The History of Chuck E. Cheese’s in Louisville KY
Ойын-сауық
Here it is, the history of Chuck E. Cheese's in Louisville KY.
In this video I go over the history of all 3 Louisville Chuck E. Cheese locations from Preston Hwy, St. Matthews, & Hurstbourne Pkwy!
This is one of the most complex videos I've ever made. I spent a little over a month researching and finding the right things for this video, this is also the first video I made using a script I wrote. This is also the first episode of a new series I want to do where I go over the history of something I like.
I just want to thank everyone for helping me with this project. From the people who gave me info from Facebook to everyone on KZread, subscriber or not.
NOTE: this channel is recommended for ages 13+ and NOT for kids. This channel may contain videos not suitable for children and have adult language or other things kids shouldn't be exposed to. While some of my videos may be ok for kids to watch I assure you the rest is sure as hell not!

The King was in his own room in the NH/MA locations too. I recall that as being the room where all of the dads sat away from the kids, smoking cigarettes and drinking pitchers of beer. Ah, the good ol’ days, 😂

If you look up vintage chuck e cheese, you can find several online shopping sites listing vintage Chuck e cheese and showbiz ashtrays lmao. My mom talked about smoking was everywhere, even in shopping centers. The 80s sounded wild. I remember in the 90s early 2000s smoking was still allowed in most restaurants. Maybe I'll buy one of those ashtrays hahaha.

exactly...that's where the older people sat. I was scared of that lion...he gave me nightmares... LOL
In Louisville back in the mid 80s, if you brought your report card in, you would get 5 tokens for every A and 3 for every B. It was back when I was in 6th or 7th grade (so 1984-1986ish). I remember it because we got an academic grade and conduct grade. I remember going into the Shelbyville Road mall and getting something like 60 tokens on report card day. Good times. I think the next year, they started capping it at 20 tokens. Yeah... Chuck E Cheese took over Max and Ermas.. It was tucked over on one of the side spurs. The mall location was considerably smaller with fewer games. They were all packed in the room. In 1985, I remember it had Star Wars, Tron, Dragon's Lair (big deal because it was the first laserdisc game and it was frequently broken when it skipped its track), Pac Mac, Galaga. For a time, both locations were the best place in Louisville to play video games with a better selection than Aladdin's Castle.

I went here as a kid and I remember walking up to the Chuck e Cheese animatronic, which wasn't moving, and thought that it would move and grab me if I touched it. I never really considered the animatronic itself as part of the location, more of just a horrifying entity that punished those who went into places that they did not belong., ie the back of the store.

YESSSSSSS... I grew up in Louisville and that Preston HWY location was the BEST! They made a lot of money off Parents in Louisville... LOL... I was always afraid of that Elvis Lion character in the front! I don't know why...but he scared the h3ll out of me! He was loud, he growled and I remember trying to AVOID that section of the Preston location! Now I loved the cheese holes underneath the stage with chuck e cheese etc... What we had in the 80s was way better...then they started getting cheap, taking away all the sections to fit more people in there... by the time my niece was going in the late 00's... it was a shadow of what I remember growing up in the 80's. When they closed that location, they closed a huge section of our childhood...

Don't feel bad I'm still terrified of them I had to look it up just to see why I'm 26 years old and terrified. And it's actually a name it's called maskphobia I believe it's a whole story about it. I'm still to this day scaredddd one reason I'm on here trying to get over my fears. When I went to Disney world as a kid I was only okay with a few mascots there. I had a horrible experience as a kid where I was chased by one so that could be a reason I'm still scared. Hopefully I can get over it
Great little documentary you put together there! You really put a lot of work into this! I felt that the icing on the cake I felt was the research you did on the current status of the closed Chuck E. Cheese’s locations.

Yes, I remember going to Teen Nights at the Preston Hwy location when I in middle school.
I’m a 90s baby . I spend a part of my childhood in Louisville I remember going to Chuck E. Cheese on hurstbourne and gatti land on Outer Loop
I remember seeing something about a showbiz pizza zone in Frankfort Kentucky. It had its own google page and even reviews if I recall. It’s not there anymore but you can still find pages for it. It kinda confused me because 1: there was only one pizza zone and 2: my dad doesn’t even remember there being one there and he’s lived in Frankfort for over 30 years. My only guess is that someone just put it on there but I also doubt that very seriously because that’s a very specific thing to make a page about. Or I guess it could also be a regular showbiz pizza and someone mixed up the names. Idk but maybe you could do a video on this, I’m not very good at researching and I think it would be pretty interesting.

Seemed like as a kid I at the Preston/Indian Trail location at least once a month in the late 80's to mid 90's. When I get some time I'll dig into the many boxes of photos at my parents house and see what I can find. There's likely some photos in there from a Lexington location, as well as a Showbiz. I'll share them with you if I do. Also, it'll take a good amount of digging through storage containers, but at one time I had a bunch of Chuck E. Cheese character prize items/merch.
The 2012 ad was actually good and that’s when they cared about the animatronics before they were bought
The phone calls were hilarious Great work

What do I know about Tim Burton? He possessed, a superior way to ruin Christmas. Especially when he scoffed at, the good Santa Claus: Cliff Snyder. It's when Neal Gaimen helped out Tim Burton, write out a 3d cartoon movie called: 'Twas the Nightmare Before Christmas.' Why you can tell that, Tim Burton had dishonored Christmas in a superior way.
I went to a couple of parties at the Preston highway location and as a kid I was scared to death of all the animatronic things to the point where I refused to go!
6:02 that's the rocker stage but Helens cosmetics are from the 1 stage
R.I.P. Louisville’s Studio C Alpha (1999-2024) Stage was taken out on april 1, with all bots being destroyed, according to Cheese E Pedia Wiki. What makes it worse is that the removal occurred on April fools day, but this wasn’t a joke. What a crazy coincidence, and not in a good way. #justiceforlouisvillechuck
My brother worked at the Mall one and had to dress as Chuckee. Hated it. Said it was a madhouse, and the suit was smelly. The teen nite thing was cool, but back then there were alot of "teen bars". "Dirty Girties", one on Preston across from the HS, and even one downtown called "Club X". Worth researching if you want.

25:48 Yea I Never Forget About The Car Photo Ride And I Even Have A Picture Of Me On It At The (Now Closed) Lima Ohio Location
I was scared of the Chuck E costume too, well that version of the costume.
When I was kid, whenever chuck e came out into the pizzeria, I would always hide in the play place because I was so deathly afraid of him. Good times, lol.
I was always jealous of the other stores because I grew up with hurstborne too and was just chucky and the bird
Love the narrative
Well when i was at chuck e cheese in queens Skyview mall in 2013 they had the skytubes and a studio c cappa
The Chuck E Cheese's at Indian Trail was a video store, a verizon store, and then that hibbett sports. The bank was always the bank.

I haven’t been to Chuck E Cheese’s since 2014 & had some memories about the place at my Grandma’s house, I thought it was the sketchbook game at the pizza chain, I forget because it’s been so long. What did Tim Burton do? He even rearranged the face of human pregnancy life and pre-engaged couple life, and marriage relationship life. Why you can tell that Tim Burton is also the one, who'll make Elvis Presley feel upset. Even feel disappointed. You know very well that Tim Burton is always going, for something what's macabre like I appearance. He most recently went for 'The Addams Family,' which is terrible. You know very well just how much, I care about the truth in this case.

Did you bet on that I was going to tell a redhead woman who was a Yellowstone National Park tourist of what freedom is? It's true that freedom is not being a special ED student or even a mental institution inmate. Which means I told her that, it's best to be a normal mainstream school student. It's best to be in the solid first grade such as. I learned it the hard way that, when you're in kindergarten you don't take the state test. Not like you do have to in the first grade. I remember the Pizza Time Theater TV commercial where Chuck E. Cheese, tells about bringing in a good report card. Thus the student gets a good deal, for any kind of pizza he/she wants. Will the student get the ice cream cone he/she would be asking for including, which was what I had in mind?
