you’re not losing sleep over it. And the One Being is and always will be the embodiment of the universe itself.

Yeah, you're right, Raiden and Fujin are full Gods, not Demi-Gods (like Rain, Taven and Daegon). It's a big mistake that I hate 😡

I reccomend Tabmok99’s video on the subject. Based on that I believe Shao Kahn to be a protector god just like Argus, Raiden, and Lucifer

My theory is that onaga is a reincarnated physical form version of the one being, but the one being might be related to shinnok since he has a dragon form he uses in mk mythology (It might be lucifer form since I think he stole his power to make Quan chi a sorcerer instead of an oni changing his physical form) and in MKX he revives the one being allowing him to kill all the elder gods except for shinnok, MK Deception onaga was trapped in netherealm and had no choice but to work with shinnok to free himself, they seem to comfortable working together that's my theory

I could accept the Titan concept if there were just two, one for space (which would be the One Being since he literally is the universe) and one for time and from these spawned the Elder Gods and from them spawned lesser gods for the individual realms. That way instead of making the Elder Gods look weaker, it moreso establishes an original race that they spawned from and there is only two so there isn't just a much stronger race than the Elder Gods. I feel this would also explain why Shinnok's MKX ending has him bringing back the One Being since with this concept, the One Being would be his father and it could also give Kronika an actual motive for keeping the realms balanced because if there was an imbalance, the One Being could return either through villains merging the realms and recreating him or the natural order being so messed up that it wakes him up and he starts rebuilding himself. Instead however its just another super race of gods that are on paper stronger than Elder Gods (but Shinnok, a fallen Elder God, could take on two regular gods, Kronika couldn't beat a fusion of a regular god and a mortal) and the writer is trying to make his original character do not steal out to be the strongest so she's apparently stronger than the One Being who is literally responsible for every conflict in the game since he pushes Onaga and Shao-Kahn to conquer and merge realms. They even stole that position because apparently its actually Kronika pulling the strings. Its like in the MCU where they hype up Thanos as the end game boss and then later on they swap them out for some new character we have never seen and THEY'RE actually the main threat who's been pulling the strings and is stronger than Thanos. Its funny how the new writers fucked the power levels up so much that even the ONE BEING is somehow downgraded, and he hasn't even gotten a chance to fight.

So Elder Gods can't be killed but Lesser God can die. Yet Fujin survives Bi Han's attempt at kiling him and Raiden comes back after he tries to kill Onaga. Lesser Gods like Raiden are like OG timeline Specter Scorpion who just comes back from the dead after some time?

Guys, I thought one more weird thing. Remember when kronika said Raiden that they have done this time reversal several times. This means cetrion worked with kronika several times. This means cetrion needed to eradicate the elder gods every timeline. So, elder gods are bound in laws of time now?

At this point I'm just ready for either MK 12 or Injustice 3 to come out so all this MK stuff can be done this with

In my head cannon, kronika is the titan of time, and the one being is the titan of space. hence why when he's split up it becomes entirely different realms

I came back to this video remembering the scrapped MK Deadly Alliance character Baphomet. He is described to be an "Elder Demon" and I always wondered how that could've worked and what an Elder Demon actually does?
