If you added more membranes all the way along to the end of the pipe, would it just add more distorting or more resonance? Also, to get more of a mix of natural voice and resonated voice, you could add a hole off to the side just before the membrane that you could plug and unplug as you sing. What a great and versatile instrument! Thank you and Aurus for your performance and showing how underrated membranaphones are. They aren't just children's toys, they are instruments for professional musicians! 😃🎶🎶🎶

So I started getting into these kinds of DIY/junk instruments only a few weeks ago! And among other things "comb and paper" stuff as well as messing with kazoos specifically and wondering what all I can do with them. Of course you were a big inspiration! Love the jug band cello, too. Just got s couple suitcases with the intention of making musical instruments out of them though I was thinking of percussion at the time. So now I'm going to have to mess with this, too!

I wanna make clear that there's no hate in this comment at all. This video is near the top of the worst sounding thing I've heard on KZread since I started using the platform. Then at 11:10 it turned into one of the best sounding videos I've ever watched. It was like literal magic. I really appreciate watching all the experimentation leading up to the final product. It's easy as a musician to think "This sounds bad, and I suck", and you forget that often times, true beauty only appears when sounds come together to form more than the sum of their parts. A lot of electric guitar sounds awful by itself with distortion and feedback, but in concert with the other parts of a song, it can sound beautiful and expressive. Awesome video.

It can also work if you combine a kazoo with a flute. The air continues to flow and at the same time you purr to the kazoo and play the flute. I'm also very curious what would happen if I combined a kazoo and a membrane clarinet. I personally made wooden membranophones, they have an amazing sound.
