According to Neville Goddard's teaching Astrology itself is not the cause but instead is an effect based solely on the person's belief. He even tells the story of an astrologer that got their clients reads mixed up but because those clients believed strongly enough the reads they received came mostly true even though it was not truly theirs. Also another indicators of a good mathematician and/or astrologer are Mercury conjunct/square/sextile/opposite/trine/quintile/septile Uranus, Mercury in Aquarius (Mercurial decan and Uranian decan more likely). Also a Mercury and/or Uranus dominant in 8th house or 9th house/9th house and Aquarius dominant will pick up math and astrology easily, and I can do that (My natal chart ruler is Mercury in 8th house whole sign, and 8th house rule occult sciences and 9th house rules science and higher knowledge)

A Zodiac sign isn’t a Sun sign, Zodiac sign is a symbolic representation of a 30 degree space in the ecliptic plane from the observation on Earth. A Zodiac sign represents the nature of the energy of that space. In reality you could use any symbol as in India Capricorn was also known as a crocodile, in China they had different symbolic references for the Zodiac. In Greek mythology it was the Gods that placed the symbol in the sky. The most important thing to ancient astrologers in regards to a natal chart is the degree point of the ascendant ( Rising Sign ) as this defines the fate and fortune , characteristics of the native.

The omitted sign is Ophiuchus, the most important in terms of its meaning. Also the size of the constellations is not the same, therefore the epoch sizes. So, followed by simple logic and individual observation, anybody can understand that even the best predictions have a large error with their predictions/interpretations...

This is close to the truth and was popular awhile back. Another important sign was probably Capella, a Spider Goddess, but we have copies of truly ancient Egyptian charts and the were always equal 30 degree signs but based on 36 ‘fixed’ stars. Sirius is another sky item I can think of that everyone would have known but is perhaps too far out of the ecliptic. The signs were all different. Leo was once a Sickle! And Libra is the claws of the scorpion. :)

Err.. opphiuchus is still there yo. Modern western tropical astrology comes from hellenistic, which.. along with history itself was being written n rewritten to suit the powers that be, church, Greek, Roman, Roman Egyptian?.. cancer and Virgo are large, easily take up 60 degrees not 30. The signs, sigils, names of planets etc has been changed around like crazy... the Hebrews hid the 12 tribes of Judah, the holy breastplate is the 12 gems associated with each birth month. Hell the whole calendar has been chopped n chunked. They monitor the 24 hour day now to the millisec. But the vedics, they have 27/28 mansions of the moon. Bypass all that kaka. In India they have exactly what day we at... precise. It's funny how so many people around the world don't actually see the correlation of power, religion, culture n astrology throughout time. That n the volcanoes, we had a lot of volcano action or flood that built oratory rites, become religion n ritual. I'm pretty sure astrocartography is used astrologically to plot points on earth. you can mix use both!.. as a beginer use tropical (northern hemissphere+ spring equinox is day 1 of the year, day 1 of aries, the 1st sign) ..sederial also uses NASA telescopes, has a 13 moon month year is more complicated. the sun just entered into "aquarius" 1962 - 2050 baby...for 2160 years 4160A.D.

If knowing which constellation the sun is in at the time of your birth, is important to you, then go with sidereal. In my mind, 12...30 degree zones is a little too convenient and lacks accuracy. I'm not into convenience - I'm into truth. That said, even sidereal can be off, so check NASA charts to know for sure.
