Didn’t expect you to make a Dying Light video. I honestly love both of these games, they aren’t perfect but they fill such a unique niche. Definitely looking forward to Dying Light 2’s future since we know they plan on supporting the game till at least 2027.

I'd rather they focus on big DLC's / a new game after a year or 2, but I'm for sure in the minority if you look at the steam charts. Especially since they went all in on the bounty system and the 'events'

If they improve DL2 as much as they did DL1 then Techland will do very well. If ind it funny how so many put DL1 as a masterpiece yet trash part 2 when the first one took a few years to get to the "masterpiece" point (which it was not). If Techland does the same amount of polish on the game part will be better than the first one. In some ways it already is.

@@darkforgiven360idk man, dying light 2 has problems that are deep rooted and much more than just needing polish, the story is terrible and has some of the worst character writing in any video game I’ve ever played and the gameplay is amazing but it’s always going to be too easy because you will out level everything by just actually playing the game and experiencing the horrid side quests.

@@darkforgiven360I see what you mean . However it took them much less time to polish the first game than the second , the first game was released in 2015, by the time the dlc -The Following was released in 2016, the game was already cleared out most of the glitches and being praised by everyone on the internet ,the sequel was released 2 years ago , one year later (last year) it was still a very mediocre game with glitches and many undercooked game designs that were inferior to its predecessor by the time. It is ,right now , a pretty decent game.

dying light will always have a place in my heart. me and my friends in middle school would do nothing but run the prison mission over and over and over again to get the guru reward.. glitching out of the map to run to the end and looting all the containers (because the chests were rightfully unloaded) and just having fun killing apex predators (the highest level in the "be the zombie" game mode) in the most insane ways possible, like dropkicking them off roofs into spikes. duplicating cigarettes to get money, asking modders to help you get gold weapons and then duplicating them.. i reminisce on those days sometimes. very good video!

this is actually pretty crazy (only crazy to me, unless ive never had an original “thought”) you upload something about dying light. i just bought my buddy this game to relive the first game i bought for my ps4 and absolutely loved. and it feels so great to play again, but im always comparing how i personally really dislike dying light 2 for many many reasons. and i tried to reply the second game recently after playing 20 hours but barely remembering the game. and man it just doesnt have the same gritty vibe, and the big reason i just got off entirely was seeing the armor system with different tiers of armor. i play enough games that i got to worry about that, i just want to run around and kill zombies. idk im sure im in the minority of this take.

Even recently going as far as to changing the aesthetics and graphics of the game making certain areas look more unique across roof tops and metro areas . It’s been pretty dope . Now they are adding armed enemies to the world . Shits crazy cuz all I still really want is be a be zombie lol

Why I personally love The Following is that it feels very cozy in comparison to the main game. The main game has huge stakes, world-ending catastrophe, a full on war between rival factions and is extremely cramped and crowded the whole way through. The world of the base game *can* be mastered, but the game is very dense, both in level design and theme. The Following is a lot slower of a burn, and the things you do feel a lot more personal to the community. If you want to just drive around and exist in the countryside, it's honestly pretty relaxing. This is in comparison to the constant freeflow of running through the city, dominated by making tight jumps between rooftops and grappling occasionally to correct for whiffed leaps. I enjoy running through the city of Harran, both the Slums and Old Town, but I also enjoy the more relaxed and spacious feel of The Following. They are two different ways to take the gameplay of Dying Light and make it enjoyable, and each one is a nice mix up from the other. This is a great video, thank you for making it :)

Not sure if anyone commented about this but, the bloody ties dlc actually got worse in a way. When it was freshly released there was a whole segment of you trying to get IN the carnage hall by getting a secret phrase that opens the door (thats why there is a strange, disconnected cutscene of a random bouncer opening the door and letting you in), meeting ciro, who robs you, acts all cocky ect. Him constantly being a dick kinda made me dislike him, but after getting to know him a bit better, made me kind of get attached to him, which made the ending a lot sadder for me when i did kill him. But now, ciro doesnt really feel like someone that important for the player to go into carnage hall and save, he feels... well.. boring. Anyway, i guess a lot of people really disliked him, thats why a decent portion of the dlc kinda got nuked, which is a bummer

Good stuff. I used to love Dying Light, but there were some issues that made me not want to revisit the game. Well, I think I now know why.

Amazing video, but I wanna give one issue that I have with it, and it’s more towards the start of the dying light 2 part, which is why there are no one from dying light one (except for two people). The nuke ending isn’t the cannon ending, it’s actually the ending where crane ends up becoming a volitile.

interesting to see you using the grapple hook in Dl 2 without spamming the pull the grapple hook button, that mimicks how it worked in Dl 1 and it makes cimbing sometimes way easier than just pretending to be spider man

With stalker 2 around the corner I’d love to hear your thoughts in a metro/stalker vid. It’s a series a lot of people don’t know about or have forgotten.

My girlfriend introduced me to Dying Light shortly after I started playing games again and we co-op’d the hell out of it. She had played it before and throughout, it always seemed “scary” and “dangerous” to roam the town day or night. We played the 2nd one and I never felt like I was threatened at all. Even as a low level. Game was a blast but I missed that element.

Have you played DL2 lately? Cause the nights are more dangerous than 1, especially since in 1 you could easily kill Volatiles with guns, which are now in DL2, but they're not as strong

You should have included the first Dead Island game here. Maybe just a brief summary but since the same people made it I think knowing where their zombie games started would be helpful.

the thing is,this game DID take itself to seriously, its the entire reason they whent their own way from the dead island publisher, they wanted to be more serious, idk why it has some of those goofy missions that are goofier than even the dead island ones

Man I disagreed with so many of your points about the first game, but I really appreciate the long form coverage of the series. Thank you for the video.

Boss fights are a huge Techland weakness, and that weakness persists in Dying Light 2. In fact I think it's even worse there. The open world boss spawns are fine tho because they're not there to be beaten (in DL1), they're there to be an obstacle
