We’re heading to Universal in July and my daughter just saw this video as we were doing some “research”, she squealed with happiness when she saw Molly’s hair and Harry Potter! Molly is our favorite! Keep doing what you do, Molly! 💜

As much as I miss the Jaws ride, Diagon Alley is a worthy successor, and probably the best themed area of any theme park in the world.

I dont know if someone said this but the trolly between platform 9 and 10 there is a glass that make the people look like they are walking through the wall.

The book "Moste Potente Potions" is the restricted book where they found the recipe for Polyjuice Potion!

Molly! I have an idea for you to pass on if you get the opportunity! Can you imagine a Harry Potter two-night experience with Hogwarts?? You know, like the Star Wars hotel. Just Harry Potter! OMG, we could have our own adventure with Hagrid, or battle the Basilisk! Eat at the feast each night and enjoy sleeping in 4 poster beds with hangings. It's just a thought of mine, but I thought I would put it in another true Potter fans head! I love your videos!

They can allow you to proclaim your house or they can sort you if you don't have one! It can be like a sleep away summer camp for hogwarts students and alumni (to justify adults going). Man my head is REELING with ideas and logistics! I think it would be soooo much more fitting than starwars because it's inherent to the HP universe to insert yourself whereas starwars is more like lord of the rings. You are either a main character or you just aren't really involved. So as much as i like what they did with it, it does feel a bit shoehorned in

If the Star Wars hotel is enough of a success, there will be all sorts of copycats; if it isn't, people will probably avoid investing in huge immersion endeavors like that for a while. In the meantime, conventions like ExpectoCon will be the next best thing - I went to the first one, and it was awesome!

We would definitely want the true experience of a sorting hat, but can you imagine splitting up families? Also, it’s funny to see adults running around the parks in house robes because they’re adults... ...shouldn’t they have graduated by now? 😁 alumni merch for them. 👍

Another little detail in the Hagrid's queue that many people miss is a nod back to the previous ride that was on the site: Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge. When you first enter the indoor portion of the queue and about 10 feet beyond where the Lily and James graffiti is located there is a faded advertisement mural on the wall (easiest to spot immediately across from you as you enter the hall before turning left towards the u-turn). It features a red and blue dragon snarling at each other and advertises a Dragon Dueling Club.

This video saved my butt. Stumbled across it and noticed I bought 1park 1 day pass instead of 2park - 1day. Thankfully was able to get it refunded and repurchased correctly before i had any issues on my upcoming August trip.

This was the most comprehensive tour I've ever seen on this particular theme park. I've seen things I will never get to see thank you so much

I think Dumbledore chose Ron as a Prefect for two reasons. One was because he thought it would be good for Ron to learn some responsibility, and knew that Hermione would be keeping his worse impulses in check (as well as the fact that Ron is basically a good kid raised by good parents, so his worst impulses were just that, impulses). The second is that he knew the Trio would need to be doing more and getting away with more, and giving Ron the authority rather than Dean or Neville or Seamus (the only other choices) would help make sure they weren't hindered by a well-meaning classmate filling the role. Remember, this was the year Harry had been dragged through the mud all summer in the papers, and Neville was the only one of the other three boys who stated unwaveringly that he believed Harry. Neville would definitely have been a great second choice, but I'm not sure he had the confidence to lead at that point; that came after the trip to the Ministry, as well as getting a wand that had chosen him rather than his dad's old wand. I firmly believe having the wrong wand was part of why Neville was so bad at certain types of magic before that point, and why he got so badass once he got one better suited to him! Personally, I'm amazed Umbridge never took away Ron's status as Prefect and gave it to Seamus or Dean.

Dumbledore didn’t choose Ron, Rowling did. And the reason is pretty obvious. Rowling wanted Harry to feel isolated this book, we get that from the very beginning where he isn’t receiving news from his friends. So it serves no purpose to have an Dean, the only other boy might be qualified (I say might because he’s barely a character), because then Harry still has Ron around. Same goes for Ron being on the quidditch team and Harry not being on it.

@@RJMiller73 This is what's known as Watsonian vs Doylist perspective. You can look at a story from the outside, from the author's perspective, or you can look at it from the characters' perspective. A good story is internally consistent, not arbitrary. Sure, JKR decided everything about the series (except when she had a good editor ;-), but if there's no reasons for anything within the story, no one will want to read it. Some people enjoy figuring out Watsonian explanations for what happens in their favorite stories.

Molly, remember Hagrid told Ron and Harry how much he liked Charlie. The terrific trio sent Hagrid’s dragon to Charlie in Romania. And that Charlie could have been a pro quidditch player if he hadn’t gone to chase dragons in Romania So He was mentioned.

Hello, I just stumbled across your page and absolutely love it, you might have already talked about this in the past, but when you were walking through diagon Alley your video quality was just amazing in this video. Could I ask you what kind of camera you use?

All the TMs working at Filch's are students that have received Detention. When you are checking out you can ask them what they did to get put in there and they'll give you a funny backstory!

These videos just prove that I’ve only scratched the surface on my theme park Easter egg knowledge. I love these so much and I can’t wait to see what other parks/lands we get more of these for.

Love it! And I love that Molly devotes time to Universal as well as Disney; it seems like far too many vloggers either do Disney only, or do so many other places and things that both parks end up with much less screen time. Love Disney, but love Universal too! (Not that I wouldn't love seeing Molly hitting some of the other attractions in central Florida, mind you. I'd love to see Secrets of Busch Gardens or Kennedy Space Center!)

I have never been on the Jaws ride but I’ve been on the backlot tour at Universal Hollywood and it looks exactly the same. The jaws part is still there. Looks like you need a trip to Universal Hollywood!

We almost missed it completely, as there were very low lines that day, and a cool Universal staff person called our attention to it, and even took our phone made a video of us walking through the wall, that uses a sweet mirror special effect. I still don't get why Universal couldn't get Emma Watson to do the voice over for the Hogswarts Express show.

When looking at the Weasley family photo in Bill’s office at the Gringotts ride… NOTE: it’s not Domhnall Gleeson in the photo. He wasn’t cast as Bill at that point so Richard Fish is in the photo playing Bill 😛

When me and my siblings were on the Hogwarts ride, they brought us to a backstage section on accident instead of where all the others riders went. There was just an elevator or the way out. We went in the elevator out of curiosity and there was a button that said “No Muggles Allowed”. Of course we pressed it and it opened up into a black curtain and we got too scared to look behind it. Regret it to this day. 😂 I wanna know what was behind it.

Another nod to the Jaws ride is that wheel on one of the giant telescopes in one of the shops (forgot the name) is the same wheel that was used on one of the boats! Edit: the shop is Wizeacres Wizarding Equipment! It’s the telescope on the left.

We're headed there in July so I've been watching all your videos and more.

A couple more sets of shark teeth can be spotted inside of Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley, hiding among the trinkets on the bottom row of the center glass case. These sets of jaws are said to have been recycled props from the old attraction, given a second life here in the Wizarding World. 😁

Inside of Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment, the shop you exit through after riding Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, you might spot some unusual telescopes. Located around the upper part of the store, these strange contraptions are said to contain parts from boats on the old JAWS ride. One of the larger telescopes feature parts from a brass ship compass that was located in the old ride’s queue. Other props from the JAWS attraction were used around the land as well, including a rope ladder and chains in the blacksmith shop, and an old crate on the right side of the preshow area for Escape from Gringotts.😁

The ‘secrets of the darkest art’ was the first book I noticed in that stack!

Just left Universal on Thursday and wish I would have noticed the secrets

I want to go there so bad! I'm a mega HP fan (Ravenclaw) but I'm also now living in Spain, so going to Universal in Florida would not be cheap. When would be the best time to go -- off season with fewest people but not a time when rides are closed for maintenance? I appreciate any suggestions. This is the one thing that would get me back on US shores (for a few days).

I can’t believe you didn’t mention this- in the room of Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure line with all the eggs in cases- the Golden Egg from the triwizard tournament is hidden there on the right side, about eye level halfway down

I know this is probably common knowledge but I just wanna say it. At the magical menagerie in Diagon Alley there is a big snake that you can look at through a side window by the restroom. If you listen to the snake you can realize it starts to speak in parseltounge for a breath time before going back to hissing. I love the detail and I wanna share it so much.

I remember when diagon alley opened. So many people wearing school robes...even adults like me. Seems like its kinda going away.

Someday if I go there I can look for those Easter eggs.

Another one of those books in the stack with the Darkest Arts is Moste Potente Potions, which is the book Hermione uses to brew Polyjuice Potion in Chamber of Secrets. And the blast-ended skrewt is also seen in Fantastic Beasts: Secrets of Dumbledore movie in the cave scene with the little crab guys.

Why not? Ron is clearly the most qualified, even more so than Harry. Plus Ron is all that stands between Hermione and the school hating her. Because that’s what would have happened had Hermione been left unchecked as a prefect and as we see time and time again, Ron is the only person that will check her. He’s also one of only a handful of people that actually likes her.

We have never been there! It's in our list, but WDW has been our spot. Once we get moved there, we plan to visit Harry!

Not sure if it’s true, but I’ve also heard that some Jaws ride parts are in the telescopes and gear at the top of Wiseacres. 😉🦈🔭

Inside Wisearces all that metalwork hanging is JAWS! They were parts taken from the mechanical shark. Also Jaws the ride is still up and running at Universal Studios Japan. When you buy a wand, it comes with map that shows all the shops and spell locations. If you stand in certain spot in Nocturne ally, there's a black light that shows the "secret" spell locations. Inside The 3 Broomsticks, there's shadow animations that pop out on the walls. One is Dobby slowly walking by Inside Gringotts bank, the bags in marble hall have REAL (plastic shaped) Galleons, sickles and knuts inside

What the heck is that bridge thing over Diagon Alley? You see it right as you walk in and look up.

Is it confirmed thru official channels that there are only 3 Jaws references? that is cool AF that they put those there.

As to Ron becoming a prefect, his deepest desire from the mirror of Erised was becoming head boy and quidditch captain. Maybe because of Ron’s services to the school in the prior years had something to do with it. Maybe Dumbledore thought that was the next best thing for Ron to feel accomplished in comparison to Harry. Maybe Dumbledore thought Harry had too much on his plate and he needed more free time and not forced to so many tasks. That’s my take on it.

If you stop for a few seconds, under the bricks, before entering Diagon Alley, listen carefully-you can hear the bricks moving apart, letting you in. There's also another cool thing you can do. It involves the apartment building, next to the train station. I won't say what it is. I like to "perform this task" and then tell people around me to watch what happens.......it makes me feel like I have a magical touch. Also ,the shrunken head talks in the Knight Bus, although I'm not sure how often that happens......
