I did notice that they didnt include how many generations for back for the black relative. All this time I thought it was a grand parent of hers who was black. But judging by the time line if she only has 2% black like the rest of us, that would make all of us black. But that wouldn't be fair either to real black people

So, I wanted my grandmother and mother to be white? And the rest of my family? People that I admire and love the most? Ha! Ok. Makes zero sense. I don't understand why people think she looks african. She has the typical german nose even my father has. Many germans have this nose. For me as an german she looks absolute typical old german. She had very pale skin and blonde reddish hair. I can't see any african in this. And she wasn't even a princess, who said that? She was only the daughter of a duke. And she is the ancestor of King Charles. He doesn't look very African to me either. But I think when they claim her a black Queen I can also say that I am black because I have one Egyptian ancestor 200 years ago. She was not mixed race, I don’t really get why people have suddenly decided she was. This all stems from her having one ancestor (and this is even debated) who MAY have been a “Moor” from fifteen generations back. To put that in context, she would have 0.003% of her ancestry from that person. In other words, she would not have been remotely non-white. Can anyone who believes this ridiculous story counter what I’ve just said? Her ancestry is well documented, where does the supposed non-European ancestry come from?

Look at this portrait by Thomas Gainsborough and tell me she looks "African" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte_of_Mecklenburg-Strelitz Just because your cognitive dissonance WANTS her to appear mixed race doesn't make it so. In any event your wishes and opinions are irrelevant. IF Charlotte had a MOORISH ancestor 500 years previously who may or may not have been North African (Arabic), it is a simple matter of genetics that the features of that single person would not over-ride the features of Charlotte's other tens of thousands of ancestors, from that time. You can imagine what you want.....it doesn't change FACTS. BRIDGERTON is a FICTIONAL TV series by the way 🤣.

Lets assume that Queen Charlotte's ancestor in the 1200s was black. 500 years between them, there would be at least (and probably more) a separation of 20 generations. If you do the math, that means that assuming no other ancestors of color, 1 out of 1 million 18th great grandparents was black. If 21 generations separated them, it goes to 1 out of 2 million. Not sure that would qualify her to be a person of color.

All these new movies coming out remind me of the movie The Imitation of Life. It was a movie about a Black young lady trying to pass for white. She had very fair skin. Her mother was Black, and her father was white. I'm not saying they are doing this in these movies, just looking at skin tones. People are so concerned about skin tones and forget the real person. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks upon the heart.

So many things wrong with this, Moor was a name given to muslims, the Moor's were not all from Africa and definately not all black, very few were, they originated from North Africa and Southern Europe and were a combination of several different peoples. Queen Charlotte was 16 generations (400 years) from her ancestor, any Moor background would be around 0.0006% of her DNA, if not less. Bridgertons fictional portrail of Queen Charlotte is exactly that, fictional, not factual.

I have watched programs that have shown from newspapers over 170 years ago and books 350 years old of descriptions of well to do families that members where brunette, sallow or swarthy, the meaning of these words mean of dark complexion, dark brown or black …. Therefore I do feel confused because when I left school in 1983 there was no black history month just British history. So I will say this it would be interesting to get an expert opinion from those who know history and ancestry and are expert in those fields , and I look forward to your comments. Swarthy usually meant tanned by the sun. The beauty ideal of Jane Austin's time was to have really white skin. That's why they had wide brimmed hats and parasols to prevent getting a tan. Having sallow skin meant coming from Southern Europe as it is darker than Scandinavian skin. But still considered white.

It's easy to trace back the lineage of the Royal Family. Charlotte had one North African ancestor 500 years before she was born, making her a very small part North African (less than 1%). She had so-called 'African' features (such as the larger nose) because the German Royal Family were known for inbreeding. I think it's a huge stretch to say she was the 'first black royal' in England, because it's not really true. Its better to celebrate that now we actually do have a mixed race royal through Harry and Meghan.

The genealogy of Charlotte’s mother and father is readily available, and shows no trace of ‘mixed’ heritage, and as for the La Madragena legend, there is not a shred of proof, and it was five hundred years before. You also need to some more research on Dido Belle, as your facts are not quite straight. It is sad that people cling to the idea of a relatively unimportant queen consort’s skin colour, when there so many real life women of colour with real achievements to admire, like Madam CJ Walker or Marion Anderson , real pioneers! . Until recent misinformation on the Web it was well known she was mixed race and brown. My paternal grandmother was in service in London just after Edwardian times. She was told Victoria was brown. She saw for herself that his brother George, the next king, was "sort of tinged. Swarthy looking. Similar to Mediterranean". He thought the public were curious about his skin tone (most probably weren't as it was more recent history then, and people were told by their own parents and grandparents) and he wrote a letter to the public to explain that Queen Charlotte was mixed race. The information was even on the Web until a couple of years ago. That is the trouble with the Web. The truth of history can be replaced with a lie or even lack of information by a few keystrokes. Unlike antiquarian first edition books which have become almost impossible to find now.....in fact it's as if someone has been buying them up for book burning bonfires. Of course Charlotte wasn't the only mixed race royal. Queen Philippa of Hanault (look up her description) and her and Edward's offspring including the ultra savage black Prince Edward they stole Wales for. He had a reputation for riding on horseback and cutting down peasant mothers with babes in arms and pregnant women as they pled for mercy. Remember that girls of around 14 married and became mothers then. So he was murdering kids and their babies. The truth of that is also altered on the Web now. The black Prince was called the Little Black Prince in the French Court where he was raised. John O'Gaunt and all his siblings. Anne Boleyn is also reputed to have been swarthy. The red Tudor rose was to signify their colour, as there were no brown roses. The white rose of the Yorkists were to signify white royals. They forced the White Queen into marriage for power, not for peace. Remember, the y syyc sons, their angels and ju tes then their later northman (Saxons, Angles, Jutes and Normans) cousins with whom they interbred did marry outside their bloodlines sometimes for power and wealth. The children were betrothed even from birth sometimes. The weaker of the families went to live in the country of the stronger of the two. For example, Philip came to live in England when he married Elisabeth II. Pass this on as it is being fast erased by misinformation by those in control, who don't want the public to know the real truth unless it suits them. Why? Because knowledge is power and they don't want us to have any. Always remember that when they use MSM and the Web, because they control almost all of this too. Whether it's toxic darts, the truth of space (level earth observer channel - I believe we live in a crater as that makes the most sense, because water doesn't stay on a ball), or whether it's anything else, those in control don't want you and your children to have the power even over yourselves.

Wrong! In fact when it comes to simple physical characteristics the reverse is true based on a study by Harvard University. Each gene has two forms: dark skin allele (A, B, and C) and light skin allele (a, b, and c). Neither allele is completely dominant to the other, and heterozygotes exhibit an intermediate phenotype (incomplete dominance). Each dark skin allele in the genotype adds pigment by increasing melanin production. Looking at the two largest effect genes explaining difference between Africans and Europeans the light alleles are more dominant than the dark alleles!
