Since we are talking about this area of Central Europe historically, you really can't use 'Czechia' as the best title. This general nation, as you should know, is split between three major regions with their own proud histories and cultures. To use 'Czechia', you are using a word that is strictly derived from "Čechy" which only means the Bohemian region alone. Obviously this is inaccurate if you are also including Moravian and Silesian regional histories. So I would recommend using 'Czech Lands' to refer to ALL the regions. Trust me, Moravians and Silesians do not like being referred to as 'Bohemians'. It has unfortunately been a common mistake for centuries to call the entire nation as 'Bohemia' or whatever variant like it.

Fun fact: Bohemia was the biggest region of *_The Holy Roman Empire_*

Moc super vůdců a vladařů zase nebylo: po divých poloopicích zvaných Přemyslovci Karel IV, pak až Rudolf II. pak Marie Terezie a Josef II, no a možná císař Ferdinand a pak i dejme tomu FJ I. A to je všechno. Ostatní se až tak o prosté lidi a vzkvétání země nestarali.

Lepiej się lubić, reprezentując wartości chrześcijańskie, a nie prawa dżungli. A fakt faktem, zarówno my, jak i Czesi to zachodni Słowianie, a nasze języki są BARDZO podobne. Czechs have a very rich history. I'm Slovak and also a bit envious about it (in a good way :)). We Slovaks were probably lesser in numbers and, despite having a common kind of "state" organization in the form of Great Moravia, we got swallowed by the Hungarian Empire. Czechs really have a lot to be proud of as far as history goes.

@@theoteddy9665 Dnes už môžeme iba špekulovať, ako by to dnes vyzeralo, keby v 7., 8. a 9. storočí politická situácia bola priaznivejšia zjednoteniu západoslovanských kmeňov/resp. nadkmeňových útvarov. Ale história to chcela inak. Dúfam, že navždy ostaneme bratské národy, bola by obrovská škoda, keby odkaz Československa, aj keď nebolo perfektné, zapadol do zabudnutia.

@@theoteddy9665 Neřekl bych. Naše historie je v podstatě o dost bohatší než jejich a po většinu času jsme byli dva kompletně odlišné národy. A ačkoliv spoustu lidí spojuje Čechy a Slováky jako ''vzdálené bratry a sestry'' ,tak se to velké většině lidí nelíbí (Slovo čobolák a čecháček jsou tomu důkazem)

Myslím, že je to následek zrušení zemských zřízení a vytvoření zřízení krajských v roce 1948, což prakticky znamenalo přesunutí moci do Prahy. A nemyslím si, že by se to nelíbilo jen Slovákům, ale i Moravanům. Možná proto se mluví o čecháčcí. Označení čobol se používá až od roku 1992 podle jedné hlášky z černých baronů... Asi že čecháčci už toho moc nenadělali proti osamostatnění Slováků.

S istotou viem, že drvivá väčšina Slovákov má dodnes nadštandardne pozitívny vzťah k Čechom, a to aj generácia, ktorá si už spoločný štát nepamätá. Históriu máte bohatšiu, bezpochyby, a bezpochyby sa na oboch stranách nájdu takí, ktorí sa, pre mňa nepochopiteľne, pozerajú na tých druhých "cez prsty". Ale o to tu predsa nejde. Ide o to, že sme vyše sedemdesiat rokov žili v jednom štáte, nie z donútenia, ale úplne dobrovoľne. Prežili sme spolu veľa dobrého aj zlého navzájom sa podržali. A dovolím si povedať, že pre väčšinu bola príslušnosť k spoločnému štátu rovnako dôležitá, ako národná príslušnosť. Vytvorilo sa nekonečne veľa väzieb na každej úrovni, hlavne na tej osobnej a medziľudskej. Zmiešané manželstvá sa v podstate ani nepovažovali za zmiešané. Tak prečo páliť mosty, ktoré tak dobre slúžili tak dlho?

@Tibor Jansa Ano, máte pravdu. Rakouským zemím vládl jako vévoda, nikoliv jako český král. Takže pokud by to byly opravdu dějiny českých zemí, jak to je v názvu videa, tak by tam být neměly. Stejně tak by tam nemělo být Polsko u Václava II. a III. Pokud to berou podle toho, kde všude ten daný panovník vládl, tak správně říkáte, že u Václava III. by pak mělo být i Uhersko. Alespoň ta část, kterou skutečně ovládal. K těm jménům. U jmen panovníků je běžné, že se překládají. My také říkáme, že v Anglii byl třeba Jindřich VIII., Alžběta I., ve Francii Ludvík XIV. a podobně. Stejně tak oni pro Václava používají anglickou (resp. původně latinskou) podobu Wenceslaus a pro Otakara podobu Otokar. Není to komolení, je to prostě překlad. U prezidentů a ostatních lidí už se to dnes nedělá, takže tam to uvádějí v původní české podobě.

@@attilatasciko4817 Nobody is denying we were under HRE rule in that time, but some emperors and kings of HRE were partly Czechs so it's not exactly true that Germans ruled here, for example Charles IV (golden age of Czech lands) was Holy Roman Emperor and half Czech from mother side.

@@walkelftexasranger We've hated and fought with France for more than a thousand years and it took one generation of open minded and critical thinking people to change that to a friendship because everyone realized that our reasons to have fought so many wars wasn't because of our character, appearance, culture etc. Young German people like me still pay the price of the nazi-generation, which we didn't know, didn't love, didn't accept as part of our culture. We literally have nothing to do with them. Just a common geographical birth-location... That's a reason to hate people flagged as "Germans"? A pretty stupid reason if you ask me.

Great effort, thank you, but... next time don't put visuals (year, map, infobox) in three different places on screen, it makes it impossible to keep pace - you could easily combine year counter with the infobox. Also, modern country borders (possibly, big physical features like mountain ranges, too) could be nice to have to make sense of terrtorial changes. Also, big changes in territory could be announced on map (like what happened when great chunk of land went away? or vice versa?) The great jump in the end, to the 1918 is confusing, I thought here's a glitch in video :)))

The title is incorrect. If it is the history of Czech Republic, neither the Czech Duchy nor the Czech Kingdom can be in this history. The Czech Republic was founded in 1993 after the breakup of Czechoslovakia. The title of the film should be: History of the Czech state
